The location is perfect, right behind the cathedral. The hotel was a former monastery, and the building itself is very beautiful. I drove (rented car) there, and was able to park right in the courtyard of the Hotel, beside the main door. I will advise to those travelling by car, that there was a traffic restriction bollard (which google maps didn't show, and confused me greatly) which was in force and stopped access. I found out that you can hit the intercom button on the pillar, state you are a guest of the hotel, and the police will lower the bollard to allow access. Hope that helps for anyone in the same situation!

Great location, right next to the cathedral so very central. There is a free parking at the hotel which is great for people travelling by car. The rooms were clean and very quiet. Overall great stay.

The town had lots of construction, so it was difficult to drive around. Also, the hotel is located on a hill and it's not easy to access/drive right to its parking. In order to access the hotel we had to pass through a borne, which we didn't know how to do. We had to find a different parking place and call the hotel, so I guess these instructions should have been shared in advance. The last 200 meters were slightly stressful because of this, otherwise - great place to stay.

This place is right next to the cathedral. They have a movable post in the street that you go up. You use the phone to call the office and they will lower the post so you go up. They have parking but it is limited so get there early if possible. Once you are there leave the car as you can walk everywhere. Lot's of restaurants nearby. Very helpful staff and the place was perfect for my stay. The room was fine and very comfortable. The breakfast was like most with coffee and rolls and such. All in all a very nice stay in Chartres. I highly recommend this place.

You can't beat the location, 2 minutes from the cathedral. The private parking was a key draw for us. The hotel is located in the pedestrian area and you need to go through a security bollard. Be sure to read the hotel's instructions before arriving. The room had a great view of the city and country side.

Nothing that we didn't like really. This is a hostellerie, not a 5-star hotel, so accommodations are basic, but functional. It's not that we didn't like it. We did! Be prepared though for less fluffy towels, two hard wooden chairs instead of comfy ones and no coffee makers, etc. It was very comfortable though in it's own way.

Located a few steps from one of the grand cathedrals of the world. Room comfortable and very clean. Breakfast (extra charge) is to kill for. I will dream about the warm fresh croissants and madeleines for the rest of my life.

I walked from the train station with a backpack and roller suitcase and it was a slightly uphill walk, good thing it was only a few minutes' walk. And the laundry two minutes away was closed for indeterminate reasons ("France") the first time I tried to wash my clothes. But the hotel doesn't control everything, does it? Oh, and it rained one day...

The building and location are spectacular, but you need courage to reach it in a minibus like ours. If you vehicle is broad and wieldy (like ours) and you are mobile on foot (which not all of my passengers were), it could be a good idea not to park in the yard, but in the other parking spaces mentioned by the hotel. Communication with the hotel was speedy and very efficient, with a good description of the approach including a map. Excellent breakfast, bathroom was freshly renovated, bed comfortable. My group was enchanted by the building and its proximity to the cathedral and pedestrian zone. We used the hotel as a stopover on a trip to the Bretagne, and this stay will be a valued memory for all of us.

You have to keep in mind that you are sleeping in a very old building in a former monastery. For example, I (1.80 m) could not reach the window handle in my room due to the enormous diameter of the walls. Rooms are small and somehow "monasteric", but completely ok for one night. Heating system was not yet activated (4th of October), so rooms were a bit chilly, but the bed was warm, I slept fine. Wifi is not very stable on the third floor, but again: This is a very large old building with massive walls, and given the surroundings, it is an abomination to stare into a screen anyway.

Simple rooms in a former Abbey right behind the magnificent gothic Cathedral. The place is used as a conference venue, and the rooms have an accommodation rather than a hotel vibe, BUT, they have everything you need for a comfortable night stay with excellent beds and bathrooms, it's an atmospheric building and the location in the very heart of the Cathedral precinct is just unbeatable. By booking here you have permission to drive into the pedestrianised cobbled center and park for free in the hotel's cobbled yard.

It's all fine. Decor could use a spruce up here and there but it's perfectly clean.

You simply can't beat the location--a stone's throw away from Chartres Cathedral. Also, if you like peace and quiet, this former nunnery is definitely for you. The accommodations are spare --this is not a luxury hotel. But that, in and of itself, is the place's charm. If, as they say, "cleanliness is next to Godliness," then this place is that much closer to heaven on earth.

The only complaint is that they don't provide a hot water pot in the rooms for making instant coffee or tea. (But they do serve an optional continental breakfast for an additional cost.) Warning: it is a very steep climb up charming but old and narrow streets to get here. It's best for those travelling by car. There's free parking in the hotel courtyard.

Super-helpful and friendly staff. Brilliant location very close to the Cathedral and a variety of restaurants. Free parking outside the hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast (€11 each) was good with fruit juice, yogurt, pastries, ham, cheese, eggs and coffee. We were made very welcome and we were glad we had picked this hotel.

Rooms are a little sparse in keeping with the building's former use as a seminary - this didn't bother us in the slightest, as our room was clean, comfortable and perfectly adequate, but may be a little disappointing if you're looking for something luxurious.

Well located hotel very close to the cathedral situated in an old priory . The rooms are very simple and basic however the bed was very comfortable and great view of the city . Free parking

Finding the hotel was difficult , we drove round very narrow streets 3 times . The reply on the intercom to lower the bollard to gain access to the area didn’t happen the second time . It was only the 3 rd time we tried as we were going to ring the hotel that they answered to let the bollard down . This was the town employee s not the hotel
