Relatively new hotel; well maintained Good breakfast

A female Indiian reception staff couldn't help with my enquiry about cotton face pads; and said that Fives is only a 3star hotel...she belittles her place of work and the hotel. Am quite taken aback by her attitude In contrast, many of the other staff are really proud of their good work and very helpful; friendly and professional. Mr Haziman shines with his sincerity and friendly effective support. Housekeeping team was very prompt and helpful too Thank You!! Congratulations on having great staff like Mr Haziman and housekeeping team at Level 5

The location is convenient for the border crossing. It is only a few minutes walking to the JB Sentral. You have to use an overhead cross bridge to the other side of road in order to get into JB Sentral. The pedestrian cross has not had an elevator. We had to use GrabCab. The hotel staff could not provide the exact name of the JB Sentral for using GradCab. I would expect they should be more knowledgeable for this information. The hotel is clean and well managed. We feel safe. With breakfast, it provides good value for what we have paid. The range of the breakfast is good. We are really appreciated for having the breakfast in the hotel before crossing to Singapore.

The aircon filter might need a change. When I turned on the aircon, the air from it feels like in an old car.

I like the room.. small but clean, modern design with basic hotel amenities but considering the hotel category it is already the best. I didn't comment on the food and resto as I'm not taking any meals there. But overall the hotel cleanliness is super. And of course not forgetting their staff. They are very friendly and accommodating. Be specific, special thanks to Duty Manager Rupa and Front Desk Cherly... You guys are great. I definitely will come back for staycation and definitely will choose this place to stay and highly recommended.

The location, not to near but yet not too far from CIQ. Also for those who's driving, parking will be and issue. You drive and you will know. And in the morning, there is a sound of construction and drilling from the next building. And I can't get enough rest for that. But it's ok as it is not the fault of the hotel management. Water pressure for shower too low.

I like it that the hotel is new and clean. Spacious room because I usually booked bigger room as I needed the space. Staff is helpful and nice (from doorman, frontdesk, food & beverage staff to housekeeping staff).

There's nothing to nitpick and honestly for a 3-star, it's pretty good. Breakfast was not bad. Unless one expects alot from a 3-star otherwise I think Fives Hotel Meldrum is good. And anything one could not find in the room, can simply check with the frontdesk or housekeeping and they will gladly help out.

I was instantly impressed by the lobby upon reaching and even more impressed when I entered the room. The lobby was welcoming and the room was spacious and clean. The staff at the reception was very welcoming and helpful with my check-in and queries about the amenities and malls nearby. Overall it was a great stay which I definitely would stay again.

Nothing that I didn’t like but for now, the only minor inconvenience is having to grab from hotel to City Square or Komtar JBCC as the linkbridge from R&F mall to the CIQ is not completed yet but this should solve once this is completed - foresee a bustling R&F mall and higher demand for this hotel.

Room: Comfortable big beds,clean rooms and toilets are sufficiently equipped. Location wise: Construction works surrounding but Grab rides are our family go-to to get from one pt to another. Lobby: Fuss-free check in and service staff are friendly. Plus point: Our kids are in a separated room and they each got their very own queen bed when we thought it’ll be a super single bed. Entertainment: only local channels available but there’s youtube and Netflix (log in your own account) available so no problem.

The mini bar wasn’t what we expect it to be,it is only to store food. For breastfeeding moms who think about storing your pumped milk to keep it chill,this mini bar is not it. Although I feel it is a feature that can be improved because afterall,surely families buy drinks to have them slightly cool. We don’t need the mini bar to be very very cold but maybe just cool enough and not at warm temp. But for the price we are paying,oklah this is very minor unless you make the room super cold to make your drinks constantly chilled.

We booked the Executive Room for a night’s stay. The room was definitely spacious enough to store luggage and have ample space to walk around. The furnishing of the room was as pictured - simple but clean with all the basic essentials provided for. Overall a great stay for a night or two.

Wet & dry area of the toilet is separated by a single shower curtain, there is no partition so the water seeps below the curtain somehow. Would be great if the shower area had the option of a detachable shower head.

Breakfast was simple but satisfying. Nasi lemak buffet with condiments and fried noodles. and also bread, cereal, and croissants. hot and cold drinks available, i enjoyed my coffee. Location is not bad at all, quite clear to central jb/immigration. Also, there is a direct bridge from immigration (Bangunan Sultan Iskandar) which goes straight to the neighbourhood where hotel is. Lots of amenities across the road at R&F mall

my room was comfortable and up to scratch but the toilet/bathroom could have been better. cleanliness is top notch but space is very very limited. shower is over toilet bowl and shower curtain actually goes around toilet bowl. i was told hotel was fully booked, which did not surprise me. other than the shower space, it was pretty good all round.

The room has a good size 25sqm, staff was very nice, attentive and accommodating (there was no fridge in the room, we bought fridge stuff and the staff agreed to keep for us overnight).

We did not know how to walk from City Square Mall to the hotel. We had to take grab each time. It would be great if there would be a map for walking directions from checkpoint to the hotel.
