We stay here when visiting family and love the friendliness of the staff and how well kept the property is. Oak Harbor is a small town and this is a gem we really enjoy. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy. The breakfast is very good and the kitchen staff always tried to go above and beyond to make sure you had what you needed. More Gluten Free options would be appreciated, like hash browns without any spices and muffins. We will be back

I did not like the fact they allowed dogs in the breakfast area, I am highly allergic to dogs and it was very uncomfortable to see dogs there. I had to leave.

Great hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms. A small, heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi tub were really welcome 'extras', and the quiet garden and outdoor lawns (with picnic table) were lovely and peaceful. The staff were wonderful: friendly, helpful and kind, all of them going out of their way to help and to find us a quiet room that we had requested. Melody really stood out for being extra helpful and welcoming; she couldn't do enough for us, and she is a real asset to the team. All the reception staff and cleaning/maintenance team were great, too. Highly recommended hotel for an Oak Harbor stay!

Breakfast could use a few more 'healthier' options, perhaps some plain/unsweetened yoghurt, even? There was not much for vegetarians etc. to choose from besides the hot oatmeal, as the daily specials were usually meat-based or had meat in them. It would be good if Best Western could help to limit the large amount of single-use plastic and disposables used for breakfast (plastic cutlery, disposable plates and cups, and every single slice of bread was even wrapped in an individual plastic bag - which may have been a Covid-related precaution, but is an awful waste of plastic that could be avoided).

Their free breakfast is really, really good! It's not just the basic continental breakfast....each day they have different hot options like biscuits/gravy and omelettes, etc. along with waffle station, etc. They even had small ammenities like a black make-up washcloth so you don't stain their white ones...LOL. But what I fell in love with was the staff...Melody, Deborah, front desk, and I can't remember her name but the sweetest employee who worked during breakfast and complimented me on my clothes and smile every morning. When we were there, the employees were wearing a Mental Health shirt that advocated for support and acceptance and they also had an LBGTQ+ shirt that they wore to show acceptance for all people. There is a banner in the lobby that also speaks to inclusivity for all. The employees raved about how amazing management was and how much they loved working there...it was so sincere and a common theme that people loved working under the current owner and especially the current manager...they said they loved her! Smiles, smiles everywhere...even the housekeepers wore adorable lavendar colored scrubs and were smiling and happy. I also found (by accident) a secluded, fenced in area behind the hotel with lounge chairs and away from the pool where it was quiet and secluded...super cool so go find it! There's also a great area behind the hotel for walking your dogs (or in our case our Sphynx cat...LOL). For a franchise establishment, I was really impressed. I'd go back just to see the staff again...they are the heart and energy of you stay!

Clean and for the most part nice people. The rooms won't let you cool past 67 degrees but it never cools past 68. I'm a got sleeper and need it cooler . The TV all 2 days had reception issues never got fixed with comcast

Unable to figure out how to adjust AC which was set at too cool temp--finally realized adjustment needed to be made on wall monitor. This should be made clear by staff @ check-in!

Clean rooms, friendly staff

Very disappointed in the amount of plastic used in the breakfast room and that there was no recycling of used items. In today’s world with climate change and growing piles of plastic in the sea and elsewhere, everyone and more importantly corporations, need to be environmentally aware and actively providing the ability for clients to recycle.

I enjoyed my stay here with my family. Debbie at the front desk was warm and welcoming. I felt very safe here, it was comfortable and quiet for our stay. I would happily stay here again in the future.

I wish the hot tub and pool were open.

I clocked the free wifi at 70MB/S That's really good for a hotel! The staff was amazing- everyone I interacted with was nice, polite, friendly. The room was great too.

Location, room size, friendly staff

We booked king suite and paid higher price but they put us in 2 queen room (which we could of paid less for) and when I let her know her response was that was what they had left due to us having a service dog and they like to keep all dogs on bottom floor incase guests have allergies which was fine. I just feel that we should of gotten the price difference back. Other then that all else was great.

Breakfast was good, and the attendants were friendly.

If I stay there again, i will ask for a room a little farther away from the card accessed door and the lobby--sometimes we could hear the door slamming, and customer's voices at the desk were sometimes loud. Fortunately we weren't disturbed at night.
