I truly enjoyed my stay here, despite it being located in small fishing town Amed, the cleanliness of the hotel is tip top! Really impressed by it. The room is pretty standard layout, no fancy outdoor shower (but that makes it bug-free) but I liked it that it has balcony where you can chill with the view of the bay. The restaurant is just across the hotel where you'll get your breakfast by the beach, very serene in the morning. Location is perfect as it's not too far from the busy area of Amed but still gives you peaceful sleep at night. Staffs were really friendly and always greet me with a warm smile.

Accommodation Set back from the road in a lovely garden. Able to eat breakfast right on the beach each morning. Snorkel hire - the snorkelling is amazing right off the beach ! Seemed liked one of the nicer warungs in this area to eat in the evenings.

Only a blind between the two verandahs & our neighbour decided to sleep out on her verandah so we felt like we couldn’t really sit out there. Linen needs a refresh. Bathroom a little smelly & outdated- but understandable as very reasonably priced. Too far to walk to the main area so need a scooter- there are a few taxis around.

We had a great stay and felt very comfortable there. We arrived late at around 11pm, and were given a friendly welcome. Breakfast had a good a la carte selection and we enjoyed it. The sea was right down the street where is also the restaurant. There were free loungers for hotel guests. In general, there were some great warungs, spas and supermarkets in the area. Even within walking distance without any problems but we rented a scooter right next door for a few days. The hotel grounds themselves were beautifully manicured with great plants. In the room we had a fridge and mosquito net.We would definitely come back!

The bathroom was really old and in need of renovation. We were offered room cleaning every 3 days, but that was completely sufficient for us.

This place was really lovely. My room was nice and clean, bed was super comfortable, pleasant garden setting and a nice patio outside the room. Across the street on the beach is the lovely restaurant for a simple but yummy breakfast each day and delicious fruit smoothies! There are beach lounges to use for the day which I used a lot while I snorkelled off the beach and saw amazing fish and a turtle!!

(1) Google Maps location confusing as the restaurant is on one side of the road and the actual accommodation on the other side. So also when you book, you think you're getting beach side as that's how i looks like on the map. (2) No water refill. It's strange, to say the least, that they don't offer free water tumble refill and basically you're forced into buying plastic water bottles. I find this very upsetting seen the state of Bali's and Indonesia and the world at large's plastic crises.

The pretty garden, quiet space off the busy street, beautifully furnished room, comfortable bed with a mosquito net, good aircon, good breakfast in the lovely Warung Sama Sama Amed across the road providing direct access to the beach with sun loungers & umbrellas. Good value for money and as advertised. Recently refurbished. Our upstairs room with sea view provided a good amount of privacy. Snorkelling gear is available for rental at a reasonable price from the owners. They can arrange a boat trip to the main snorkelling sites at a reasonable price departing conveniently from the front of the restaurant /beach area.

For us a garden floor room would be a better choice for comfort. Our sea view room faced directly into the morning sun with floor tiles retaining heat into the night. With the room being upstairs with a flat roof it was unacceptably hot and we had to make extensive use of aircon. The garden level rooms directly below would be more insulated from the heat. More blinds can be added upstairs to cover the extent of the balcony frontage. The large gaps in the shut sliding door should be repaired to retain internal cool air (making aircon more effective). The toilet system gave off an unpleasant smell - fairly common in Bali.

Unfortunately there is a party hotel on hill opposite Sama Sama and I had to sleep with ear plugs in as music was so loud on Sunday night. Beach very stony and i was not informed by hotel staff of areas that were dangerous to enter the water, as the coral is right at the waters edge, I suffered many grazes entering the water. Also would have liked a broom to sweep up small stones off the floor in my room, my room was not cleaned as it was a short stay of 2 nights, and bathers were full of small stones after swimming

Loved absolutely everything about Sama Sama, and I can’t believe the room I was in was a “budget room”. It was spacious, spotless clean, I was given more than one towel, lovely little terrace with chairs, a table and a bench. Charming little garden as well, with staff constantly cleaning up the outdoors area. Breakfast is served at their restaurant just across the road, and you have many choices and it’s simply delicious. I also ended up eating at the restaurant for most of my meals since the food was soooo good! Plus the location can’t be beaten, especially if you come here for snorkelling. You can rent the equipment from reception, and go straight snorkeling, as the property is basically on the beach. Plus you can use the sunbeds for free, which is quite handy as it’s a pebbled beach.

I was looking for an area with an easy access to snorkel in Bali. I didn't want to go on snorkeling trips. Read about Jemeluk Beach and a friend mentioned Sama Sama Amed area has the best house reel and beautiful marine life to explore, and she's right! Slept in family room which could easily host 4 to 5 people. Clean! That's important. Comes with breakfast - simple but nice. I had an amazing time there and will definitely come back!

The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable and very big. The staff were very friendly and helped bring my bags to the room. Location wise the hotel was close to restaurants and very close to the beach.

The room was quite dark and to let in light you had to have the curtains open on the sliding doors that overlook the courtyard (not good for privacy). There was just a single dull light on the very high ceiling, so some lamps could be considered for the rooms.
