Very stylish decor, yet comfortable and well harmonized to the nature. Way beyond expectations. The service was so warm and welcoming. The Safari tour was superb. Drivers were so polite and their service was so elegant. The owner was so kind and reliable to help us. One of the best experiences in my hotel stays.

We were surprised by the size of the room - as it is really huge. The owner is excellent, he did everything he could to us. We especially appreciated the details. He arranged safari for us with the guy Nishan, who was extremly kind and clients otiented.

In November 2023, we stayed at My Village Hotel, which is located slightly north of Tissamaharama (or as the Locals call it “Tissa”). If you are looking for a relaxing stay with the possibility to do a safari tour through the incredible Yala National Park, then this is definitely the place for you. Besides a spacious, clean, and fully equipped room with en-suite bathroom and AC, the amazing pool allows you to take a much needed cold swim after the safari or a hot day trip to one of the surrounding towns. The owners and their staff are all unbelievably nice and take great care of you. They have perfect Tipps for trips and arrange stuff like TukTuks, Taxi, and Safari tours for you! They offer the safari at around 30-40 thousand LKR for a half day tour, which is matching even the cheapest local prices we found. Our safari guide, Pati, was the best we could’ve gotten. While other people saw a few animals in the park, Pati rushed through the best spots and anticipated the animals' behavior so that we saw just about everything there is to see at Yala National Park. With a superb breakfast and even takeaway boxes for the safari (because it started at 5am), the hotel could not offer a better all round experience. In the evening, you can stay in and enjoy freshly prepared local dishes (or western, if you prefer those). You can get a glimpse of the staff preparing the food in the open kitchen and enjoy your meal for about 1500-2500 LKR per dish - great value!

The property was clean and comfortable with excellent a/c and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were superb - kind and courteous, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel organised a fantastic half day safari to Yala on our behalf and also a taxi (Khalid was our driver, great guy) to our next destination (Nuwara Eliya) without any fuss or drama - the arrangements all worked like a dream. They also recommended a restaurant locally that we really enjoyed - 'Chef Lady', where we were royally looked after by Sanjiva - so well looked after we went twice!

My Village is a great place to relax and be close to Yala National Park. The staff is very friendly, and we lacked nothing. The breakfast was very good and complete. The room was very clean and well-equipped. Arranged by the hotel, we did a full day safari at Yala National Park with Mari as our guide, and it was incredible. He has a lot of experience and does his job with great passion. He understands the animals and knows exactly how they coexist in the park. He managed to show us all the rare animals in the park (leopard, bear, elephant with tusks, etc.). He always tried to show us places with fewer jeeps (there are about 100-150 per day). On top of that, he was really very friendly, and we laughed a lot. A wonderful day, I really recommend him as guide!

This was without a doubt the best stay of our entire holiday. The room was impeccably clean and had a wonderful, fresh scent - a small but memorable detail that added to the overall comfort. The bathroom was in excellent condition and clearly well looked after. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at ease. Their warm and attentive service truly made the difference. The safari tour itself was amazing - well-organized and a real highlight of our trip. The next day, their driver Callum provided excellent transport to our next destination. He was friendly, professional, and made the journey smooth and pleasant. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place - a true gem from start to finish!

Nice place. Good food at the restaurant. Organised a safari through them. Aslin was our driver. He drove very fast compared to other drivers. Unfortunately, he kept the windows up for most of the safari so didn’t share much information about the animals in the park. Having had other safari drivers that were very engaging and had lots to share this was disappointing. The safari lunch was great, however, we weren’t informed prior that we had to stop from 12-2pm so this as was a surprise when we got into the jeep at 12:30pm and got told we couldn’t leave for another hour and a half. During this time Aslin’s helper got into a very heated argument with another group and looked like he was going to start a fight before being separated by some other guides that stepped in. We did get to see leopard but the whole experience was left lacking.

Toilet wasn’t working but this got fixed. Did however continue to leak. Smell from the bathroom drain not the nicest.

Nice pool, relatively new facilities and rooms, breakfast and dinner were nice. Also very noteworthy is our guide of the Safari in Yala, arranged by the hotel, his name was Chamara and he's an absolute star, knew how and where to find the leopard, lots of other guides seemed to follow his example! ask specifically for Chamara!

No lunch served, can only pay by cash, which is annoying for such a big and professional hotel, especially if you also book safari's via the venue. main building is inside walled area, could be for safety (wild animals) but feels a bit cramped.

This place is absolutely stunning, like a boutique hotel with so much charm and attention to detail. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, and everything was spotless, from the rooms to the shared areas. The whole place smells amazing (we think it was incense), which made it feel even more special and relaxing. The swimming pool is out of this world — crystal clear, not even a leaf floating on the water. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. They take such great care of the property, always keeping it immaculate and anticipating your needs before you even ask. They also surprised us with some lovely gestures, like a delicious smoothie when we came back from our safari, and even waking up at 4:30am to prepare a beautifully packed breakfast for us to take. We felt so cared for. It truly made our stay unforgettable, such a beautiful, peaceful, and memorable place.

My Village is a great little place to stay. You step through the door, and you enter a lovely area. Our room was large and very comfortable. Sujith and his staff were very accommodating with our requests for a safari and a tuk tuk. They are very helpful. Bundala Safari was magical as it was quiet. Only saw two other jeeps. Mari, our guide, was fantasic. We saw a lot of elephants, crocodiles, and monkeys. The pool across the road was very nice and the breakfast and evening meals were delicious. We really enjoyed our three nights at My Village.
