I love coming back to Schloss Montabaur. The care that the staff have for hotel guests, top-notch, not crowded spa area, massages, thoughtful touches around the place, very tasty food are all highlights every time I stay there. We went there this time for our anniversary weekend and it was absolutely amazing!

Everything was great. Just keep in mind that there is some outdoor walking to do every time you want to go from your room to the restaurant, the reception or the spa area (they are each in a different building).

This is a beautiful hotel with a comfortable living area, in addition to the very comfortable bed. The location is an easy walk to town. We really enjoyed dinner the first night, when they had the small Christkindlemarkt outside - even the staff seemed to be having fun. Dinner the second night was not as good - there were not as many food selections and really it was very similar to what they had at breakfast. The staff is very helpful and accommodating.

Exceptionally clean facilities, absolutely amazing spa/saunas/swimming pool area. Super tasty and fresh breakfast with vegan options. I loved the small considerate touches all over the place: umbrellas in every building, customer feedback screens everywhere, super cool lighting in the room.

The cheapest, basic room is in fact basic and a little cheap ;) but was exceptionally clean and had everything that was necessary. The walls in my building (Trier) were very thin, I was woken up at 7 am on Sat by room service working in the neighboring rooms despite wearing ear plugs. Staff were nice, apart from one lady who didn’t like that I came to have a swim at 9 pm (spa closes at 10 pm). There’s a lot of uphill walking and everything is in separate buildings, which was absolutely OK in the summer, but would be annoying in winter (and absolutely inaccessible for e.g. wheelchair users).

Breakfast is good including vegan options (cheese, milk, alpro snacks). Arriving there is convinient with a car and it is in close proximity to the outlet. The hotel is new/renovated and the facilities are in great shape. The room was spacious and they arranged extra requests.

A car is a must, but the parking space is quite narrow. The breakfast and spa are at the top of the hill, which is inconvinient and slippery during rainy days. The swimming pool is nice, but the water is rather cold. There are pancakes for breakfast only on Sundays, and an omlette is possible for extra cost.

It is a generally beautiful location between the castle complex. The staff was very professional and the spa and pool were just what we were looking for. Breakfast was also very opulent. It never felt overcrowded. Next time I’d be keen to try the dinner buffet …

1. The walk between the hotel and spa is quite a trek, which was fine for us on a beautiful late summer weekend. Not great for mobility-limited people and during rain and snow. The rooms were quiet. You could only so slightly hear the Autobahn. 2. The adjustible firmness of the spring beds in the room is nice in theory … but it was very hard to find the right firmness. It was either like sleeping in a hole or too hard and kept us up for a bit in the middle or the night.

The staff, the food, the surroundings, the garage parking very useful despite the 5€ for a night. The room was clean, the pool is nice, the breakfast was very good and the dinner buffet too. The rooms are not in the castle but you still get the surroundings. You should know that the reception and the restaurant are bit far from the rooms and it's a 5 minutes walk by foot on the hill, for us wasn't a big deal. Nice terrace at the restaurant with a nice view. The hotel is 10min. walk from the outlet.

Wonderfull location, great room and view, excellent secure parking and very flexible with our check in time!

The accommodation block is down a steep hill from the restaurant so consider this if you have mobility issues. A coffee machine in the room would have been good but there was a machine in the accommodation complex.

We especially enjoyed the amenities in the room as they added a touch of luxury to our stay. There was a complimentary coffee bar in the lobby of our hotel, an inexpensive minibar, robes for the spa, and plenty of towels. Breakfast was included in the cost of the stay and it was beautiful and very tasty. They even had fresh orange juice! The spa was very relaxing, clean, and spacious.

Nice hotel with own history of the manor. Buffet for the dinner and breakfast were very tasty! Minibar prices are very good!

Have a toilet in the room with glass (partly tinted) walls and door is not so convenient. Coffee/tee availability could be in the room, not in the lobby!

Staff made me some vegetarian food and there was some gluten free options available.

We ate outside and it was so filled with cigarette smoke! It really was like being in a smoky bar - very unpleasant.
