The rooms were clean and spacious. So welcoming, with wine and an elegant snack in each room. The grounds were amazing, where we could enjoy dozens of bird species right outside our door. The staff was very friendly. One of the groundskeepers even directed me to a tree around the corner from where I was sitting with my zoom lens, which was extremely active with motmots and more. Every staff member greeted me as they worked. Such a lovely place! It was easy to schedule tour activities and to explore the town from this location.

The restaurant had convenient hours, but a bit of a limited dinner menu. We really wanted to experience local food, so had to venture into town for that. However, the included breakfast was excellent. Lots of choices, fresh fruit, hot options, etc.

Great breakfast, helpful staff and simple clean rooms with an excellent shower in the bathroom. We had a family suite with 2 bedrooms (2 single beds, 1 double) and a small living area which worked well for our family. Our kids loved the outdoor play area and gardens - we saw lots of butterflies and even a Hummingbird.

Not much. The towels were a little frayed, which didn't bother us but was surprising as the hotel was otherwise quite smart. We didn't have tea/coffee-making facilities in our room but I think we could have asked for them, a small fridge would also have been useful. Like many CR places they also used very cold (fluorescent type) lighting - switching to warmer light bulbs would be an easy fix to improve the ambience!

It is a lovely place in the mountains. The rooms were spacious and there was a playground for the kids. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain and things stayed wet. They do offer a drying service bit we did not use it. Also there was a lobby area which was nice to use for playing games and drawing with the kids. The front desk was very helpful with booking a nightwalk on short notice.

There were a lot of Americans and the breakfast was very focused on this public. We missed a healthy option on yoghurt and cereal without sugar.

The premises look nice, have a good atmosphere and there are a rich variety of birds around the garden. We really liked that we could use the spa of a sister hotel (Hotel Poco a Poco), that was excellent after a warm day full of activities around Monteverde. Breakfast was really good, wide selection of buffet. Safe, convenient parking. High quality toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, etc) in the bathroom. It was not expensive, but not the greatest price - value ratio. Would probably not return, there are many (seemingly better) alternatives in Monteverde.

The rooms and the bathroom are very small. The beds are really uncomfortable, worn and torn. Drinks at breakfast were of poor quality (fruit juice). It is more like a transit "hotel" with a lot of tour companies using, very busy.

Spacious room, well located and close to other restaurants so you don't have to eat at the hotel. Easy parking and very friendly staff. Not far to both cloud forests which frankly are the reason you are in Monteverde to start with. But you do need a car to get to them.

Breakfast could be a little bit better (lacked a little variety). It was sufficient but not excellent. Some stuff ran out (even early in the time period) and it appeared they did not have more to replace.

Loved the huge variety in the buffet, especially all the fresh fruits. The location, off the busy road was lovely, loved walking down th earth to table etc in the area. Nice walk into town. Very helpful, staff , loved our student helper Sophia… beautiful grounds and awesome sitting areas inside and outside. Rooms were small, but you have a beautiful veranda. Hot showers were fantastic. Great value.

The place and communal areas are stunning! In the garden you can spot loads of butterflies and birds. The latter love to come and bathe in the fountains. They have little pergolas with hanging flowers and tables scattered around for you to enjoy. The staff is tremendously nice. The rooms are very clean and they are cleaned efficiently while you are at breakfast. The breakfast buffet is very good, and has traditional dishes on offer, as well as your usuals. They are relaxed about allowing you to wait at the lobby for tours and are happy to help with any tour.

The bed was not the most comfortable. But it was okay.

We stayed here for three nights and had a lovely time. In particular, Jenni who checked us in was amazing helping us with our room and issues with the car hire. The room was lovely, spacious and clean, breakfast was included and the location close to lots of restaurants and shops.

The rooms were large and clean and the grounds were gorgeous. The staff was courteous and so willing to share ideas of activities to do in the area. My grandkids were sad when the hash browns were all gone in the breakfast buffet and even though there were only a few minutes until the buffet closed, they brought them a plate of freshly made hash browns!

The only negative were the numerous ants in our room and bathroom, although it is a problem in most locations in Costa Rica.
