the room was great with a nice bath - always a bonus. Staff very friendly Wonderful walk up to Gallow hill before supper. Lovely town - great history.

The only problem is that we booked breakfast for 730 but couldn't get into the main hotel from the garden room - and noone to open the main door either. Noone appeared to be around and as we were on a long journey we had to leave. Despite that we would come again. Oh the only other thing is that the e car charging in the town doesn't work unless you have a special card so we had to get back on the motorway the following morning.

Lovely bar and restaurant area newly refurbished Staff where very friendly and Helpful. Evening meal was fine, very young serving staff but they did a great job. Breakfast I had the full English which was well cooked and tasty My friend had the kippers which said they where boned but they where not My friend managed to de-bone The kippers she said they where very tasty but other people my not have managed the kippers, Our room was very comfortable Heating was not working but management sent up a heater which solved the problem.

Nothing not to like think once all refurb is great place to stay

The staff at the hotel were lovely, bed super comfy and the food in the restaurant was beautiful

great location , good parking, good food and beer. Very helpful and pleasant new owners doing a lot to improve this great place. The staff are well trained and hence I got great service for dinner.

Bedrooms , by the owners own admission are to be modernised and refurbished soon but they are still very spacious and comfortable. The beds and linen are very luxurious. If they are brought up to the standard of the public rooms this will make this already good hotel an even better place to stay. Great on going investment by the new owners is a delight to see.

The hotel had been recent bought by new owners who are committed to improving the environment and facilities and making it a venue welcoming of locals and visitors. There was evidence of some upgrading to public areas which was very tastefully done The food was very good, the Sunday carvery was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive.

There were no staff on duty in the building overnight. I wondered how the building would be evacuated, whio would be directing guests to safety, and taking a roll call in case of fire.

We stayed for 2 nights. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was at an acceptable standard and the atmosphere in the dining room and the bar was excellent, as was the entertainment on the Friday night.

A little surprised that the wardrobe was in the bathroom, but we weren’t unduly put out by this. Breakfast included in the price would have made our stay even better value for money.

Stayed over night on route home Dinner was excellent and Breakfast met our requirements as not big eaters. Staff were welcoming and attentive; nothing was too much trouble and service came with a smile.

We have known this hotel for many years and are aware of stairs to reach higher rooms. This can be difficult so prefer where possible to have lower floor room. However, our room was comfortble and met requirements despite the stairs.

Very convenient in the centre of Moffat. The new owners had only been in a few weeks and although there was major renovations taking place this did not distract from our stay. Once finished, this will be an excellent hotel with plenty of parking at the rear. Definitely one to consider for a future stay.

Breakfast wasn’t included and there were no pricing options on the menu. The conclusion being whatever you chose, breakfast would cost £12.50/head. Only one member of staff serving at breakfast meant that delivery was a little slow.

We were informed that there was a problem with the central heating but when we arrived it was warm and welcoming. the receptionist was very cheerful and helpful and explained that there was evening entertainment that night. The rooms were functional and warm but lacked a little maintenance TLC. The evening meal was tasty, filling and the service was prompt and cheerful. Breakfast was at the time we requested and used locally sourced ingredients, very tasty but maybe lacking beans for a Full breakfast.

The temporary lack of heating and a few more guests would have created a slightly better atmosphere, this was probably due to people being informed of the heating problem. The change of menu meant that our favorite, Kedgeree, was no longer on offer.

The Annandale is located in a great town with plenty of shops and amenities. We were on a motorbike trip and the hotel is in a great location to explore the local roads. The motorbikes are kept in a safe car park at the rear of the hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and I have noted that it is in the process of refurbishing. The rooms are good but some of the building is in need of attention.
