Location, tranquility, beach bungalow itself. This place is definitely worth a hike through the jungle. Once the hike is over you are rewarded with a stunning sunset, beautiful quiet beach, great snorkelling spots. Great place to escape hectic life for a bit.

The battery operated fan died after less than 2 hours which made it difficult to sleep due to heats

Sunset beach is the nicest on the island. Super quiet and chilled and beautifully clean. Good places to snorkel. Can rent kayaks and lazy beach is just a short trip away. Great place to relax. Cheap drinks in Robinson and cheapest food on the beach as well.

Sunset beach is out of the way, no ferry access so it's either pay for a taxi boat (not always possible depending on weather) or walk 30/40 mins from the main bay through the jungle. Because it's so out of the way just be aware that there is no signal and very little wifi access. Also the food prices are more than the rest of the island (7-10 dollars for a meal) also note that there is no electrical outlets in the rooms, only at the restaurant where you can leave your things to charge.

We especially enjoyed the view of the sea, sound of waves while sleeping, the food at Robinsons restaurant, kind staff, closeness to coolest snorkeling spots, free paddle boards, hammocks in the garden, our balcony, thunderstorms at nights, sounds of cicadas, monkeys in the jungle path, books at the restaurant, kuy tev soup

The water in the shower was very hard and made our hair funky, and sometimes it started coming yellow from the pipes, but it was better after the rain. In our bungalow there was no door for the toilet, just the curtains. A few suggestions that could improve your stay- Take a lot of mozzy spray; Come with your own snorkeling gear if you want to snorkel every day like we did; Leave your big luggage at sunny bungalows by the rumi pier, especially suitcases - you won’t be able to carry it down the jungle path.

I liked everything! The beach is wow amazing, so beautiful. The staff and the food were exceptional. I like that it is rustic and remote with no electricity or wifi in the rooms, it forced me to really unplug and relax. The walk to get there is achievable for anyone with average fitness, just keep your bag light and wear good shoes. Other guests are all young/middle age, no party people and no young children while I was there. It’s mostly couples but I was solo traveller and had a lovely time anyway. This is definitely the best beach on the island!

I was missing some tea or coffee in the early morning. No kettle (or electricity) in the rooms, and breakfast doesn’t start until 8.

We are a family of four and had a hut with two double beds. Amazing location on Sunset beach with two hammocks and two chairs on the porch to relax away from the sun. The food in the restaurant is really good (try the fried rice with shrimp) and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

This is a very basic hut - as expected from the description. It is very warm during the night and the battery of the small fans could not last throughout the night. It is not possible to charge phones or anything else in the room, but you can do this in the restaurant.

We loved it here so much we extended a few days. The place is run with a perfect blend of organisation and chill. All paths and beaches are swept and cleaned every morning, there's plenty of space to relax, alone or in the company of others. Loved it! We loved our beachfront wooden bungalow with terrace. Sunset Beach had everything we wanted, and the 30 min jungle walk to get here automatically filters out large tour groups leaving just those who really want to be there. The owner/manager took good care of us, helping with ferry bookings, making sure we didn't get lost and you get the feeling he really cares about his guests wellbeing.

If you're used to PP street food prices, you will be surprised at the menu prices. But it's completely in line with everything else on the island. I guess paradise has its price! The food is all cooked fresh, portions are a good size and it all tastes really good. No trash - just good cooking. The mattress in our bungalow could do with an upgrade.

Wow .what an absolutely amazing place. It truly was like being on a desert island with the essentials. Except very little WiFi. Which was actually a good thing in the end as it made us totally switch off completely. Love that the paddle boards are free to use too 😁 The hosts couldn't do enough for you and the food was sooooo good. We will definitely be back and recommend to all we know. Well done for creating such a great place to come and relax. I have to say that it wasn't just our place that was great all the little businesses along the beach were amazing.

This place is very magical on Sunset Beach. Nice beach bar to sit and watch the sun go down as you have a beer 🍺 Showers and toilet are a good standard and conveniently located around the area. Savannahs makes great cocktails at the beach bar. A good place to swim with the plankton at night

This is quite a difficult place to reach. It involves a trek through the jungle and a 10-minute steep descent down a rocky path with ropes provided to hold onto. If you have large bags leave them at Saracen Bay and travel with minimal luggage. Water taxis are available but are quite expensive. Persevere though as it is a great accommodation

I have stayed along this beach and returned year after year, each time the beach changes shape due to the tides but it remains one of the most beautiful and relaxing places to stay on the island. Staff are friendly and helpful, free paddle boards available too! You can choose to walk across through the jungle but older or less able people may find this a challenge so I would recommend getting a taxi boat from mai pai directly to sunset beach for about $15

I'm rubbish at walking so found the jungle hike a little challenging; but I'm sure more experienced (and less lazy people) would have no problem!

Our bungalow had a great view of the sea from the balcony and you can hear the waves at night. The food at the restaurant was really good and the setting felt relaxed. I liked the jungle vibe and being away from the main beach

The hike down to the accommodation was difficult with luggage (we had large backpacks) and a boat option wasn’t available to take us back. We weren’t provided any information about the island and what activities we could do (we would have liked to have been given this information on arrival). The bungalows were very hot and sticky at night (didn’t get a good sleep) - we were provided with a fan each, however they only last around 5 hours. There was a lot more pollution on the beach than I was expecting. The coastal erosion meant that getting in and out the sea was tricky and you have the navigate the rocks (not safe in a swell) - have to walk down the beach to be able to get in and out safely.
