People in hospitality need to be like Brigitte! She was always happy to answer my questions and patiently practiced French with me. The guesthouse was clean and comfortable (there are only 4 rooms with private bathrooms) and it was quiet at night. There are also many pets (dog, ewes, chooks...and ducks and guineafowl which I didn't meet)! I was very impressed with the home made jams, bread and muffins for breakfast. Brigitte made me nut-free cookies when I told her I was allergic to nuts.

Not necessarily a negative; more notes: Because it's a few kilometres from the centre of town, you'll need to take a taxi or drive if you have heavy luggage. Walking is possible to the city centre, and takes about 50-60 mins. The first 15-20 minutes (inbound) are a little scary as there's traffic and not a proper footpath. But after that, it's a delightful walk on the shared user path along the Aude river and you'll end up at Pont Vieux.

The location was perfect as we needed to be near the airport. The host was charming and although on arrival the place appeared to be locked up, she quickly arrived, let us in and welcomed us to her unique establishment. The breakfast, though simple, was excellent with a great range of home-made jams. Lovely stay. Just check the listing - you need to pay in cash. Lovely

We are a family of four with two young boys. We stayed at the domaine for one night as it was close to the airport after our late flight arrival. Our host was amazing and easygoing and made us feel very welcome. We loved the huge garden space and our kids enjoyed seeing the animals. The breakfast was perfect for us with homemade bread, jams and biscuits. Our boys would love to go back someday! Merci beaucoup!

This is a beautiful old farmhouse with lots of character very close to the airport but still in a relaxing neighbourhood. You definitely need a car to get into the city of Carcassone and to get around The beds were really comfortable, the family room was really spacious and the breakfast was delicious. The host was very helpful

The owner Brigitte was an absolute delight. She was so very nice & helpful. Minimal English but easy to communicate with. Her breakfast was delicious with her homemade jams & preserves. We thank her very much.

The breakfast was a croissant, bread and several pots of jam, a chocolate pot and a fruit bun and tea or coffee. Our room was very spacious, the bed large and firm, the bed linen and towels were immaculate and the shower room was very clean. It’s in a convenient location not far from the motorway and also not far from Carcassonne. I’m English by the way, despite what the preview title says!
