Central location in Moffat, with more than ample parking in the rear car park. (No 'turkey bites' on our car doors!!) We originally booked for two nights but, with Storm Amy bearing down, we decided to cut our holiday short and stayed for just one night. The staff were very understanding and kindly adjusted our Invoice accordingly. We did not stay for breakfast due to our early exit. Evening meal in the restaurant was very good and not expensive. All staff were very helpful throughout our stay.

Our room was on the second floor and the large windows were of the old sash cord type, with single glazing. Not sure about personal safety or winter chill?

It is located in the middle of the High Street and within easy reach of walks and attractions. The property is very spacious and modern with a separate bar and restaurant. It is quite unique with different stairways and a handy car park at the rear. Our room was modern and delightfully decorated. There was tea and coffee and the bonus of large,elegant mugs. I was going to take them home but thought Dan might have something to say about that😂. Dan and Rob were very informative about the local area with lots of ideas of where to go within our short time frame. Lots of attention to detail, they obviously care about their customers. Restaurant and breakfast food fabulous. 100% Recommend a stay .

location was very good . Staff on desk were friendly and helpful. Decor was fresh and the most has been made of an old building.

Perhaps colour palette left the building feeling cold rather than cosy too big of a contrast between white and dark blue . stairways need new carpets . Perhaps some pictures to make them feel part of building. there is an overload of pictures in hall ways . En-suite was fine but needed grout cleaned round sink and mould in shower grouting . floor possible lets it down .Breakfast was fine but perhaps a buffet would help . I would imagine a large period side board with cereals yogurts fruits and juices etc would be appropriate . And orders taken just for hot food .

the room was great with a nice bath - always a bonus. Staff very friendly Wonderful walk up to Gallow hill before supper. Lovely town - great history.

The only problem is that we booked breakfast for 730 but couldn't get into the main hotel from the garden room - and noone to open the main door either. Noone appeared to be around and as we were on a long journey we had to leave. Despite that we would come again. Oh the only other thing is that the e car charging in the town doesn't work unless you have a special card so we had to get back on the motorway the following morning.

the breakfast was very disappointing having stayed at many hotels and bed and breakfast in moffat i expected to get a orange juice and a choice of cereals but no i was presented with a menu and had to order from it, full breakfast consisted of half a slice of fried bread one sausage half a tomato, slice of black pudding and two bacon, you could add extras to it at an extra cost, beans, mushrooms, hash browns and toast all at extra cost ranging from £1 to £1.50 each item. i have always received everything at other hotels we stayed in.

Lovely bar and restaurant area newly refurbished Staff where very friendly and Helpful. Evening meal was fine, very young serving staff but they did a great job. Breakfast I had the full English which was well cooked and tasty My friend had the kippers which said they where boned but they where not My friend managed to de-bone The kippers she said they where very tasty but other people my not have managed the kippers, Our room was very comfortable Heating was not working but management sent up a heater which solved the problem.

Nothing not to like think once all refurb is great place to stay

great location , good parking, good food and beer. Very helpful and pleasant new owners doing a lot to improve this great place. The staff are well trained and hence I got great service for dinner.

Bedrooms , by the owners own admission are to be modernised and refurbished soon but they are still very spacious and comfortable. The beds and linen are very luxurious. If they are brought up to the standard of the public rooms this will make this already good hotel an even better place to stay. Great on going investment by the new owners is a delight to see.

The staff at the hotel were lovely, bed super comfy and the food in the restaurant was beautiful

Perfect location to explore Hotel was so welcoming, lovely staff in all areas,,nothing was too much trouble and all very friendly food was fantastic, we had breakfast and evening meal lovely homecooked food and very reasonable prices. The garden area was an added bonus for somewhere to sit and chill and wind down. All in all, it's a perfect place to stay, and we will certainly be back to visit.

There was nothing we didn't like.

We stayed for 2 nights. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was at an acceptable standard and the atmosphere in the dining room and the bar was excellent, as was the entertainment on the Friday night.

A little surprised that the wardrobe was in the bathroom, but we weren’t unduly put out by this. Breakfast included in the price would have made our stay even better value for money.
