Our family (my husband, our two boys aged 12 and 10, and I) had an amazing stay at Hotel Antica Repubblica in the charming town of Amalfi. This small hotel provided everything we needed for a perfect getaway. The view from our balcony, overlooking a quaint narrow street lined with shops and restaurants, was absolutely delightful. The hotel's location is ideal, with great restaurants, café bars, and the sea just a short walk away. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the roof, where we were treated to stunning views. Originally, we had planned to stay in Positano, but due to limited availability, we chose Amalfi instead. This turned out to be an excellent decision, as our later visit to Positano revealed it to be overcrowded and overrated, with a small, dirty beach. We felt so fortunate to have stayed in Amalfi, where we enjoyed a more relaxed and authentic experience. Our stay at Hotel Antica Repubblica was truly memorable, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

My expectations were exceeded! The location was central and easy to get to (stairs were not hard at all, you’re in Italy!). The room was very charming, clean, bed comfortable, and the A/c very strong (room is way better in real life compared to the pictures!). The bathtub had jets (although we didn’t use) and the water pressure was perfect! The doors to the balcony were new and blocked out any street noise. We had a room with the view of the street and it was beautiful. The host, Christian, was so welcoming and hospitable. He provided us with bus and ferry schedules as well as made excellent suggestions on what we should see! Breakfast included many delicious options and it was located on a beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the town. I would stay in this exact hotel again if I ever come back!

Nothing- everything was excellent!

The location was very convenient for sightseeing, with good access from the port and the main street. We were able to see the sights we wanted to see efficiently, with detailed explanations of recommended dates, times and access to the sights we wanted to see. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The hotel is accessible by a path with few stairs (if you have a pushchair, it is better to check which route to take before you arrive), even if you have a pushchair or large luggage, so you will not feel inconvenienced even with children. Our room faced the main street, but noise was not a problem.

Hotel is in great location (easy to walk to from the ferry point / bus stand without the need to climb many stairs), with very comfortable, clean and well maintained rooms. Breakfast is served on terrace and staff is quite friendly. Christian is an amazing host, one of the best I have encountered during my travels over years. His energy and positivity is infectious and he is willing to help 24/7. He helped us in every aspect of the stay including ferry bookings, local travel and restaurant suggestions, even came over to ferry terminal to help me get over to hotel smoothly on arrival with the luggage (I didn’t even ask for or expect that, he did it proactively; but anyone travelling with two young kids would highly appreciate the gesture).

Very good value for price. Stephan was very nice and helpful, contacted us in advance and advised us of the best way to get to Amalfi. The hotel is nicely decorated, room was clean and cozy. Location was right in the middle of things, not quiet, but easy to get to port, bus station and shops. Would definitely recommend this for a stay in Amalfi and as a starting point for Amalfi coast attractions. An unrelated note: the staircase to the hotel is next to a bakery, so every time you walk there you get a whiff of chocolate and lemon cake :-)

Very friendly staff and great communication, gave good tips and info prior to coming and while there. Comfortable beds with nice pillows, nice big bathroom with sufficient towels, well air conditioned, mini fridge with free water, great breakfast, central location close to the beach and restaurants. Amalfi is in the center, so great starting point to the rest of the coast. Helped us book ferry to Capri. Highly recommend 😊

Christian and his team really took good care of us and helped us make our vacation fun and memorable: from the smooth check in, arranging a boat tour (and helped us get an upgrade and more suitable boat as we travelled with a 3 year old child), up to arranging the car that took us to Naples airport. We were treated in the most polite and professional manner - as if we are close friends visiting their home. If we are going back to Amalfi, we will definitely stay in this hotel again. Great location at the very heart of Amalfi - close to everything you will need and look for. Thank you Christian, Joanne (a Filipina staff who made us feel we are at home) and to the entire hotel staff!

This property is beautiful and conveniently located, a short walking distance from the terminal. The room was quiet and comfortable and the breakfast rooftop terrace has friendly staff, a nice breakfast selection and wonderful views. We most appreciate Christian, who took the time to text us regularly to see where we were while driving to Amalfi and met us at the terminal to direct us to the hotel. He offered wonderful suggestions on things to do and places to eat…he truly made us feel at home. We look forward to seeing Christian and his staff when we return to the Hotel Antica Repubblica on our next visit to Amalfi!

We were a group of 5 female travellers (Australia and American). Our first language being English with one traveller who spoke minimal Italian. Prior to arriving Christian (from Hotel Antica República) reached out introducing the Hotel and himself requesting our arrival time. Upon arriving / checking in Christian was able to speak fluent English and basically worked out our itinerary for us with more than enough suggestions for EVERYDAY including bus times / Ferry times and places to go. He was also able to suggest hikes to do and the timings of these. The BREAKFAST….WOW…WOW…WOW…we did not expect such and incredible breakfast. From fresh orange juice to an array of pastries and fresh fruit including a “real” coffee made as per your request every morning. We also had trouble having a package sent to the hotel. Christian not only offered to assist and speak with the postage company due to the language barrier he was incredible and did everything he could to assist with customs. The hotel offered room service cleaning everyday and additional towel towels if requested. If was extremely safe an was in an amazing location. I would score Hotel Antica República over a 10/10 if it was possible!

There was absolutely NOTHING we did NOT like the property and our stay. I have stayed in many places around the world. To accomodate for 5 females in a room in the centre of Amalfi. It was exceptional!

Great location in the centre(however it was quite) Very clean and comfortable,it has a mini bar with water and some drinks,they even had toothbrushes and slippers for everyone..the breakfast very nice and delicious very very friendly and helpfull the staff. Totally recommend!!

Everything was just great,just if you have breakfast,get until 09:30 cause after that the sun is shining all over your head..😬 (value for money-keep in my mind Amalfi prices)
