Medewi Secret Surf Camp is amazing! We are already trying to decide when to come back! Muklis and the crew make you feel right at home. It’s a great place to hang out and meet fellow travellers too. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. The surf lessons at 450,000rp which is great value for money. The cafes in the area are also so delicious and amazing value for money. In the first night we arrived they hosted a shared dinner - it was 100,000rp each and there was an absolute feast! Such an awesome place! Thanks MSSC for the best few days ever!

It is about a 15-20min walk from the main shops and beach, but if you hire a scooter this is no problem. We were able to rent a scooter from the camp for 70,000rp, so cheap as!

The accommodation is clean and cozy, and I was lucky to get a room right in front of the pool. The people here are incredibly lovely and kind, making the whole experience even more special. I will absolutely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for progressive surf sessions in a small, peaceful village with long, smooth waves. Suitable for all levels, and hands down the best surf coaching in town – you’ll get full support both in the water and through video analysis to refine your technique by professional surfers. Huge thanks to Muklis, his team, and his family for making me feel so at home. Can’t wait to return!

We stayed for about 10 days in Medewi, but I feel like we could’ve stayed for months ! Everything is made so that you’d really feel at home in the camp, and it truly makes it seem that way ! I even got the chance to celebrate my birthday during a surf trip to Java, which I am so thankful for, it was everything I could’ve ever dreamed of ! Medewi was definitely the highlight of the few months we spent in Indonesia, and I can’t wait to be back again. I am so grateful to have met all these wonderful people and to have lived these unforgettable moments, in and out of the water. In terms of surfing, Muklis and the rest of the team really push you and challenge you, whatever your level is. How hard it is to say goodbye and leave ☹️

At the Secret Surf Camp you feel part of the family as you are staying in Muklis home. I stayed for three weeks and loved every minute and hope to return next year. The highlight was a trip to Java which was really special. Good vibes sums up the camp really well. Soleh and team (Arman,Aldi,Adi,Daffa, Firman and Ryan) are the most positive people I’ve met in a while. They are always happy, do not stop laughing and smiling and are great to be around. I must have been the oldest surfer they’ve had at the camp for a while but I felt really safe in the line up with the guys and loved being there. Just being out in the water was amazing. Soleh in particular is an awesome guide and found me some great waves over the last few weeks (long and mellow) which matched my ability. I met some great people and felt really welcome at the camp. Muklis laugh is infectious and I felt privileged to be there. If you are thinking about visiting,do it. Would I return, yes in a heartbeat! Thanks guys for everything 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Having to leave to go home.

Medewi Secret Surf Camp is great. In terms of the accommodation, it is basic - but comfortable. (This is reflected in the price.) The location is about ten or fifteen minutes' walk from the main road, from which you can access the beach and other places with cafes, etc. (There are a couple of other eateries nearer to the surf camp.) We were able to get a scooter (for a modest fee) for the week that we stayed, and this is basically essential to get around the area. (If you can't ride a scooter - or happily be a passenger on a scooter - then this may not be the best place for you to stay.) Participating in the surf camp sessions, and the associated video reviews, was super easy and the additional cost was modest. The area has different breaks, and the guides were able to identify suitable spots each day, depending on the swell and the ability of the participants.

The rooms are a bit dark and the bathrooms are basic - but perfectly adequate for the type of stay we had in mind. If you are aware of this when booking, then you should not be disappointed. We were there solely for the surfing; if you want to go to Medewi for other purposes then this surf camp is probably not the place for you. (There are some fancier places closer to the beach that have pools and sun-loungers, etc., if that's what you are looking for.)

My favorite place ever. Location is incredible, long ride to get there but so so worth it. Chill, beautiful, great food. There are a couple really great restaurants just 5 minute walk from the camp, and some good ones down at the beach as well. The rooms were very nice, they actually upgraded me when I arrived which was very kind. The family and coaches are so cool & make you feel at home. Surfing / lessons are well worth the price and they take you to a good spot. Definitely recommend!

The surfcamp and the people there make you feel like at home. Very friendly, always ready to help and the best crew. The surf lessons + the video analysis are the best way to improve. One thing is how you feel out in the water and then how the reality in the videos is. So the videos + their comments totally help to improve your surfing. On top of that, they have a large variety of boards that definitely help to get better in your surfing. As I said, it was not a goodbye but a see you soon! Terima kasih! 🙏

This is the most incredible place you will ever stay. My partner and I originally planned to stay here for one week but extended our stay to 10 days, and then came back again a few weeks later bringing a friend this time. It really is a home away from home. The guides are amazing, the people you will meet at the camp will be incredible, and it was the highlight of our trip. Thanks so much to everyone - We already can’t wait to go back again!

Accomodation, Java trip, social.

Getting pushed into a wave has nothing to do with surfing and doesn't make you a better surfer. Instructors who do that should be ashamed. Especially as a former professional surfer, you should know better. Instruct people to look more closely at the peak (wave), position yourself, paddle, read the wave, look for the currents, priorities, etc. That makes you a better surfer.

For me it felt like a home far away from Home! The house and the rooms are very clean, comfy and decorated with love. All the staff was treating me like if I was a part of the family as well, and was helping me with every concern. The surf lessons and analysis was so much fun and so good! Thanks to the whole team, I will definitely come back!
