Conveniently located (about 1 hr drive to Yosemite Valley AND Mariposa Grove), medium-sized, clean and comfortable. Complimentary tea, coffee and drinks next to reception were nice, even with a coffee maker in the room. The hotel felt very clean. The AC unit in the room was new, quiet and efficient - which is rarely the case in hotels. I would stay there again for sure.

Some minor things could be better. For one, there was no place in the room to put clothes - not even a rail with hangers, not even a hook on a wall. The bathroom ventilator sounded like a helicopter propeller. The coffee maker worked, but was quite hard to kick into action.

The location is ideal for visiting Yosemite national park and the surrounding areas. It is a 1hr scenic drive to the park. Mariposa is an old miners town with a lot of good restaurants and quaint shops to wonder around. The staff in Monarch were very friendly and able to recommend restaurants to try in the evening. Rooms were very clean and had coffee, fridge and microwave facilities. There is a large free car park to the rear and a swimming pool. We had forgotten that a continental breakfast was included with the room and were pleasantly surprised, plenty of bagels and fruit drinks etc.

It can be a bit noisy in the hotel in the mornings when people get up early for their hikes/ park visit but the hotel provided ear plugs.

This hotel is in a cute little town with lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance. Check in was easy and the people were great. We had a very nice accessible room with good amenities (no view but we didn't care), and it was well kept and clean. The shower was huge and had great water pressure. The fridge had a freezer and was cold and the microwave worked.

There was no breakfast. The water was unhealthy to drink, as per the notice at the front desk, but the bottled water was not provided free. I never could get the tv to work. The beds were a bit firm for me.

Location! My room faced the street which was quaint and very pleasing. I was in town for a County Board of Supervisor meeting the next morning and your hotel is within walking distance to the Government building! The manager at the front desk was AMAZING. Very helpful. I was able to walk to Subway sandwiches a block away since I had gotten in fairly late. THANK you for the free wi-fi. Normally I don't need it as T-Mobile gives me unlimited. But my connection was sooo slow, I decided to try your wifi and it allowed me to get my work done. Much appreciated!

The room service lady was an amazing person and we always found our room clean and tidy. The room was spacious. Had one small refrigerator and an oven. Breakfast was decent (bagels, cereal, milk, yogurt, brownie, tea, coffee, water). Parking was available. An hour journey to the Yosemite National Park. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

The bed and pillow could've been a bit more comfortable. Also, the window is located close to the parking driveway, hence light reflects when a car is parking nearby.

Good option to stay when doing the Yosemite trip but you don’t want the lodge. Mariposa is cute little town with many shops and restaurants cca 45 min drive from the west park gate. Big and comfortable room, clean hotel, friendly staff and safe parking zone.

Our room was on the ground level facing the parking lot, which didn’t offer much privacy. Also it was a big room but the wash-basin was not a part of bathroom but rather in the room right next to the entrance door, which was quiet strange and impractical. Also right across the door in the hallway was vending machine with ice maker that was waking us up everytime someone wanted a drink in the morning.

Wife and I stayed one night on way to Yosemite. Great location, about 40 min to the park straight down 140. Hotel is short walk (2 min) down the road from many restaurants and gift shops in Mariposa. Cute little town. Hotel was great, well maintained. Front desk very helpful. Clean room. Plenty of towels. Excellent water pressure. Comfortable beds. Wifi worked. Our room was very quiet as we faced the back parking lot (free and plenty of space). I'd definitely stay again.

If you are going to Yosemite, you have to take 1.5 hour bus, on self drive its not less than 1 hour. I dont recommend Mariposa for visiting Yosemite, we must have booked some point closer to Yosemite entrance. If you go by bus, get reservation before hand on YARTS , bcaz in evening bus will 1st entertain reservations and then entertain normal tickets. We bough return tickets but have to wait for 3 hours in evening for bus boarding to come back to Mariposa.

It’s a cute little place to stay, 45min drive to Yosemite. Room was clean, and comfortable. It has a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Room service for a weekend stay was provided. Pool is small but perfect to enjoy a swim after enjoying Yosemite. Weather right now in June was supposed to be high 60s and it was still warm enough perfect to swim. Customer service is great at anytime.

Everything was great, the whole family enjoyed the stay.

The checking in was very simple. The person at the front desk was very helpful and super nice when I kept asking questions. The location is very convenient because you can walk to the shops and come back to the hotel without a problem.

The room was not clean properly, there were some clothes plastic tags on the floor, I saw one by the trash can in the bathroom and the other was next to the fridge, I didn't take a picture I should have. Also, I checked underneath the bed just to make sure I wasn't leaving anything, and I saw some trash there, too.
