Lovely property, well kept and clean. Easy to find ...Penola is a small town. Rooms well equipped and modern feel. Room had small fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle , toaster and crockery. Beds comfortable, shower good but water pressure is low (yeah a minor issue but worth a comment). There is a bbq area - another guest used the bbq one night. There is also a communal laundry if you need. Manager/ owner on site - very friendly and helpful. Off street parking. Overall accommodation was great

The room was quite large. The design of the ensuite and wardrobe is one of the best I have seen. The grassed area between the accommodation block and the rustic reception (defunct restaurant) block is quite charming ... need more than one night to fully enjoy that, however.

Parking arrangements are a bit odd, but given the town seems to be quite calm and wealthy the likelihood of a security issue is low. No alternative arrangement is obvious, however. There was a bit of noise from rooms above mine, but the guests soon settled down!

We had a wonderful stay at the Coonawarra Motor Lodge! The manager was very friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect for exploring the area. Our room was spotless, nicely appointed, and a good size. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the towels were of great quality. Highly recommend this motel for a relaxing stay in Coonawarra! 5/5 stars.

Clean, comfortable accommodation with friendly staff. This place is well located in the charming town of Penola.

It is interesting that this is the first property of the many we've used through Booking.Com that made it clear that any cancellation or change in the booking after it was booked online would result in the cost of the first night being forfeited. We booked a week prior to the date we needed the accommodation and thankfully didn't need to make any changes.

It was very easy to checkin during office hours. Staff was courteous. Room was clean and freshly renovated. TV was a quality Sony brand.

The room was freezing and the small A/C took a while to warm up. Maybe preheating would have been nice. Clear glass windows in toilet and shower was bizarre and leaving it open to inappropriate photos being taken.

My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I had a microwave, toaster and kettle, also a small fridge so was able to make my breakfast and sit out on my little balcony. There was an area outside to catch up with friends and a BBQ if you wanted. The motel was just on the outskirts of the main town, a walk of only 10 minutes. The staff were very nice. I thoroughly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Have stayed in far worse motels. Convenient location, large comfortable bed, off street parking, after hours check in option, good size fridge with separate freezer compartment, balcony on first floor rooms, clean linens and towels provided

Very loud exhaust fans in bathrooms, zero noise barrier between rooms - can hear full conversations through the walls. No cleaning supplies for cutlery and dishes, of which only one set per person was provided for our two night stay.

The breakfast was traditional and very nostalgic country motel breakfast. It was great. The location was within walking distance to the shops etc and was fine. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the views were good too. The owners are very lovely and very kind people.

Stayed here quite a few times very large room comfortable bed, good shower. Nice bbq area with seating and tables. It's a bit old but I think carpet and curtains are new. It's got all you need for a few days stay.

One of our pet hates, fan comes on in bathroom when light turned on. We know if internal it is required but would be great to have separate switches.

Great location, easy walk into town. The motel is spotless and the bed very comfortable with fabulously white cotton sheets. The room is roomy and everything worked. Nothing really special about it, except it is really comfortable and clean. The WiFi is quick.
