Great location, well situated with access to the highway easily enough. Quiet for the most part... neighborhood was nice - east to navigate, lots of shops, restaurants and local attractions within walking distance. We loved the history about the Baker Hotel. Very nicely renovated property with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent bathroom facilities, kitchen had a large fridge so overall the room was very good.

There wasn't much to dislike at all. Perhaps better bedside lighting to read by was about the only complaint that I could muster. A full-length mirror for appearance-checking is a nice-to-have but most places don't anyway so again a minor issue. Microwave wasn't connected as the cord was too short but I didn't need to use it so it wasn't a huge problem.

This is a beautifully refurbished old hotel in downtown Cranbrook, B.C. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable, the sheets/towels were great, the wifi worked well. We slept well on a comfortable bed.

I asked for a room on the top floor because I'm sensitive to the noise people make in occupied rooms on the floor above me. This room was no exception - the people above us clomped around over our heads. Because the hotel does not have an elevator, the staff may have wanted to make it easier for people by only climbing one flight of stairs, which I appreciated. And they did ask if we needed help with our luggage which was appreciated. It's not a deal breaker, but if you are sensitive to noise, it's best to try to get confirmation of a top floor room. The only other issue is I felt the price was a little steep for a place with no breakfast.

Central location in an area with lots of shops and restaurants. It was surprisingly quiet at night. Large comfortable bed. Coffee making facilities. Nice shower and a very deep bath.

Our book in details said they would be sending a TLock code on the day of our booking for us to access the hotel. Nothing arrived and when I rang I was told just to turn up as someone would be there until 8.00pm. If they do not intend to use this system then discontinue sending these details to customers as it’s very confusing. Bath towels were a bit on the small size. It’s an old hotel and the floor creaked a lot. It was a cool night - just as well as the air conditioning unit sounded like there was a large truck actually in the room. Unbelievably noisy!

A nice old hotel basic but clean and comfortable. Parking was easy. A choice of places to eat and drink. We walked to Elizabeth lake which was very pleasant to watch the birds and other wildlife (30min). There is also a nearby park with a memorial to the Canadian war dead, having often visited the war memorials in France it is quite something to bear witness to the sacrifice of so many to wars so far from home - coming from the UK it is humbling. Nearby cafe for breakfast. Overall so much better than staying in one of the boring places on the strip.

I booked this hotel as a stop during my road trip to Calgary. Unfortunately, I woke up in the middle of the night very sick with flu/fever. I was only booked for one night but no way could I continue. I called the front desk and spoke with John (I think that was his name??, in my delirious mind I can’t remember) He was wonderful! Caring, understanding and accommodating. I did have to change rooms but he helped me make the move. When you are alone and sick, the world can be a scary place! Can say enough good things about this property, the accommodations, the clawfoot tub and the very comfortable beds! Was balm to my very ill soul! Thank you!!!

Not one thing

All the staff were extremely friendly, the room was lovely, bed was very comfortable, and location was great, close to many restaurants. The room was spotless and very well laid out.

Sadly we had people above us that were very heavy walkers and seemed to put on a marathon walking back and forth early in the morning. Because the building is so old, the floors are very squeaky, which you would expect, but we didn't expect to hear that much above us. If we return I will definitely ask for a top floor room.

The host, Jim, is very welcoming and immediately puts one at ease. This is the second time that we have stayed at this hotel, and it already feels almost like home. The rooms and the whole building, really, are well decorated so you really feel like you are staying at a classy resort. The beds are very comfortable and it is nice to have extra great seating in the room.

The windows need replacing to double or triple glass to keep out noise from outside, albeit there wasn't too much noise this time. I would also prefer cream or milk in small containers rather than powder for my coffee, but that is just a very small issue. Also, Tim's coffee is not my favorite. I find it bitter. Next time I will try to remember to bring my own Keurig pods.

Great location right in the downtown area. Walkable to dining and shopping. Jim, our amazing host, was so knowledgeable about places to check out and even gave us pointers of what to see on our next stop. It was very quiet even though the hotel is facing one of the main roads. The pub downstairs was convenient, and there was no noise folrom the bar or smells from the kitchen in the hotel. The bed was comfortable, everything was very clean! Not a speck of dust on any of the glass furniture, headboard or even the bathroom light fixtures (I noticed because the hotel we stayed at the night before could really spend some time dusting) The bathroom was also VERY nice with a beatutiful tiled walk in shower. Had a very luxurious feel. Oh and did I mention the amazing host! He was so great he gets mentioned twice! Would definitely be staying again on our future travels!

I don't think this property has an elevator. It was not an issue for us, but something to keep in mind for those less able.

We did very much enjoy this hotel! It was clean and very comfortable. All of the staff were very greeting but especially the man at the reception! He informed us about the farmers market, made sure we got parking and showed us where to find utensils.

A few negative things was that there was limited parking. This wasn’t a problem for us, but I could imagine it could become a problem. If you can’t secure parking you have to pay for parking across the street. Also parking is a little walk from the hotel entrance so you have to walk with luggage and carry it up the stairs since there’s no elevator.

If you are looking for an immaculate historic location in the heart of the city, the Baker Hotel will not disappoint you. The rooms and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The bedding is terrific, the rooms are spacious and furnished very nicely, and the place has character. Parking is free. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the advice Jim gave us on what to see in the area. I wish we could have stayed much longer there and hope to return sometime.

The lack of an elevator could be a problem for some folks, but the staff will provide any help needed.
