We were up to a closer look at the Duomo di Monreale. A magnificent Normannic Cathedral, outstanding in architecture and Biblical tales. No place came closer than the Locanda. Just across the narrow street, in front of the cathedral. Welcomed by the host Helen, we right away felt at home. She pointed us to a single room flat of high standard with a balcony so close to the cathedral as if you could touch the masterpiece. I am a believer in the same story this Normannic house of God testifies. Moreover, I believe in the simplicity, characteristed by the Normans. Likewise, the Locanda. Simple, yet of high standard. Surely we'll stay at the Locanda when we return to Monreale the next time.

Nothing we didn't like

The location of this room is fantastic. You walk out the front door and straight to the left is the beautiful backing of the cathedral. You are practically in the cathedral! Cafes and bars just outside the apartment. Great great value. And the hosts I met are very nice.

It's quite petty and stupid of me but the only thing I would have liked was a TV service with some international English programming. There was like 400 channels but all in Italian.

Lovely staff who were very helpful in every way. Central location, right next to the cathedral and main square. No breakfast option here but plenty of local cafes to eat at. The room was a decent size and comfortable. There was a problem with the water at the start of our stay but this was sorted out very quickly.

Fantastic location. A room with character in a building with character right next door to the cathedral. Plenty of restaurants around. Easy to get a bus into or out of Palermo

The stairs might be a challenge for disabled or pushchairs. We are late 70's and managed fine.

It was the best location, the balcony (we had two) were big and had a great view at the Cathedral. It was easy to find the parking after instructions and also to take the local bus to Palermo. Communications were smooth. Monreale is beautiful.

This place has a fantastic location with some rooms (including ours) having a great view of the cathedral. The rooms are great, with nice beds. Vibrant vibe.

This isn't the place for light sleepers, especially on Friday and Saturday. On Friday the bar downstairs was very noisy until 1:30 am and the next night they added a band in the street below our balcony. Pretty good music and a lively street scene. Younger people might dig it.

The location is special, right next to the beautiful cathedral. Helen the contact was fantastic. Just fantastic

Nothing really, the rooms are above a restaurant so late nice jovality was excepted but the rooms had double glazing etc.

The apartment was very clean and cozy. Perfect localization with a direct view over the cathedral. Very quiet at night. Helene was very nice, available, gave many useful advice and even helped carry the luggage in the stairs. The neighborhood is pleasant to wander around.

A small bemol could be the shower that is a bit old but it's still fine. For those who have a lot of luggage or who cannot use the stairs, please note that there is no elevator.

Perfect location! Clean and simple. Coffee shop close by for morning coffee, no coffee in Room. Easy check in

I would like coffee in the room otherwise it had everything we needed.

Location is staggerringly close to the most amazing Cathedral... and the hostess was charming and helpful.
