All in all it was our first vacation in Bali/Indonesia and I am 100% sure we couldn't pick a better hotel. - The staff will go the extra mile to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible (literally nothing that we asked for was a problem); everybody was always smiling and very nice to us - We booked the ocean villa with private pool and it was absolutely amazing; you have your own pool 5 meters from your bed and a private garden with coconut palms and view of the ocean - We always ate at the resort's Tides restaurant and even after 7 nights you just cannot run out of options and you’ll always find something you like; you have a selection of dozens of local Indonesian/Balinese specialties but you can also have a taste of west cuisine (we had margarita pizza and it was more Italian pizza than in 50% of European pizza restaurants); also drinks were truly amazing (world-renowned drinks but also local ones) - Breakfast was included in the price and you have an enormous selection of local fruits, sweets, bakery, vegetables, noodles, rices, ... and some of the products are changed daily (+ you have á la carte selection from eggs, bowls, ...) - Water in the ocean was very warm with great waves which is lot of fun - The staff is also organizing daily free activities within the resort (cooking classes; bonfire; coconut products..) - Overall the resorts looked very clean, safe and exotic at the same time

A Slice of Paradise – Unforgettable Stay at Kelapa Retreat & Spa Our stay at Kelapa Retreat & Spa was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The staff are the heart and soul of this beautiful place—Edy, Ari, Made, Rai, and Anggi went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine kindness created an atmosphere that was both relaxed and luxurious. The spa experience was extraordinary. Yulai and Dariah have truly healing, loving hands—their treatments were deeply rejuvenating and left us feeling both physically and spiritually refreshed. The grounds are stunning—lush, serene, and immaculately maintained. Every corner of the resort exudes a sense of peace and natural beauty. Whether lounging by the pool or walking through the gardens, we were constantly in awe of our surroundings. And the food—absolutely exceptional! Each dish was a flavorful celebration of authentic Balinese cuisine, beautifully presented and prepared with care. Every meal was a highlight. Kelapa Retreat & Spa is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience of heartfelt hospitality, healing, and true Balinese charm. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return.

We visited kelapa retreat as family for an approx. 9 days vacation. Very quite place directly at the ocean. Very nice beach with dark almost black fine sand....nice long beach walks are possible. The food is very good in the retreat. Good cocktails, too. We can recommend the jeep tour very much...great all day tour with a trip to waterfalls including swimming in the nature. We booked the residence which was very big for 3 persons (6 would have fit easily)...but all villas seem to be reasonable sized. Rooms were very clean (checked 2 times a day) and also the service was great. The personal pool was extremely big 20m or so....but also the public pools were very nice, too. The resort has a remarkable garden (super !!) and it is located in an old coconut planage ..so a lot of room for everyone...so the place is pretty quiet and for sure not overcrowded. The massages were also very relaxing...tried them all...all with a speciality and outstanding. The ocean is directly at the retreat..so one can see it and her it all day. For us the ideal place for relaxing, slowing down, detoxing from city life, extended beach walks and some excitement with the (jeep) tours. We will come back....

The transfer from airport to the location is somewhat stressful....nothing the resort is responsible for but it can take 3hrs, there is only one big street to West Bali.....so best to consider the 3hrs when planing departure and arrival.

A Perfect Honeymoon Getaway – Beyond All Expectations! 🇿🇦❤️ We came from South Africa for our honeymoon, filled with excitement—and Kelapa Retreat & Spa exceeded our expectations in every possible way. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth. The private villas are luxurious, peaceful, and beautifully designed, offering the perfect romantic atmosphere for our special trip. The staff were truly excellent, patient and fun also. The upkeep of the rooms and the small personal touches made it extra special for us. The head chief was extremely accommodating and good. One of the highlights was the Queen and King Private Dinner package—an absolutely unforgettable evening that made our week feel extra special. We also had the chance to enjoy coconut tasting and Balinese cooking lessons, which were both fun and enriching. Every morning, we looked forward to the daily breakfast—we loved how we half boarded and were able to taste a bit of everything. The meals were healthy, fresh, and full of flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of Balinese, traditional, and Western dishes served throughout our stay, especially at supper. The food alone is reason enough to return! Our wonderful guide, Putu, took us on three incredible tours—to the Tanah Lot Temple, the Bali Zoo, Bali swing and the Buyan lakes and many more sites. Each adventure with him added so much to our honeymoon experience. Thank you, Putu, for making it all so memorable! This has truly been an amazing, amazing, amazing holiday. Beautifully designed property directly on the beach. Great onsite restaurant, their breakfast is worthwhile. We found our stay to be very relaxing and we appreciated the onsite offerings, we didn’t really leave the grounds for 3 days. The location is fantastic if your are looking for a remote getaway, it’s great - but if you’re looking to dine out or explore, there wasn’t much nearby and we skipped long car rides (and heavy traffic). It was great for us, highly recommend! The staff are very kind and attentive.

Communication with Kelapa Retreat and Spa prior to our stay was easy and the responses via email were prompt and helpful. Kelapa Retreat and Spa was everything we were looking for; it was quiet, not commercialized, the staff were helpful and attentive. Kelapa Retreat and Spa is set in a coconut tree plantation and the coconuts are harvested by the staff and used in the restaurant. The whole property is clean and tidy, plants, flowers and trees are abundant throughout the whole site providing a beautiful environment with lots of natural shade. The restaurant was lovely, and the food choices offered a range of western and Indonesian choices. We stayed in a garden pool villa which provided privacy and comfort. We were able to step straight from the bedroom area into the pool for that early morning dip. The main pool and garden overlooked the ocean and there were a few steps from the garden down to the beach. the beach was clean and not crowded and was also overlooked by the restaurant, all ideal places from which to watch the sunsets. The reception staff were welcoming (and reception was open 24 hours) and were helpful in sourcing drivers when we wanted to visit some of the sights in the north of Bali. The spa offered a range of massages; and other spa treatments and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach as we received our massages in an "open" treatment room, (ie there were two treatment rooms available and one had an open outlook to the sea as there was a half wall and no window - privacy was not compromised so dignity was still maintained). There are a lot of steps throughout the retreat which could be challenging. We had arranged with Kelapa Retreat and Spa to be picked up from the airport and to be transported back to the airport at the end of our stay. As we had to leave at 5:30am to get to the airport, Kelapa Retreat and Spa provided us with a breakfast box and water to use while we travelled to the airport.

There was nothing at Kelapa Retreat and Spa that I didn't like. However, visitors need to be prepared for the journey to get there. Whilst it is worth it one you are there be prepared for the trip from the airport in Denpasar up to the west of Bali. I admire the drivers who picked us up and dropped us back at the airport because the traffic is challenging - to say the least. It does take at least two hours to get there, but this will also depend on the traffic an could be longer - but worth it in the end

Our family stay at Kelapa Retreat & Spa was truly one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. Located in West Bali, the journey was a bit longer, but it was absolutely worth it. The retreat itself is stunning, with beautifully designed villas – I stayed in a Garden Pool Villa, and my parents had a Beach View Villa. Both were fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The peaceful and quiet surroundings made for a very relaxing vacation. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch – I've rarely experienced such thoughtful hospitality. We traveled as a family, and our driver, Putu, was amazing. He was super friendly and gave us a great cultural experience, showing us around and explaining everything in detail. He even planned the tour so we could avoid tourist crowds, making the experience even better. We felt very close to Balinese culture, and the retreat even gave us the chance to release baby turtles on the beach, which was a truly special moment. The beach was breathtaking, and the sunsets were unforgettable. On our last day before departure, the staff set up a special table for dinner right on the beach, which made for a truly magical evening. The service was outstanding even before our arrival, with excellent communication via WhatsApp. I highly recommend this retreat – it was simply perfect in every way!

this place is phenomenal. houses surrounded by jungle and offering complete isolation. the staff is very friendly and ready to help all the time. It's actually a waste of time to explore the island. Better to lock yourself in this hotel with your books.

Best Room Service i witnessed in my life, visiting twice a day and ensuring 24/7 comfort. Place is perfect far from traffic and noise. Clean accommodation and facilities. Nice restaurant with fair prices and diverse menu and staff. Private beach and pools. Nice collection of free and paid activities. Fully available administration and office.

Private beach. Seaside SPA and Yoga. Good food. Everything perfect.

Just a note that it’s at least 3 hours ride to the resort. I don’t dislike it it’s just to prepare yourself before hitting the road hehe
