You can see the cathedral’s spires when standing just outside the Hotel’s lobby, if you frown and believe in it hard enough. As we were about to walk into Chartre’s drizzle to be blown away by imaginative projection of lights on Chartres’ cathedral, the receptionist handed us two umbrellas. We had already noticed her warmth and became grateful for her attention to details. For food, Novotel does Novotel and that’s fine. But, step out, turn left and you’ll find a gem of a Japanese restaurant. For Breakfast, we sat in a boulangerie 15 min walk away, it had a world record Madeleine on display (size of a small pet).

Nothing. i was prepared to dislike the underground car park nearby but it was the cleanest I had ever seen.

The Mercure is extremely well sited in Chartres, within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions, which are many. Breakfast is excellent, and staff always friendly and helpful. There is a pleasant outside table by the bar and the hotel offers free snacks such as fruit.

We have stayed at this hotel before, and this time our room, for which we paid the same price, was smaller and not so well sited to connect with our disabled daughter's room. There was a heatwave while we were there, and our bedroom window could not be opened, though the air conditioning was working, thank goodness.

Location and attractiveness of the place

we were in a room on the third floor with the window that would not open. this was to give us a view of the cathedral. We had a skylight and a window that had some metal decoration in front of it. The idea of seeing the cathedral meant bending down and leaning to the left to look through this metal contraption. I noticed there were other rooms with windows that fully opened.

everything was great, the room was very spacy, quiet (no noise from the corridor nor from the neighboors or street) and clean. Big shower! The place for breakfast was cosy with a lot of choice for food. Welcoming staff!

The website mentionned "parking" suggesting that there is a private parking, but it is not: there is a public parking even if it is close to the hotel, it was a bad surprise because not for free and not so easy than expected. Found a used toothpick under the bed, that was a bit disgusting. Some equipments were unplugged like the phone (weird) but was easily fixed.

The location was excellent, within walking distance of the town. Drop off location outside made up for the parking being a bit further. Loved the comfort of the room as well and the price…well worth it.

You do get some road noise with a landmark view; my advice would be to book one away from the road

Great location, near the heart of Chartres. Three minutes walk from the Cathedral. Check in staff were amazing - all very helpful! The room is very clean, functional and a reasonable size. Breakfast was standard hotel fare - all fresh, plentiful (and great coffee!) Hotel offers discount parking at nearby carpark (even though it's a little complicated to sort out the pre-booking process and carpark ticketing system (the carpark attendants were very helpful!) Parking out the front of the hotel to drop off/collect bags is an added bonus!

Location is great and the bed was super comfortable. Good space in the room too. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions for activities and resturants.

Water temperature was only warm, not hot and the water pressure was average.

Rooms were fine, large enough, comfortable. The location is great, an easy walk to the cathedral and old town. Value is spot on. If you drive, there is a convenient space in front of the hotel where you can unload your vehicle and check in. After you check in, best to park in the Coeur de Ville parking lot nearest the hotel, better still to reserve your spot online.

Not much. Everything was pretty great, except things the hotel can't control, like traffic and narrow streets, that's the nature of the place.

Clean, comfortable room and very friendly staff, specially the Colombian host in the counter. If it wasn't for her recommendation we've had lost the light festival. The location was convenient and quiet. Everything went smoothly — I’d definitely stay here again!

The room was clean and well furnished. The hotel was located really close to all the main sites which meant you could easily walk everywhere.

The only thing missing was breakfast. You can pay to have this as an add on but it was very expensive.
