This atmospheric hotel is the perfect blend of the old world charm we Americans come to Europe to experience firsthand and the modern conveniences we have come to expect from bigger hotels back home- an elevator, strong WiFi, hot showers, water pressure, and "the good towels". It is situated on a quiet street near the most delightful public squares in Cádiz and is a perfect home base for exploring the sights of the city. I stayed on the second floor with an exterior balcony room during busy Semana Santa week and noise was not a problem. I love design and pay attention to details more than most- the antique tiles floors are exquisite, and the Moorish fountain is gorgeous! But in addition there are lots of thoughtful details all over the hotel that reference the "old Andalus". The staff is kind and helpful and I felt well taken care of. I also extended my original reservation when my travel plans changed and I'm glad I stayed at this hotel!
Nothing!

The Hotel Argantonio is in the perfect location, close to all of Cádiz's main tourist attractions, yet still in a quiet area. Our room was cosy and spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was well-maintained. It also had a balcony, which was very useful for drying towels after a day on the beach. The room was cleaned daily and the reception was open late. We also had breakfast at the hotel, which was varied and delicious. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. Special thanks to Rosa for her openness and charm. I hope to return to Cádiz soon!

The room was very pretty with all the tile work. The staff was exceptionally friendly and we're always there when we needed something. Location was great, right in the heart of the historic city center, with great restaurants, the beach, and landmarks all very walkable. The hotel also had a rooftop lounge/ garden perfect for great views of the city, and curling up and unwinding with a book and a glass of wine. It was our favorite spot in the hotel. Overall we loved our stay it was a very homey and laid back vibe, wish we could've stayed longer.
Only thing that wasn't great was the elevator is very small so took us a few trips to get all the bags to the room.

The ambience was so relaxing the minute you walked in the door. It was like our little oasis especially as it was so hot outside. The bedroom was beautiful with easy access to the rooftop which was so comfortable with easy chairs, shelter and plants and a great vista all round. The breakfast was served by a delightful gentleman who looked after us and nothing was too much trouble We enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast with as much as we liked. Thank you everyone. We would love to return one day. Brian & Bettie x
We were delighted with everything...home from home!

The location was excellent, made better by the fact the hotel has it's own underground garage (four slots). Parking in Cadiz would have been difficult without this. The staff were super helpful and polite, nothing too much trouble. Our suit was as we imagined. The hotel itself was a mix of Moorish and Spanish styles, really very lovely.
The breakfast was a disappointment if you aren't Spanish. No offer of any kind of eggs, just bread, croissant, jam and the cheese and local ham were served on a plate covered with cling film. This isn't really a complaint, just would have been good to have a little more variety.

A fabulous find… highly recommended, we definitely want to return. The staff were all delightful and so accommodating. The hotel interior offered such a wonderful ambiance: it was stylish, calm, with beautiful interior decor. Loved the delicious continental breakfasts, excellent value. Parking was so convenient. An extremely comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Don’t forget to enjoy a little tipple on the roof-top terrace. The location was perfect for exploring the delightful old town of Cadiz.
Nothing. Everything was so lovely.

The location was exceptional and the hotel was nice in general. We loved the staff as well.
We unfortunately were not able to use the hotel parking because of limited spaces and had to park elsewhere. This in general would not be a problem. However, one day when we decided to visit Jerez there was a concert in the city and it was literally impossible to find a parking space again. We managed to find parking far away. It was a half an hour walk to the hotel.

Superb location, excellent design/feel of hotel with stylish historic quirky decor. Excellent kind and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble and we felt very well cared for in a personal way even down to our breakfast tea/coffee preference being remembered day to day at the great fresh breakfast. Hotel was very calm and welcoming, especially the large quiet lounge area with relaxing jazz music. Bonus to have access to lovely roof terrace too. Our bedrooms weren't huge but were lovely with good quality linens, cool floor tiles and good shower water pressure.
Some rooms (ours) don't have windows to the outside which wasn't clear when I booked. I had a window onto the beautiful internal stairwell/central internal courtyard and my companion had an opening window onto a kind of ventilation chute. We both had aircon so the temperature/freshness was fine, but they were a little dark (especially for my elderly companion). So if sight of outside space is important then make sure you book an external room.

Staff were lovely ,welcoming and very helpful,24 hour reception..Location was perfect for visiting all attractions and 10 min walk to train station. The decor was really pretty and welcoming. Candles lit along the staircase every evening.Gorgeous building
I think we might have been a bit unlucky with our room 102,it was quite small and dark. The bed wobbled and was squeaky and not very comfortable. The bathroom tiles and fittings are in need of upgrading, tiling was a bit grubby looking around the shower and floor.Room is above reception and breakfast area so very noisy in the mornings, some street noise but that's OK given its central location. The room was tidied every day but floors weren't cleaned or swept properly. We probably should have asked for a room change or paid for an upgrade although the room wasn't cheap but we didn't spend much time in the room in the 5 days so we didn't bother.I would stay again but in a different room next time.

this little hotel has style! I was so pleased that my single room had those little decor details that made it look cozy and special, it has an antique retro feel but with all the modern facilities. I even had a bath in my room. Breakfast was really nice, freshly pressed juice and fruit bowl was v nice. Staff very friendly. it just had the ambiance that I loved. Unlike some faceless hotels, this one is stylish and special. Loved it! Location is also great, in the old town, and not far from train/bus station. Price is also reasonable.
the wardrobe in my room, just a wooden box, was a little bit flimsy
