If you like quirky, then this is for you! Jose, the host, is one of a kind - he has put his heart and soul into this place and by the looks of things, is adding more to it! As soon as we arrived he couldn’t wait to show us around and we saw a plethora of unusual things (which I won’t list as it will take away the fun….apart from his 2 old camels - yes, they are really his…I thought they were just publicity photos!). I slightly down-marked cleanliness on my rating - this is only because it is sandy/dusty here (due to the dessert-like location) - our cosy bedroom was clean and very comfortable, so no problems with that - just if you don’t like sand/dust then maybe think again. We loved it because it was SO unusual - in fact, it’s been used in many TV programmes due to its uniqueness. Definitely worth a visit. Oh yes - DIRECTIONS - don’t follow Waze - it takes you in totally the wrong direction! Use Google Maps and follow the sign to the Aerodrome (which points in the opposite direction to the picture of the aeroplane on it…..follow the arrow, not the aeroplane!). Enjoy!

What an unusual and quirky stay - if you want somewhere that little bit different then this is the place! Despite the language barriers, Jose and his wife were absolutely brilliant. They are so enthusiastic about looking after you and are so welcoming. Breakfast was very good and we were treated to homemade marmalade and olive oil! The rooms are built into a hill and are vey unusual - they were clean and beautifully decorated. It was a pleasure to stay here!

A fantastic place to stay few a night or two , great host who really made an effort to ensure our stay was perfect . The rooms are quirky and the pool is a great addition . It is a unique place to stay .

Breakfast was great. Very savoury, very Spanish.

Difficult to find. There are no sign posts. Follow the few signs to the aerodrome. There is only one tarmac road to it, turn right before Tardienta. All other approach roads are gravel.

Amazing, very friendly and clean. Beautiful swimming pool and great restaurant we highly recommend this hotel.

As original as it can get. The rooms are fully furnished “caves”. Temperature inside, in the middle of Summer, is very pleasant. Very pleasant staff, led by the owner, José Manuel.

This place is totally different from any other places you may have stayed in. The owner and his beautiful wife can't do enough for you from welcoming you when you arrive to serving you your dinner. The rooms are built into the rock and resemble a North African hotel. With the camels any everything, it was great.

. The satnav sent us on a dirt track for 2kms, not good on a road bike. I will be back on another bike soon.

The fact that it was different and a little quirky. Staff were very friendly even though they could speak no English.

We were the only guests staying there which made it feel slightly uncomfortable.

Absolutely fantastic, what an experience! Month later, we still talk about how wonderful this place was. Exceptional location and hotel facilities, onsite restaurant food was amazing and hosts were very welcoming. Can't wait to go back❤️
