The hotel and amenities were great for a hotel which is outside the city center close to the fair. The dry-cleaning service was surprisingly efficient and excellent. The management and staff were outstanding. The breakfast was so-so for 12 Euros. It was not included in my room price but extra, however, we found the local coffee shop which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, a much better option for Celiac dietary breakfast concerns. We could get more breakfast gluten free options there because they made smoothies etc. I have to say that the hotel's coffee was exceptionally good; the restaurant staff are really wonderful and we had dinner at the hotel 3 of our nights in Bologna and the food was lovely. The front desk staff were exceptional and went our of their way to assist us with getting taxi's or giving us directions on just about anything. We also understand that a European approach to breakfast is somewhat different to a North American one. Their breakfast might be fine for others, so I wouldn't be hard on the hotel for that. It just didn't work for us but I would return to the SavHotel in a skinny second. It certainly worked for us with attending the Bologna Children's Book Fair.

I wasn't impressed with maid/cleaning staff. Some were friendly and helpful, others were actually quite rude. However the hotel management was swift to correct any issues, so it was probably an isolated incident. The standard of cleanliness overall was just fine. Towels were super nice as were the bed linens. It is also very quiet so you get a nice rest.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The location is okay, 25 minutes walk to town centre. We also had a grocery shop super close by. What we really enjoyed was the cleanliness of the hotel, and the room was spotless. We had refills daily of the toiletries and coffee pods. Also, there was a mini bar in the room, which was super useful. The breakfast was good, there were plenty of choices and the quality was high. When we sat at a table, a waitress would take our coffee order right away. The staff was super nice and helpful, they spoke English and we communicated easily. From the reception to the bar, everyone was super nice.

We would have liked to have a choice of vegetables at breakfast. There were beans, sote mushrooms, and rucola. Some cucumbers, peppers, or anything of that nature would have been great. Also, we would have appreciated if we were told at check in that we needed to pay the city tax. When we checked out, the receptionist briefly said that there is a city tax and we needed to pay 25 euros.

I loved the following attributes 1. Excellent location - grocery store and bus stop are 5 minutes walk 2. Clean and comfortable 3. Amazing breakfast - Buffet with cereals, English breakfast and an assortment of pastries 4. Amazing hospitality - They were able to hold our bags for the day and we had a smooth check in and check out 5. Secure neighbourhood

I would rate this property 10/10 however their snack bar and restaurant have specific operational hours. I arrived and wanted a sandwich however the services were only available after 5:30 and so I couldn’t order room service. Other than that all was well

The hotel is located in a nice calm area about 20 minutes walk from the train station with several nice restaurants within a few minutes walk. The room was very spacious and clean with comfortable beds. I would definitely come back next time I stay in Bologna.

Considering the overall high standard of the hotel, we were negatively surprised by the staff. Even though they were friendly, there were several misunderstandings during our stay. First, we were told that we did not pay for the stay and need to do it again (we did pay in advance). We were given a receipt with a completely different sum, which turned out to be for a different room. Later, when we asked for a second card, we discovered it did not work. Turned out, they again activated it for a different room number! And when we were leaving, they told us we should pay for parking and some things for the minibar - we used none of it and did not have a car. It may be that their IT system did not work but from a 4 star hotel, I would expect to have these basic things sorted.

Receptionists - great all of them, ready to help, smiley, positive! Breakfast - really good! Enjoyed a lot the coffee in the morning. Room - pretty good size, clean, with spacious toilet. Other staff at the hotel - cleaning ladies/gents, waiters at the breakfast area, other helping staff - ALL GREAT! All of them greeted us every morning, smiling with a great energy, you could just feel it.

Rooftop area could be better. Even though it is winter season, it could be used much better. Heater can be provided, and area could become a small area of interest for the guests.

Spacious rooms, very comfortable  Exemplary cleanliness. Very kind and friendly staff. Tasty breakfast and the staff is very kind. An excellent bar atthe ground floor, where we enjoyed an excellent Italian wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a very quiet area of the city. About 15 minutes walk to Bologna Centrale train station and about 20 minutes walk to the old center. We spent 10 wonderful days here. I recommend this hotel.

The staff was the best! The receptionists were so friendly and helpful and always smiling, a pleasure to enter the hotel and discus with them. Big thanks to Simone whi recommend us local places and where to eat in the city. The room is big, the bed and pillows very comfortable, AC was cooling down the room in a couple of minutes, very well optimez and not so noisy. The hotel is located in a quiet area, however there are planes passing by, over the hotel, but they are not disturbing. Great value for money, daily cleaning and changing towel + toiletries even if you didn't asked for. Great attention paid to details and customer care.

The breakfast was the same each morning, maybe it would be an idea to consider different breakfast some days so people staying one week to be able to have a variate of meals in the morning. There might be an additional light in the bathroom for make-up and have walk-in showers instead of bathtub.

We chose Savhotel because we wanted the efficiency of finding a taxi during the wee hours of the morning for our 6am flight as well as it's proximity to the airport i.e the hotel would call us a cab as opposed to finding one ourselves since the Marconi Express (Monorail) to and from the airport only opens at 5:40am. We didn't opt for breakfast as we decided to walk into the city centre. The hotel would tell you that you could take a bus or it would be a 40min walk. We love walking and it took us 30mins each way. It wasn't a deal breaker because the distance would work up our appetites or helped us digest the delicious offerings in Bologna and you know that the food here is sublime.

Regrettably, I can't rate this hotel higher because we arrived at a period when the hotel switched from ACs to heating even though the weather was still in the mid 20sC. Hence, we could not cool our room, which got to 25+C and were advised to open the windows or they could provide a fan. We opted for the latter because we tried opening the windows but we would always get a pungent waft of cigarette smoke. Hence, for a 4-star hotel, I really think they could've done better.

Honestly this hotel surprised me very positively! The staff is amazing, very friendly and super helpful. The hotel has a garage for guests, a bar with TV & a decent restaurant. The room was big and very comfy. Breakfast was fantastic with loads of options. It's not close the center but it's still walkable in like 30 min or you can take a bus. It's walking distance to Bologna Fiere.

Really no notes. The hotel is a bit expensive, I'd love to have a balcony. Really nothing I can add - this was a really really good stay!

This was our third stay at Sav Hotel which says it all.It remains one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Italy. The bedrooms are excellent,the aircon is powerful as well as easily adjusted - not something that is always the case especially in 38* heat, breakfast choice first rate and finally / most importantly every member of staff is friendly,efficient and a pleasure to deal with.Everywhere is spotlessly clean too.If you are going to Bologna this the top choice.

Nothing really.The only suggestion we would have is for simple maps of the area to be provided for those of us who don't always trust our phone directions.We were give a map of this type at another hotel in Rome and found it very useful.No criticism - just a suggestion
