Beautiful, amazing, breathtaking hotel just a few minutes away from town Guatape and 200m from El Peñol. We had a charming room full of style with a balcony and an amazing view of the lake. There was a jacuzzi on the balcony as well. After hiking this was the best thing. Breakfast was to die for and the staff is super nice and always ready to help. I would be honored to stay here again!

You will be asked to leave a safety deposit which I didn't know. Maybe add it to the description. But nothing bad really.

A beautiful tranquil hotel only a five minute drive from La Piedra. It was about a 10 min drive into the centre of the Guatape town. Amazing size rooms, unbelievably comfy beds, really quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious, and we loved our balcony. The staff were also lovely and very helpful. They helped us organise a boat trip, jet skis and a massage!

It was a shame that wasn’t a proper pool - only really a shallow cool pool and a large jacuzzi. If there had been a proper pool it would have been perfect!

Beautiful location and facilities. Breakfast and overall the food was very very good. The servers were wonderful ( Carlos , Alejandro). They worked very hard.

Service was slow : slow to check in , slow to get food at times. Took multiple times of asking to get water or drinks. Also something very strange happened with the books they have at the check in in counter. Apparently they are for sale and are not meant to be touched unless you are buying. There is no sign to say so so they almost made me buy a book that one of my family members took to the room and returned it.

The views of guatape waterfront and vaulted cieling in the king room stood out to us the most. All the amenities were perfect all the way down to the gym area.

We liked everything, but one thing we would recommend is have the "Tau House" sign and address on the right side of the driveway entrance. It was difficult to see when driving up the hill because the sign is on the left side of the entrance.

The hotel is perfect. The room was extremely nice. It’s a little small but comfortable. Food is really good as well. They have a nice bar with the good cocktails. The fire pit is nice we roasted marshmallows. (you have to get your marshmallow equipment in town.)

There’s a lot of hidden fees when it comes to room, service, and taxes. You are charged a service fee for every item that you order individually. And then on top of the service fee you’re charged tax and tip (the percentages are around 15 to 20% ). In most hotels in Colombia the price is included tax and service charges when you see the price listed. The wording is a little tricky in the menu to where they can charge you a lot of things without having to inform you. We were able to get a refund on some of the items because they didn’t tell us about the extra charges.

Tau House was absolutely lovely! The views were fantastic. Our room was so beautiful and comfortable. All of the food was delicious - especially the breakfast. It was a few kms outside of Guatape but that worked well for us as we could easily take a short tuk-tuk into town when we wanted to, but could enjoy the quiet beauty when we were there. All of the staff were super kind and friendly. Would love to stay there again!

The breakfast, the views, the scenery was beyond expectations. I loved it all.

Although my room was spectacular, I did not like the fact that my room was placed directly in front of the jacuzzi pool. Therefore, while showering or in the mornings when I wanted to get a look at the sunrise .. people could easily stare in at me (which it felt like they did while showering). This is only an issue for one particular room on the floor level, which by the stroke of misfortune ... I was placed in. I tried to change rooms, but I was not allowed.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at this hotel. The location for us was perfect just a few hundred metres up the road to La Piedra ( The Rock) we were able to go early morning to beat the crowds and the heat then back to the hotel for a lake swim. The rooms are beautifully appointed with an eye to detail , Robes , hairdryer, nice towels and toiletries, free coffee pods. The bed was dreamy comfortable! The restaurant was also very nice we ate dinner one night and had 2 very nice breakfasts on the terrace. Theres a large cold water jacuzzi which we enjoyed and the view over the lake and bridge leading to Guatape was lovely. We took a tuk tuk into the Zocolo to enjoy the old town ambience. Staff were excellent and theres good parking on site which was perfect for our Motorcycle.

Everything in this Hotel was perfect: the accomodation, the view, the food and the staff. The included breakfast is to be ordered by a menu but the portions are big enough.

There is a small fan in the room, but a ceiling fan would have been better.

Very zen and beautiful property, with great views. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The food was also great, with great creative surprises. And the location, if you want to climb La Piedra—great workout— is within walking distance, and the colorful town is a short ride away. Dont be discouraged by the low levels of the lakes due to the seasonal drought; it is still very beautiful and worth it.
