The room was spacious and clean, the hostel is very welcoming and very nice staff. Perfect location is you need to do the safari because you will need to rest and that very calm. They also have a restaurant, and the pick you up from the bus station + really responsive by whatsapp for any information.

Is only about the "safari", I feel like if we book this tour with them we should have a better quality of tour compared to getyourguide or tripadvisor, regarding the food. The tour was good like any other tour, but the lunch was minimal... No fresh water when we eat, no meat or fish. juste potatoes, carrot and rice in a Tupperware. I will recommend to improve the lunch a little bit more. Otherwise the rest was perfect :)

Amazing Safari Experience and Comfortable Stay! We had a fantastic stay at La Safari Inn! The accommodation was clean, peaceful, and perfectly located for visiting Yala National Park. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. We booked a safari through them, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! The driver was very experienced and did his best to show us as many animals as possible — we were lucky to see elephants, crocodiles, many birds, and even a leopard! What really made the difference was the personal care and attention we received. From the early morning breakfast before the safari to the relaxing atmosphere at the inn afterwards, everything was well-organized and thoughtful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Yala! We would definitely stay here again.

This property is truly a hidden gem! The garden is beautifully landscaped and filled with a variety of fruit trees, creating a peaceful and lush atmosphere that invites you to relax. The grounds are expansive, giving guests plenty of space to unwind, whether on the terrace or in the on-site restaurant, which adds to the convenience of the stay. The rooms are spacious and feature cozy, comfortable beds that ensure a good night’s sleep. Cleanliness is top-notch throughout the property, making it feel fresh and welcoming. This is an ideal place for anyone looking to enjoy nature and relaxation with all the comforts of a well-maintained property. The owners of this property are exceptionally welcoming and attentive, going above and beyond to make guests feel at home. They greeted me with a complimentary welcome drink upon arrival and offered a farewell drink at the end, adding a warm, personal touch to the stay. They also helped organize my onward travel plans, which made everything so much easier. In their courtyard, they grow delicious mangoes, which they gladly shared—such a delightful treat! Their hospitality and attention to detail make this place truly memorable and inviting.

Quiet environment, a lodge located very close to Tissa city. There is a short walk from the hotel to the city. Free bicycles are also available to ride into town. There is also a very friendly staff. We also had dinner here and it was very delicious. They have their own restaurant. They provided us with a good driver and a very comfortable jeep to go on a Yala safari the next day. Safari is very good. The driver is excellent. We saw many animals, including leopards. If you are going on safari, this is a very good place for you. They provide everything you need at a very reasonable price.

Wow! Great value for money. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a mosquito net provided. I booked the full day safari through the hostel which was really easy and wow what a day! We saw 3 leopards, lots of elephants and many other animals. I have met a lot of people on my travels who went to Yala and didn’t manage to see any leopards - but the driver they use at la safari inn is amazing. He knows exactly what he’s doing and makes sure you see all the animals. Highly highly recommend the full day safari.

My room didn’t have Aircon so I was provided 2 fans but they weren’t very powerful so my room was really hot. When I stay again I’ll book one of the rooms with Aircon.

The staff at the hotel are so so kind and very well versed in getting you on your safari in Yala. The tour company they use are absolutely phenomenal. We got so lucky with our guide. He really cared about our experience and asked us at the outset whether we wanted to spend the time trying to find leopards or to take things a bit more slowly. We opted for the latter but he still clearly had a great network with great intel and we managed to be amongst the first of the people in the park to see two!!! leopards. We also saw pretty much every other animal you could wish to see at Yala. One of the best days of my life and an amazing experience.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The owner went above and beyond for me to have the best stay. He went above all and offered me a pick up at my current location. They organised the whole safari trip to Yala National Park with breakfast and lunch included. I had an amazing stay and a good night rest, the staff were amazing too and the food especially the breakfast was amazing. Good communication from the beginning of my booking until the end. Thank you!

There wasn’t really a tour guide included in the safari to explain things about this amazing National park or the animals.

The owner Ranjit and his team were amazing from the start and very warm and welcoming. We had a banana smoothie on arrival, which was really nice, as was all the food they served. We chose this place not only for accommodation, but for the safari tour, which did not disappoint. The jeep was very luxurious and particularly compared to most in the park. Our driver gave us a memorable trip, which did not just revolve around chasing the leopard, but also seeing all the other wildlife and explaining all the different animals there. Seeing a herd of elephants cross the road with the sun rising and no other jeeps around was very special. We were also lucky to see 2 leopards, which was the icing on the cake for our stay here. Staff organised a very reasonably priced taxi to Mirissa. We also loved their outdoor patio dining area where we got to chat to other guests and share experiences. We stayed in the "fan only, no hot water" room which was absolutely fine.

We stayed a few nights here in a triple room with our young daughter. She loved relaxing in the hammock whilst not on safari! Chandy one of the hosts was so lovely with her, showing her the local animals in the gardens and looking after her! We loved the refreshing watermelon welcome drink! The rooms are really basic but clean and comfortable. My only request would be a shelf in the shower for toiletries! It’s lovely and quiet here which is good when you’ve got to be up early! Breakfast options on safari were fruit and toasties and we also tried the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast on the day we didn’t do a safari, which was tasty. The portions were huge! The hotel organised a great safari with us, we saw leopards, elephants and lots of other beautiful animals. The hosts were really helpful organising our onward transfer for a great price too! Highly recommend you try chef lady and smoky kitchen restaurants that are nearby and a walk around the lake to see Batman tree during your stay here!

The WiFi isn’t great if you want to stream anything.

I had a great time at my stay in La Safari Inn. The staff was extraordinary kind, we had some great conversations. I felt so welcomed, that I even extended my stay for one more night. The rooms are like seen on the pictures. They also offer taxi/shuttle service, which was cheaper than from other providers. So I got picked up in Ella and a direct taxi ride to Tissamaharama. I also booked a Safari with them for the Yala National Park, which was fantastic. Highly recommend to stay here, if you want to do a safari in Yala. We were lucky as well that the owner drove us around the city at the first day and showed us a lot of beautiful spots.
