Location of this hotel was perfect for our visit. It was warm during our visit so walking was easy and spent all of our time on foot exploring the city. The room was equipped with a kitchen which made it nice to make a light breakfast, heat up leftovers and full refrigerator kept everything cold. Grocery store was near by for snacks and meals. Cost was reasonable for size and location.

The room was a bit dated with the carpet and countertops. It was clean but could be better with a renovation. Service for 2 but missing silverware but enough for us just noticed.

The location near several big hospitals is perfect since we're here for my daughter's surgery. It's just a quick taxi ride to New York Presbyterian/ Weil Cornell Medical Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery. The rooms are well insulated from noise inside the hotel, but some rooms get more noise from the street. The beds are decent and don't hurt my back, but they're a little mushy for my taste. LOVE the kitchen - it adds so much to the room's comfort and convenience!

On the 10th floor (facing the street), the rooms were not well-insulated from the street noise - coyotes yipping (!), garbage trucks, heavy construction across the street, cars honking. The 6th floor room (also facing the street) had much better sound insulation.

Location near Central Park and subway. Great location grocery store and many lovely friendly restaurants like Tony’s di Napoli, Black Sheep coffee, Lilli and Lou’s, P.J. Clarke’s. Really helpful and friendly / welcoming staff. Room had space to have bags and lots of wardrobes/shelves so didn’t feel like we were camping out of suitcases the whole week.

Lighting in bedroom was very dim so hard to find things in cupboards / or in bags on floor/ suitcase stands. Crockery and cutlery in kitchen was minimal (only 4 of each item - plate, bowl, cup, glass and knife, fork, spoon) so had to wash as we went or even prep. For prep of meal we only had one knife, one v small chopping board and one spatula - no whisk, grater, large spoon, mixing bowl or colander for example. So it was hard to prep any meal. We asked for a kettle which was kindly provided.

Loved the location. It felt safe and like a neighborhood and was quieter than a lot of other parts of the city. Also, much cleaner and well maintained. The rooms were big. A full kitchen was a bonus, and the extra make-up space was nice for getting ready in the morning with 5 people. Also, there were hooks, a small drop-zone bench and lots of storage. It was well thought out in the design for having a family be able to stay together in New York without having to get 2 rooms.

My stay at The Gardens Sonesta in New York was truly enjoyable. The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after exploring the city. The staff struck a perfect balance—super attentive when needed but also respectful of privacy when not. One of the best aspects is the unbeatable location—literally steps away from so many attractions, dining options, and cultural experiences. It’s the perfect base for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant energy of New York.

While the property is a bit outdated and could benefit from some modern updates, this shouldn’t detract from the overall experience. The charm and comfort of the stay far outweigh any minor cosmetic issues.

The location was great. The staff were super nice. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner, but I have severe allergies so I notice right away if things need to be dusted. Would’ve been nice if they had some sort of food service or even more selection of things to purchase. It was amazing that they had a laundry which is almost unheard of a Manhattan. Great when you’re traveling with children. Nice touch that they have free coffee and tea in the lobby as well as in the rooms.

I had a handicap accessible room with 2 queen beds. Everything in this room works perfectly from the electronic shades to the spacious bathroom. The location on East 64th St. is superb, safe, clean, and near many restaurants, cafes, and hospitals if that is your reason for being there. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. You can order delivery from three nearby restaurants which is a lifesaver if you are very tired or it's raining/snowing. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Excellent location - walking distance to Central Park, MET Museum and so many restaurants/bakeries in the area. Safe area - we walked with our kids out as late as 11pm. Property - well kept, modern setup, 24/7 front desk assistance, excellent room service (they set up our sofa bed in the living area), spacious rooms and excellent room service (they even washes our dishes in the kitchen). Excellent property for larger families (we are a family of 5).

We loved the location, the incredibly spacious room, and above all, the friendly, engaging staff. Our room was serviced quickly and expertly and it was nicely appointed.

The bed was a little soft for my tastes but I like a very hard bed. It would’ve been helpful to have a dresser or other drawers to place things during our stay but didn’t really affect our positive experience.

The location in the upper East side of New York is great particularly if you are visiting MoMA, Metropolitan &/or Guggenheim like we were. Plenty of cafes, supermarkets, reatuarants etc. The staf at front desk are very friendly & accommodating, as too are the cleaners.

It's very very expensive but that is New York for you. During our time there is was particularly wet, & a bit cold and we couldn't get the thermostat to go above 69F (20C) also it would have been great if the hotel like some others have a umbrellas, now I realize a number will go missing so they got charge if you didn't bring back ? these type of features for the price would make it it more acceptable
