Mark and Trish have created a very large beautiful family home - which they share with their guests. They are extremely hospitable and welcoming. The house and rooms are stunning. Spotlessly clean and such tasteful decor. Nice thick curtains to ensure a dark room for a good nights sleep. Lots of lovely touches like fresh flowers on the dining table, good quality toiletries in the large bathroom, flannels as well towels provided - soft fluffy ones too (this stuff is important!), and a generous fresh breakfast. In the evenings - we always like tea - hot water was available in the dining room from the coffee machine and Trish provided mugs. Dinner available if you wish to do half board. Easy parking. Great location to visit many places (Duras, Gensac, Bergerac etc) in a fantastic region of france. A fantastic 2 day stay here.

What a great property and such welcoming hosts - thank you Trish. We were visiting friends and were made to feel most welcome. The property has been refurbished to the highest standards, our room was large, airy and very comfortable. The lounge and dining room were lovely and breakfast was plentiful and perfect to start the day. The grounds were lovely but we did not get the chance to try the pool. We will do so on our next trip. Thank you again trish.

Firstly, La Girarde is a fabulous property, really well appointed and in a beautiful location - worth a strong recommendation in its own right. The house and grounds are stunning and our room was very comfortable and beautifully presented. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and fresh produce. Beyond this, though: while we were there, our car broke down and had to be recovered to a nearby garage, totally disrupting our plans. From the moment this happened, and over the next few days, Trish and her family were incredibly helpful and supportive in allowing us to extend our stay, and also in providing support and advice, plus practical assistance (lifts to the nearest town, taxi / hire car recommendations, use of the phone, etc) to help us find a way to continue our holiday. At a stressful moment, we couldn't have asked for a more helpful host.

We spontaneously extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much. Thanks to the warm hospitality of the host, we felt very welcome and completely at ease. The kids couldn’t stop raving about our wonderful time all the way home. Thank you, Trish!

Beautiful historic building with modern touches, and all the comforts of home. Host Trish was so kind and helpful and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect too. We loved our stay here!

A beautiful home, fabulous location, amazing hosts! Lovely gardens, a wonderful pool and sunny terrace. Had a delicious home cooked supper, we were given great tips for things to do locally, and wonderful places to eat and sample wines of the region.

The hosts were warm and welcoming and the environment was peaceful and tranquil. Breakfast was always fresh, nutritious and generous. The suppers provided were fresh, locally sourced and absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend La Girade.
