Welcome to a beautiful garden with loved ones. We booked a wonderful safari tour through the lodge with a knowledgeable driver as guide. The box includes breakfast, snacks, drinks. Saw many animals and then had a delicious lunch. Friendly host and staff and the room was clean and perfect. Highly recommend bird (bats) lake tour with them. Thanks again everyone.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Nehansa Resort and Safari in Tissamaharama, just 30 minutes away from Yala National Park. The staff's warmth and dedication made our stay exceptional. They were incredibly helpful and ensured we had a memorable experience. The resort's serene ambiance, spacious rooms, and beautiful garden provided comfort and relaxation. The on-site restaurant served delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. This resort offers outstanding value for money, given its quality and proximity to Yala National Park. Conveniently located near the park entrance, it made our early morning safaris effortless. Meeting the owner, Mr. Anura, was a delightful experience. His genuine kindness and passion for the resort and wildlife added a personal touch to our stay. Nehansa Resort and Safari is a must-visit for Yala National Park adventurers. The exceptional staff, good facilities, affordability, easy access, and the owner's personal touch make it an unforgettable destination.

Honestly, there wasn't anything we didn't like about our stay. It was fantastic from start to finish.

This was our last stop on our Sri Lanka tour and we can safely say that it was the best. Not only our the staff very helpful and communicative, the room was spacious, clean and a very comfortable bed and the gardens are so beautiful. We were welcomed with a fresh king coconut, which was a nice touch and very appreciated after a full day. They showed us the feeding of the wild deer at the back of the property and took us on a free tour of the nearby lakes on the evening of our arrival to see birds, crocodiles, buffalo and bats. They arranged a full day safari for us which was fantastic, and also arranged our transport for the day of our departure back to Negombo. All the while they were ensuring that we happy with everything, even checking that we had arrived safely at our next location. We had dinner, which despite arriving late, they had no problems with, they even provided tea and cake at 4am when we left for the safari tour, which was a nice surprise and the breakfast on the day of the checkout was varied, copious and kept us going for the entire day.

The only thing was due to the location and our arrival and departure we didn't get the chance to go to Tissamaharama, but that has little to do with the hotel itself.

The staff were super friendly and helpful! Our room was spotless and really lovely, as was the whole house, its plants and peaciful surroundings—we loved it! You can even order lunch from a local restaurant at a good price. Lots of shops etc. nearby. We went on a full-day safari for $78 per person and on the way back in the late afternoon we get to be lucky and saw a leopard! So do book a full day safari …They also arranged a private ride to our next stop in Arugam.for 40USD with a experienced driver.Highly reccomend to stay overnight if you do whole day safari since there are elephans on the road at night and that could be sometimes dangerous. What an unforgettable experience!

Had an awesome experience with Nehansa Resort and Safari. The staff is very welcoming and maintains a high quality service throughout your stay. Anything you need, feel free to ask them. When I arrived, I was invited on a free special tour to see crocodiles, birds, bats,.. at the nearby lakes. I took a safari tour with them, only the best recommendation as well. Everything was well-arranged and the safari was just amazing! The room itself was very clean, it had AC and all other things needed. Breakfast was exceptional as well! Definitely recommend staying here if you wanna visit Yala National Park or just if you are nearby and need an exceptional price-quality place to stay!

We booked this place because of the good reviews and all of it was true! We were looking for a place that could arrange a half-day safari in Yala for us and they did! The night before the safari the staff took us on a car ride along a lake and we spotted some beautiful birds. We were on the hunt to see crocodiles and we found 2. We finished this small extra safari looking at 1000+ fruitbats who just woke up after sunset and flew away. It was breathtaking! The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is very good! And you can order dinner here (or go to Smokey Kitchen which is 6 min by tuktuk and very good local food!!)

Nothing, it was great!

Choosing to stay here was undoubtedly a great decision. The room was perfectly equipped with everything we could have possibly needed – from a hairdryer and water to a flashlight, making it very convenient. The bed was comfortable, the mosquito net was a thoughtful touch, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and made us feel completely at home. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The food was outstanding, and the hotel’s beautiful garden added an extra layer of tranquility to our stay. However, the real highlight was the unexpected sight of deer wandering around the back of the hotel. We also arranged a safari through the hotel, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget. While we weren’t fortunate enough to spot a leopard, the safari was still thrilling, and Yala National Park became our favorite spot in Sri Lanka. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience!

The staff

The room was small and dark with the main dining tables at your door. The Safari we booked was from a general pooling of Jeeps. The half-day Safari starts with a 4:30am pick-up at the Resort and then you drive 40 mins to the Yala Park entrance. Then you wait an hour on the roadside to enter. The park roads are terrible, full of washboard/potholes the entire way making it extremely uncomfortable/painful. And please note there are no bathroom breaks until 10:30am.. There is very little commentary/information from the driver who is inside the Jeep. Not great.

Absolutely amazing experience with Nehansa Resort. The owners shown us very special attention, they took us from the bus stop, organised a special little tour for us to see the sunset and birds, gave us great recommendations what to do around, helped with the laundry very quickly:) When we came at the reception they welcomed us with fresh coconut juice, so I can definitely say that their service is of the highest quality. We took safari tour with them, only the best recommendations as well. The room was very clean and cosy, it had AC and all the other things needed. The area around is beautiful, there is a cosy garden around the room. At the resort they also suggest a lot or food options for decent prices. Whenever I’m back to area,I will come here.

The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly, they even took us for a free trip to see the local crocodiles, birds and bats. The safari in Yala they organised was also amazing. The location is a bit far from the city but they make delicious fairly priced food at the resort. Oh, maybe wear a jacket if you go on the safari since it can get very windy riding from the resort to Yala at 4 in the morning. ;)

The AC in our first room was a bit loud and the shower was either hot or cold but maybe we just couldn't figure it out, either way it didn't bother us enough to ask.
