Hadi, or Eddie as how everyone calls him, is amazing. Such a great host. Super welcoming, friendly and super caring to everyone that works there and stays there.

This is not related to the hotel but rather what I saw on the beaches near by. Unfortunately the rubbish culture in Bali is abysmal. Everybody, from Indonesian people to travellers, throwing rubbish on the floor, on the side of the road and even in the ocean. This is such a beautiful place and sadly the population is not taking care of it. I was grabbing pieces of plastic every day after my surf and after my walks. If everybody grabs 5 pieces of rubbish every day, the place will be clean within a year. Hopefully this can reach someone.

The location is great! The view from the 2nd Floor is great. There's a good concentration of good western quality restaurants and warungs nearby compared to other more remote parts of the beach. Easy access to the beach. This side of the beach is rocky but the sandbank is just a bit farther down, and you can cross the river/creek on foot, just make sure you're wearing reef shoes. Surf lessons are readily available. The attached restaurant serves restaurant quality Indonesian and Western food. Overall good and chill vibe. They accept credit cards for the lessons and the restaurant but bring cash for the other shops in the area. To get here to Medewi from the airport in Denpasar, take Teman Bus 'k2b' from the airport to Ubung Terminal, 1.5hrs up north (4.4k RP), you need to get an ecash card from the convenience store for this, about 35k RP for the card, and you need to top it up. A bus driver sold me his card when I went to ask him where to buy one, so ask around. From Ubung Terminal, take the bus with a 'Gilimanuk' sign on the windshield. Ask around for the driver and show him the map if needed. Fares are paid in cash, 40k Rp for non-AC bus and 50k for AC bus. After about a 2-hour ride, keep a lookout for a bridge and a mosque on the left-hand side and alight there. For car/scooter renters, drive carefully, there are no overtaking lanes like they do in Australia. On my way back from Medewi to the Airport, it only cost me 44.4k Rp (4.5 AUD), and about 4hrs.

I think the bedside could use a nightstand to place our phones, glasses/spectacles, etc when sleeping, the room is otherwise well furnished. Difficult to find out how to get to or reach Medewi if this is your first time.

This place went above and beyond our expectations. Just a two-minute walk from the beach, the location couldn’t be better. The staff are not only friendly but also well-versed in both local knowledge and surf culture. The menu offers a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—all at very reasonable prices. There’s also an on-site surf shop stocked with spare gear, stylish t-shirts, and an impressive quiver of boards available for rent. The decor embraces authentic Balinese vibes, making you feel immersed in a vibrant and welcoming community. A special shoutout to the owner, who is an absolute legend—always cheerful, full of surf tips, and making everyone feel at home. Whether you're here for a surf trip or a laid-back getaway, this is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back. Huge thanks to the amazing team who made this experience unforgettable!

The vibe, the setting, the location, the coffee and the fantastic staff.

The food could have been a little better and my room smelt very mouldy

Staff were amazing, live music, great food and comfortable beds. Eddie and the staff were 100% amazing, helpful in every way. Beautiful pool, relaxed atmosphere, massage and day spa was great, plus everything you need to go surfing is right there for you. For those inexperienced surfers, there are guides who will make sure your safe and have the best surf of your life.

Bathrooms like all bathrooms in Bali, not for the fainthearted.

Classic Island style still there. Locates just a minute walk to the main surf break. Amazing place to surf and chill at pool side with good vibes. Also good for coffee lovers. Edi and staffs are very kind and helpful. If you want to find another surf break, you should ask them. Good value for the money.

The room I stayed was located a bit middle end so If you want sunshine, I recommend you to ask for that before check in.

The location was perfect for a 100m stroll to point break for surfing. The facilities are excellent...restaurant, pool, family room was very spacious and located next to pool and garden. Has its own motorbike and board hire with awesome surf coaches. Staff lovely and very professional and went out of their way to help and ensure stay over 5 days beat expectations. Has a new surf shop too located within for clothing and surfboard hardware. Local and western foods and cappuccino available early for pre surf coffee fix. Very affordable for quality hotel and services.

Great location, great dining area and the best coffee we’ve had in Indonesia! Staff are super friendly and helpful, it’s like you become part of a family. Onsite surf shop has rental boards of the highest quality I’ve ever seen for rentals, offering lessons and general advice. Highly recommended!

· Lovely place! i stayed there 2 times and was really good! the staff are kind and help you with everything you need! i would definataly recomend and stay there again! the place is perfect for surfers because is literaly 2min walking to get on the surf spot!

the only thing i didnt like so much was about the check in, because the room was already ready when i arrived, but they didnt let me in! but its ok anyways cause i went to surf and left my bag at the reception

The host was extremely friendly and his family was warm and inviting. The location is close to the surf break and it had a very relaxed feel, which was perfect for our family. Loved the intimate and friendly vibe of the resort and the extra help provided to make my daughter’s first surf at Medewi a memorable one. Thanks!!

We only stayed for a night, but if opting for a longer stay (which we definitely will be in the future). I would hope for a small bar fridge in the family rooms, as families with small children may need this option. However, everything else was perfect for our needs.
