Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! It has been recently renovated to a very high standard and the design and furnishings are stylish and comfortable. The hotel is stunning. The staff were lovely and welcoming and went out of their way at breakfast to provide a gluten free alternative. It made a nice change to have some interesting items on the breakfast menu such as eggs benedict, florentine etc and it was all freshly cooked to order, rather than being a breakfast buffet. If you ordered breakfast in advance at the hotel (which we did when we arrived) it was only £10 per head which was very good value. The room we were allocated was spotless, stylishly furnished, very comfortable bed (one of the best hotel beds we have slept in!) and lovely bathroom.

The only negative was that there was no towel hook for the hand towels but that's just us nit-picking.

I was in a ground floor room, which looked to be for disabled access. The room was spacious with large "zipped together" bed, sofa, chair and coffee table. The mattress was very comfortable, and linen and towels were of good quality. There were USB sockets at each side of the bed, and the dressing table area had a mirror and spot lights over. Coffee and tea-making facilities included the provision of Early Grey and English Breakfast tea, and sachets of oat milk as well as cows' milk. Refilled bottles of drinking water were available at the bar. There was an iron and ironing board, and hairdryer in the wardrobe. The bathroom was a large wetroom with with a super shower (easy to control, with both fixed and removable heads and pull-down seat), and pull-down rails for the toilet etc. There was even a little sensor light that came on at night when walking into the bathroom. There was a TV in the room but I didn't try that out. I also didn't try the breakfast. But from what I experienced they seem to have thought of pretty much everything.

The only thing I might suggest is a floor squeegee for use after a shower.

Breakfast on Wed 7th May was exceptional & we felt compelled to send congratulations to the chef - it was almost perfect, certainly the best we've had in years. Perfectly presented & expertly cooked, stayed hot throughout the meal.

Breakfast on Thurs 8th. Staff apologised when they delivered it, explaining that they had a cover chef that morning, who was not as experienced as the usual chef. They also apologised for the long wait for the meal to be ready. The contrast couldn't have been larger, it was obvious that the food had been kept under a heat source while other items were cooked - dish of beans were totally dried, eggs over cooked, bacon solid, various items were cold or quickly went cold. Sorry to be so negative but there were no redeeming features. We had obviously been spoiled the morning before &had high expectations.

Great staff, welcoming and attentive. Late checkout option helped us have a relaxed final morning. Lovely food and drink downstairs. Veggie and vegan options and breakfast available til 11:30am (later than most hotels, and super tasty) plus proper barista coffee. Good location. Great decor / refurb, lovely powerful shower, comfy bed. Booked last minute but felt welcome and had a good stay.

The hotel itself outside wasn’t too noisy, but within the hotel you can hear the neighbouring rooms and the bar quite loudly. Bar noise stops at a reasonable time each night. Not much the hotel can change about noise between bedrooms though, perhaps tweaking room layouts so TV in one room isn’t against the bed in the next room. Noise can happen in any hotel though, and at least this hotel had many other positives to balance out the noise :)

It's probably no more than 100 meters from the station. The room was well sound proofed, so you won't hear any noise from the station or the pub out front. People have told me that the hotel has recently been refurbished. This is evident from the clean, new rooms. The bathroom is lovely. The bed was comfy. I needed an iron, which was promptly provided by the staff. Good coffee facilities with both normal and oat milk. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

It was very close to the station literally 15 second walk if that. Lovely looking building The staff were absolutely lovely from the day time staff to the night staff. Completely welcoming. Credit to the railway hotel. Our room was everything we wanted and more. Super clean and fresh. The bed was so comfortable and the best shower we have had staying anywhere. We will definitely stay here again when we are back, really can’t praise our stay enough top notch establishment

Nothing at all the hotel was lovely maybe the only gripe we had was with parking but that’s nothing to do with the railway hotel

The hotel/pub is across the road from the train station so very easy if coming in via train. It's about 10-15 mins walk from the city centre and 20 mins from the seaside. Food in the pub downstairs is excellent and there's enough little shops around for supplies, a good little craft beer shop just across the train line and about 10 mins walk to Worthing FC, so we found the location was great. The room was comfortable and warm, just had a few quirks like any hotel room - a light switch needed fixing and the windows were hard to open - this was the only reason it didn't get 10/10 for us.

Just the couple of little quirks with the room but it didn't make our stay worse.

This place was much bigger than we expected and is part of a pub. It appeared to be well run. New decor. Large room and large bed. Huge walk-in wet room. Discount on food ordered in the pub but you must remember to mention that you are a resident when bill is paid. Amazing full English breakfast and evening meal

There was a sensor light at floor level in bathroom so we did not need to put main light on at night. But it went out very quickly so you were suddenly left in darkness. As lovely as our room was, it was more suited for someone in a wheelchair. It had superb disabled facilities including a very low level basin, several support bars and handles, and a flip down seat in the shower part of the atrium. However, my husband and I are both very tall and found it uncomfortable to use the sink. We were advised that the staff would have been happy to change our room but we didn’t find the issue until after we had unpacked.

The hotel has had an makeover since we were last there and the place looks fantastic, The room we had was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities you would look for. The bed was comfortable and we both had a really good nights sleep. We didn't have the breakfast as we had other family plans arranged with the family we were visiting with, however we had an evening meal one night which hit the spot and the prices were good and we had a 25% discount due to us being resident. We would definitely recommend and will re book for when we are next visiting

The hotel is a lovely old Victorian traditional pub with accommodation, that has been renovated to a very high quality - with many of the original features being kept. The bedrooms by contrast were comfortable, very modern and warm and cosy. With tea and coffee making as well. The bathroom with a large walk in shower was brilliant. A lot of thought has gone into the renovation ie in the bathroom, a night light comes at low level so you can see where you are going in the dark. We had a lovely meal in the pub and as we had booked a table were given a discount off our bill !! We will definately stay here again - the location is great with the train station 100 yards across the road. Parking at the local NCP (if you use the app) was cheaper than parking on the road and not an issue to walk there.
