Great location for us near relatives. Good size room. Good breakfast

Lovely cottage, perfect stopover location for our trip from Wiltshire to north Scotland. Very clean accommodation and lovely large gardens appreciated by our pet Labrador especially the little stream running through the garden. Cottage was well stocked with coffee, tea, milk bread, butter, jam. yogurt and even dog treats. The cooked breakfast brought over to the cottage in the morning by Maureen was delicious and the dog was even catered for with his own sausages! Plenty of shops and takeaways nearby in the town centre just a couple of minutes away by car or a 10 minute walk.

Nothing everything was perfect

Lovely big room with excellent facilities including a microwave. I didn’t want a cooked breakfast on this occasion but there were plenty of cold options supplied in the room. Very friendly and helpful host. Lovely big garden to walk my dog round.

The bed was too firm for me and due to its location on the main road there was lots of traffic noise throughout the night.

Absolute gem of a find by chance. Maureen was friendly and welcoming and we appreciated the thought gone in to detail of all the little extras that helped the short stay more enjoyable. Didn't get the chance to sample the cooked breakfast this time, but there were good reports in the visitor book. Hopefully next time as we really want to come back. Fantastic location close to the town and the Nature Reserve

I didn't mark the score down owing to the fact the place did not appear to have WiFi, but the Cottage was so perfect in every other way and the mobile data signal was fine on EE anyway. Everything else was perfect. PS, Watch your head on the door on the way out if you are tall! Hubby eventually got caught out as were leaving.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, easy to find and had lots of useful extras like the fridge and microwave - you could easily stay there for a few days and self-cater. I was with my dog so it was lovely of Maureen to say we could use the garden. There were lots of thoughtful extras to make you feel really welcome. I stayed a night on my way further north in Scotland and then a night on my way home. On the way up Maureen helpfully found some space in her freezer for my ice-blocks and frozen dog food!

There's nothing that can be done about it but as the accommodation is so convenient and easy to find off the main road into Moffat, I found the traffic noise throughout the night quite noisy - but then admittedly I'm a light sleeper and used to a very quiet house.

Clean and comfortable room. All the basic breakfast stuff was in the room. Maureen was there to greet us and show us around and also took our cooked breakfast order. The breakfast itself was lovely. I also liked the fact that the cooked breakfast was brought to the room. It was really good value for money and ideal for an overnight stay as we were travelling from Torridon back to the Midlands and was an ideal place to break our journey.

Absolutely loved our stay at grooms cottage the place was spotless & very very cosy 😀 Maureen the owner was the most friendliest lady we've come across nothing was too much trouble for her she brought us a very tasty cooked breakfast every morning & a sausage for our dog bini very thoughtful lady indeed the grounds are stunning everything about our stay was made to feel special so thank you so much Maureen your truly a Gem 💎

Absolutely nothing I would recommend grooms cottage 💯

Maureen was lovely as always, and the cottage is a delight. Everything you need for a lovely break on a long journey North. Tea, coffee, orange juice, bread etc all in the room, plus a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Not forgetting the treats for the dog (plus the bonus sausages for the spoilt pup!) Sadly due to a circumstantial change we have to get directly home so unable to stop on the way home.

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage is clean, tastefully decorated, cozy, warm and spacious. Very quiet location just a 10 mins walk from the town centre, with a lovely garden view. Great cooked breakfast brought to us in the morning, plus continental breakfast items available. There are kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave. Maureen is a fantastic host, very friendly and great with communication prior and during our stay. Thank you!

Owner was very easy to communicate with as we had a late arrival time and as it was my partners birthday weekend away I asked if they could provide fizz and a banner, which they did and it was set up on arrival with 2 flutes. The place was spotless and cleaned with new towels each day and there was a beautiful big lawn for our dog to run around, all enclosed and safe. Maureen delivered a beautiful, freshly cooked breakfast each morning at a time of our choosing (and a sausage for his majesty!) and the room was equipped with bread, fresh orange, cereals, yoghurt, milk and filtered water. All restocked each day. (Oh, and dog treats!) The B&B is in walking distance of Moffat high street where there are shops, restaurants, pubs etc. and within driving distance of beautiful hill and lochside walks. Grooms Cottage is a unique B&B in that you are staying separate from the owners house. A really nice touch to have your own space and not feel like you’re intruding on anyone’s day/evening. Will definitely return!
