Everything! Firstly the location is lovely: you get all of the amazing sounds of birds and wildlife surrounding the accommodation and it has a very relaxing atmosphere. The owners and staff are all so welcoming and friendly, they made me feel comfortable and at home. They were very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed and gave me advice on transport etc. They organised a day's safari for me in which I was picked up and dropped off at the accommodation, making everything very smooth and easy. The food and juices were also brilliant, freshly prepared and very very tasty. Comfy bed, clean room and great AC. This has by far been my best stay in sri lanka, I didn't want to leave!

Thilina and his family were great host. They went over and beyond to make me feel welcome and enjoy my stay. They also facilitated to arrange my safari to Yala National Park. Food was outstanding and nothing was a bother. Bed was very comfortable, great shower and beautiful place with beautiful views to the river. Thank you Thilina, I have never encountered a nicer, genuine and more helpful host. Highly recommend River Face Inn, one of the highlights of my trip. I will definitely come back😊

The location of the property was excellent. Lovely cool winds and surrounded by the river. The staff was also really nice and polite, going above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are quite roomy, with nice beds. On the last morning, we had a typical breakfast, which I highly suggest. Overall, a fantastic stay and excellent value for money. BTW, Tissamaharama has more to offer than just wildlife safaris. Check out the local birds near the lakes. Amazing! 🤩

The lodging was spotlessly clean, cosy, roomy, and incredibly delightful. Working A/C and WiFi. It was a delicious and substantial breakfast. We went on a safari with the host, which was really well planned and of very high quality. It was a lovely and unforgettable experience when he also took us birdwatching and on an evening drive around the lakes. He was amiable, supportive, and always had insightful counsel to provide. Overall, great value for the money. This place is highly recommended!

Wooow ! This place felt like home 😊 after two weeks of traveling Sri Lanka this is by far the best stay we had. The staff specially a guy called Amil were so welcoming and served us with the best smoothies we had. We hung out and had soo many lovely chats! They have a beautiful garden with a nice view of a river that is near by. Since this stay is near Yala national park they also organised a wonderful safari. Thank you guys for everything! Amazing location. Stayed in the tree house over looking the river. Great for wild life spotting, seen crocodiles, horn bills, owls, monkeys, and many other birds. Hosts are very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Let us use the kitchen. The only noise in the neighbourhood was the wildlife and temple. Short Tuk tuk ride to town. Staff informed us of local beauty spots and the fruit bat trees, which is a must to see at dusk. We stayed 3 nights and can recommend this place.

My experience at the River Face Inn Hotel was excellent, having recently checked in. They showed me the greatest hospitality from the minute I arrived. To make sure I was comfortable and satisfied, the personnel went above and beyond. Travelling throughout the neighbourhood was easy because to the hotel's dependable and timely cab service. The drivers provided useful advice to improve my stay and were informed about the best places to go in the area. The hotel-arranged safari was one of the highlights of my stay. The guides were knowledgeable about animals and professional; everything was well-organized. It was a memorable experience because I got to observe a variety of creatures up close. The hotel's meals were delicious. Every dish, which featured a fusion of regional and global flavours, was expertly cooked. The restaurant's lovely atmosphere and good service enhanced the meal experience. All in all, the superb services and friendly atmosphere of the River Face Inn Hotel much beyond my expectations. I wholeheartedly endorse it to anyone hoping for a relaxing and educational visit.

Our room has a balcony facing the River, where we saw a lot of different colourful birds. It was also very private. The sitting area was very spacious and we can watch the River slowly flowing by. Very relaxing. The balcony also is in the shade all day long, so with a gentle breeze, it was very comfortable to sit outside and chill. At night time, mosquito coils were lit to ward off the pesky mosquitoes, but having repellants would provide more protection. The room itself was adequate for our needs. Bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning very powerful. The family and their assistant was the star of the show. They were always ready to cater to our reasonable requests, ie mugs, kettle, adapter etc etc. Although the fine print on the description did not list kettle or hairdryer, they promptly provided these at no extra charge. Only soap was provided, so if you are staying longer, bring your own toiletries. Food … glorious food. We had our breakfasts and most dinners at the Inn, and I agree with the other guests who wrote about their dishes. They were super delicious. We chose Sri Lankan breakfasts x 3 mornings, everyday was a bit different, and they were all very good.. Dinner was either rice and curry, chicken soup or fried rice/noodles plus banana fritters with treacle. All were delicious and fair price. The garden was very well maintained with lots of interesting plants and fruit trees. There were multiple seating areas spread throughout the property, to enjoy the River view and the garden. Walk to town was also not too bad. 20 minutes or so leisurely walking will take you to town, where you can find 2 supermarkets, bakery and eateries.

Water pressure was a bit low. They are fixing it along with other renovations going on right now. It was not a deal breaker though. There is adequate hot water. Gets the job done, just slower.

Loved our stay at Yala River Face Inn and would highly recommend. The facilities were comfortable and the air conditioning was excellent in our room. The staff were great, very friendly and accommodating and organised a safari tour for us. We had an amazing and filling breakfast included with our room. Only things to note are that the wi-fi was patchy in our room so make sure you have data as well and it is a bit of a walk to the town.
