We walked 15 minutes to get to the slopes every morning, it’s right next to the bus stop and close enough to the heart of town without being disturbed by lots of noise or foot traffic. Very peaceful. The house itself is spacious so while it was shared bathrooms, I rarely saw anyone in there at the same time as me and I loved the onsen/hot tub in the basement for washing! It’s a great value for money and was much more comfortable and centrally located than I expected given the price and the shared bathroom. Kimmie, the owner, even made us apple pie one day. Highly recommend!

The walls were somewhat thin, but that was ultimately not disruptive for us.

Friendly guests and homely vibe on the mountains of Nozaraonsen. Great value and comfort, plenty of facilities including soaking bath in the shared bathroom, shared fridge and freezer and microwave for guests to use. We purchased the delicious Japanese style breakfast 2 days in a row for 1300 yen per person - it was so good, a nutritious start to a day on the slopes! Would recommend this cute find and also even cuter, friendly dogs the hosts have! Great location for the bus stop too - close to Shinden to get off/on the bus!

A bit more of a walk to the slopes than other accommodation but we managed just fine as we didn't carry our snowboards/skis all the way there.

I had an amazing skiing vacation at this homestay in Nozawa Onsen! From the moment I checked in, I could feel the meticulous service. The rooms are well - equipped with sufficient heating, allowing me to rest comfortably after skiing. The location of the homestay is excellent, being very close to both the ski resort and the hot spring, which makes getting around very convenient. Moreover, it provides a considerate luggage storage service, enabling me to enjoy the skiing time without any concerns. When I was leaving, the owner handed me a bag of banana pies, saying it was a small token of appreciation. As a person who pays attention to details, I was instantly warmed by this gesture! I've already shared this treasure - like homestay with my friends in the skiing group. It offers high cost - effectiveness and an overwhelming sense of experience!

The host is happy to make a full Japanese breakfast for you with a day’s notice. This was really good for a reasonable price. She was very helpful and friendly and spoke some English. The room was spacious and warm.

The hall way and bathrooms weren’t as heated so we’re a bit cold. We booked only a week in advance so paid more money than what it was worth I think. Facilities are ageing a bit but was still comfortable.

Very short walk from the Shinden bus stop when arriving in to Nozawa. Also very close walk to the chair lift if you’re skiing! Such a cozy lodge, quiet and comfortable. The staff were also exceptionally helpful with sending my luggage to the airport on the day.

Wasn’t an issue for me but it is a shared bath house for bathing - no private showers. It may have been written somewhere and I just didn’t see.

Short walk to town or to Nagasake gondola. Train station bus stop is 2mins away. Very traditional Japanese house with facilities. Although shared shower I never saw another person in it.

We aren’t used to Japanese beds so made it uncomfortable for us - it was a good experience!

Kimie was a wonderful host, making us feel welcome and gifting us homemade apple juice and baked treats throughout our stay. We loved the location, being a short 15 minute walk to the gondola and our favorite onsen literally around the corner. The beds were also very comfortable and we slept in every day.

Nothing!

Great location. Just a few minutes walk from Chuo bus station and Shiden bus station. Located in a quite area with 10 minutes walk to downtown. Delicious Japanese meal by request, which definitely worth the price. Room and bathroom are clean and comfortable. Owner is very welcoming and helpful.

None. Everything is good.

The location was very convenient, only 5 minute walk to where most of the stores and restaurants are and a 15 minute walk to the mountain. Or, you could walk two minutes to the shuttle bus. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and even gave us some fresh local apple juice at check-in!
