I liked the hotel/ex monastery very much. The grounds were beautiful. It was very peaceful, clean, well located and the staff were helpful. The bathroom accross the hall worked out perfectly. The breakfast was okay. I have a different idea of healthy and the bread was exceptional. My friend loved the breakfast. I paid for parking per day and was able to go in and out when we needed it; that worked very well for us.

I would have preferred butter for the bread, instead of gee. I do not like overcooked eggs. Some kind of protein other than eggs would suit me. I do not eat sweet in the morning nor cereal. The bread was exceptional.

So peaceful and beautiful! The room with a shared bathroom was great. - Shared bathrooms are plenty, very clean and have soap/shampoo/conditioner if you rather not bring your own. They provide a robe so it’s easy to get to the bathroom to shower. - Authentic Room was very clean, comfortable and had all of the necessities - including a sink. It felt spacious because of the high ceilings and the windows. - Breakfast is a must. I thoroughly enjoyed it - fresh, filling and has variety. - Location - perfect! Although close to all things Old Quebec, it is extremely quiet. Saint-Jean street is only a 1 minute walk. And it’s extremely easy to get to the port. I would stay here again.

For the authentic rooms, they should put in a sound barrier so when the door closed behind when someone is leaving, it doesn’t make a click noise. This is a very old building so sound travels. Though, it was fine. I just noticed it a few times. It did not impact me in any way.

Super clean hotel with lots of character. Very friendly front desk staff. Small but cosy room with perhaps the best mattress of my life - I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! I stayed in a room with a bathroom, which was a good size. Silent breakfast was an interesting experience and the food is divine. Very well located also - just a walking distance to some of the city's main sites.

The windows in the room are old and have some gaps, so if you're a light sleeper like me, you might end up waking up with the sunlight. We also had dinner at the hotel one night - unlike the breakfast, which is marvellous, I found the dinner (only available in a buffet style) a bit overpriced.

The monastery is set in a walled compound just a little downhill from the old city centre so it was was quiet and peaceful despite the bustle of the main streets. The shared bathroom situation is not a big inconvenience because there are several shower rooms on my floor. They were very clean and I didn't have to queue at all. Other than the accommodation aspect, the monastery also has a museum and it was worthwhile exploring its history and gardens too. It's perfect for solo travellers. I slept well and felt very rested even after just a night. Would love to be able to visit again.

I stayed in the single chambre authentique so it was the smallest room available. It was still a little pricey for a single with shared facilities.

The breakfast was excellent, lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. Everything was fresh and delicious. The entire property was very clean, including the shared bathrooms. There were sufficient bathrooms that there was never a wait. The location is only a block from rue St Jean in the old town. It is very easy to walk from the monastery's rue Charlesvoix exit.

If you book a single room, ask to be away from the double rooms. People speaking in a normal voice can easily be heard through the walls. In a wonderful place for quiet meditation, those voices are very noticeable.

We stayed in the rooms with shared bathrooms. It was such a pleasant experience. The rooms and bathrooms were so clean. The rooms were quiet and well appointed. It was delightful to stay in a museum and experience how the sisters of the monastary lived. The beds were exceptionally comfortable- I ordered the same pillows and sheets for my guest room at home when I got back. Silent breakfast was realxing and the food delicious, fresh and healthy. It was a nice way to start the day. The hotel was ideally located in the heart of Quebec City. It is pristine, has beautiful views and 100% walkable to every attraction the city offers.

The whole stay was delightful - I loved it all.

All the staffs are so nice so friendly and always ready to help! The two grils at the reception desk, Maria-Josicena and Audrey-Anne helped a lot. They help me to get a bus pass, and told me how to use it and where can I go with it. I follow their advice and took the bus to the Montmorency Fall, and took the bus to the airport as well! They printed out the routine map which helps a lot. I like the musuem too! I took a afternoon tour and I learned a lot. The breakfast is fresh, healthy and organic! There is no junk food or unhealthy food served for breakfast. Highly appreciated! The location is perfect!

The strange noise caused by the aircon.

Location couldn't have been better. A short walk (ten minutes) from train station, Frontenac, Visitor's Center and many restaurants and shops. Grocery Store (Metro) about 10 - 15 minute walk. Room was simple but comfortable. I had a Queen/Modern which was perfect for one person. Breakfast had a lot of variety - but no meat of any kind. Lots of fresh fruit, eggs, breads, many gluten and lactose free and vegan choices but enough options for any type of eater.

It was hot and humid for the six days I was there, and my room a/c struggled to keep my room comfortable. Opening room window is forbidden.

This is a former monastery (actually more like a nunnery) that has been converted to a spa-like hotel. The rooms are the actual rooms formerly occupied by the nuns and are quite small (duck your head to get in) but comfortable. There's a sink in the room but the bathrooms and showers are down the hall and shared by all the guests. They observe "silent breakfast" which is a nice way to ease in to the day. Excellent healthy food. Museum-like exhibits show the history of the place. Location is excellent, only a block or so away from lots of restaurants. A unique experience.

Well, as noted, bathrooms/showers are down the hall and shared but not a big deal. If you need a big room with a private bath this place may not be for you. I was in a single; not sure if they offer any larger rooms for couples or families.

The cleanliness of the Monastère is perfection - it makes sense that the hotel would follow the same housekeeping rules and values as the old hospital. They use a signature scent that is very unique to the place and not overwhelming nor overpowering. My wife and I stayed in the traditional room with the shared bathrooms and never seen any speck of dirt in them. Always spotless. Our room was looking out to the river, so it was nice waking up to a new cruise ship docked in the port. For my mum and aunt, both seniors close to their 80s, it made sense to stay in the contemporary room with ensuite bathroom and it was also an amazing experience. Breakfast had a lot of variety and is veggie/vegan friendly :)) Also, if you're taller than 175cm (5ft7), you might struggle with the 150cm (5ft) doors and low ceilings.

I wish rooms and shared bathrooms had more hooks. It's hard to get to your room and not having a handy hook to hang your coat on. Getting out of the shower and having to take a few steps to grab your towel is not great. Please consider putting hooks close to the shower door.
