Location was very good. We ate in the brasserie on the evening and, despite losing Heinz Winckler himself, the food really was very good indeed. Waiting staff were efficient and polite. The breakfast was fine but not anything special which you might expect for a 5 star hotel with gourmet aspirations. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable.

This is a 'smokers' hotel, the main lounge was reserved for smoking but the stale smell of smoke was not pleasant for non smokers and it extended up the stairs and landing. This a traditional quality hotel but is getting a little tired at the edges. The shower in our room was underpowered and fiddly to get at the right temperature. Wine overpriced. Bedroom beverages understocked.

It is very beautiful - decor a bit dated but it’s charming and spotless. Staff were attentive, warm and friendly. Though we arrived a little before checkin time our room was ready and we were upgraded, which was a lovely surprise. We enjoyed a trip to the spa with complimentary robes. Breakfast was very good and the servers again were warm and helpful.

One minor thing- I visited the bar after dinner and requested a glass of dry white wine and some sparkling water. I didn’t ask to view a list, I left it to the barman’s discretion. The next day I saw it was €22 on my bill, I thought this was a bit steep to serve me without mentioning the cost first. But service was friendly.

Boutique Hotel Heinz Winkler is fantastic! We had an amazing suite with stunning views of the mountains and the Hohenaschau Castle. The staff was extremely attentive, making sure our every need was met. We ate at the Bistro and it was fabulous. I can't say enough good things about our experience there! It was just wonderful - the best way to spend the last days of a long vacation. We look forward to returning - with family, next time!

Our stay at Residenz Heinz Winkler was truly unforgettable. This is not just a hotel, but a place of tranquility and comfort, where every detail is thoughtfully considered. My son and I felt genuinely welcomed thanks to the warm hospitality of the Winkler family. The spa provided the perfect retreat, and the restaurant offered memorable gastronomic experiences. The breakfast was especially impressive, setting a wonderful tone for the day. We also appreciated the books about the renowned chef, which added even more charm to the atmosphere. It was also a pleasure to know that our dog was comfortable and well cared for during our stay. This is a place we would love to return to, leaving with a sense of quiet satisfaction.

A beautiful hotel, lavish decoration, large well appointed room, great views. Some lovely art to enjoy, I particually liked the animal sculptures made from cutlery. Very nice staff, friendly and helpful-the manager told me to put my bike in the staff garage for safety. Impressive resturant, limited menue. The spa is bigger than I expected-it includes a cold pool-great after a sauna. Parking is directly outside the hotel. Recommended.

It is an old building so no lift or aircon in some rooms. Not a big deal really.

Probably the most spectacular combination of the hotel style, location, and view. Breathtaking! The staff makes this place 5 star hotel. Even a feeding station for our dog was ready in the suite (of course he travels with his own; however, it was a pleasant surprise). Actually, the first surprise was our reservation upgrade to the garden suite, which was extremely nice and helpful to our eight year old after surgery dog. Another thing. If I were into starting my mornings with champagne, the one they serve at breakfast would be it. And again, the view! And sound of the church bell… The town itself deserves thousand words… Highly recommend.

Beautiful location and the whole hotel was telling you „Grand Hotel“, if you like this old fashioned luxury, this is a very good place to stay while the quiet town and mountains around guarantee that you will have a relaxed stay! Very good restaurant which was recently stripped of its two Michelin stars BUT (and I am eating a lot in high class restaurants) it is in fact still on at least one star Niveau, trust me! You can still feel the handwriting of Heinz Winkler, the famous chef and owner, who died last autumn. His son was a great host and the wine cellar is very well sorted…many reasons to travel here 🤗🥂

The spa needs a bit of caretaking

The only drawback that we experienced was the lack of a lift to the floor of our room. There was one reaching all floors of the hotel. Yet, my chosen room was not accessible by lift. The very friendly and helpful staff proposed another room yet, I preferred my room.

An oasis of calm to savor lingering and the entertainment of dining. Situated on a hill in a picturesque village, a mountain backdrop with courtyards of calm, we whiled away hours. After the mountain alpenglow, we dined leisurely in the evening, walked around the village at night, slept deeply and luxuriously, read books on the balcony as the sun rose from the mountain tops to start a new day. Then there was a splendid breakfast to start our new day.

Our car was hit overnight in the hotel parking lot. The front desk clerk was not of much help. Would not even call the police for us. No cameras to monitor the front of the hotel
