The location is amazing. Great view of the mountain from the bedroom balcony and of the sea from the shared balcony. The staff were exceptional. The duty manager went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely amazing. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to interact with. The honesty bar was a useful touch, came in handy quite a bit. As well the pastries in the shared kitchens. The shared kitchen makes sense if you're torn between self-catering and expecting to eat out every night. A pleasant 8 days overall.

The biggest gripe I have is the hot breakfast. The booking.com site says "breakfast included" and when you arrive for breakfast, you can get a continental (cold) buffet breakfast as the inclusion. However, the hot breakfast is an additional cost (quite a substantial cost). For 2 people it would be the same as taking an Uber to and from the strip, or even Seapoint, getting breakfast there, and coming back. The continental breakfast was pretty decent though, fresh fruit, pastries, yoghurt selection, cereal, cheeses, and deli meats. At the time of this review (September 2024), the hotel did not have backup power for most things. Wifi seemed to work at least though. The TV, plug points, etc. did not have backup power. This can be planned around for load shedding, but not unplanned outages.

The staff are amazing. They are so helpful and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. The laundry service was cheap and quick, returning the same day. I noticed the bedroom floor didn't always get swept, but the beds were made up daily and there were fresh towels everyday. The hot food in the mornings was delicious. And there was always a snack in the penthouse lounge area every day, whether it be fruit, croissants or pastries. Biscuits and hot drinks were always available. And there's the honesty fridge if you want a cold can of coke or a bottle of wine. (The sparkling wine is to die for if you like sweet and not brut / dry) The views of the mountains are beautiful and you can sit and watch the clouds coming off the top for hours. The area feels safe and everyone is so friendly. UBERs are cheap if you want to go to the V&A Waterfront for a nice meal or a days shopping. The local beach looked nice although we didn't go; we stayed at the hotel and used the sun beds and the plunge pool there.

The balcony doors rattled in the wind, which kept waking me, but it was really windy so couldn't be helped. The hill walking back is a killer in the wind. Just be warned. They ask visitors to vacate the penthouse lounge by 10pm, but some inconsiderate guests were still using it at 11.30 and I got woken up hearing them leave because my room was in the same area and they have to pass the beddoor to use the stairs, but you can't blame the hotel for that.

Location is great and the place is clean and comfortable

On the website when you book it includes breakfast however it is not stated that it's only the continental breakfast that's included hence you are misleading the client because breakfast included means both continental and hot breakfast so rather state it on your website so people know what type of breakfast to expect.

Lovely property in a beautiful location. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. There is a very nice shared space on the top floor with a large balcony overlooking Camps Bay.

You have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast- everywhere else we stayed this was included. However the continental breakfast provided within the price was very good and more than adequate.

Great location, only a short walk down to the beach, and great views of the ocean from their sun deck. The staff was so lovely and accommodating. The bed is huge! And comfortable.

Was a bit confusing trying to work out the AC, but I also didn’t ask for help so that’s on me.

For the 12 days we were at 3 on Camps Bay we received personalised service. There wasn’t a question we asked Terence, that he wasn’t able to answer. He gave us really good advice and recommendations about the local area and things to do in and around Cape Town. McDonald and Primrose looked after as well and always stopped to have a chat with us about the events of our day and just checked in to see if we were ok. The staff add that exceptional service to staying at 3 on Camps Bay that I have never experienced before. (I’ve travelled to India, Amsterdam, around Europe and Egypt). Having the ability to use the Penthouse was the icing on the cake as it was a fabulous space to relax, enjoy the view and share a meal. What a bonus!! The location was perfect and the views were breathtaking. I cannot fault anything and would definitely recommend this guest house. It felt like a home away from home. Thank you to everyone who made a visit memorable. We look forward to seeing you again.

Great location and bus stops close by so able to use our Mti pass. Easy downhill walk to Camps Bay beaches and restaurants. Our room facing the garden was comfortable and clean. Our continental breakfast was so filling, so no need for cooked breakfast. I have gluten allergy but Terence arranged for me to have fresh gluten free pastries for breakfast and placed some in the fridge for afters. Much appreciated this thoughtful gesture. Terence and the team made us feel very welcome from the moment our taxi dropped us off. Our luggage was taken care of and coffee and tea was served since we had to wait for our room to be made ready. The views from the lounge balcony during sunset are stunning. Thanks again to all the staff that made our stay special.

Not fault of the hotel but the work going on next day was a nuisance since they started banging at 7 am and didn't finish till 6 pm. However, the main external work will be finished soon, so peace restored.

The building which is spacious and well kept. Lovely views of the ocean, lovely garden area. The stuff was very friendly and helpful.

-We had room 5 which is next to the breakfast area. From the main bedroom one can hear the zooming of a fridge. There is one just outside the bedroom and on our last day we discovered that there is also a small fridge in the room. So not sure which fridge made the mist noise. -the shower-head in the main bedroom had a huge rusty area, mistook it for blood at first. Maybe a change of the shower-head as the water pressure is low. -the mattress in the main bedroom is not comfortable. -the second bathroom flooded after use. So my son had to resort to lining towels on the floor as the shower is not completely closed off.

Great location, just a short walk to the beachfront, the incline is gentle. Staff very friendly & professional, they go out of their way to assist you. Our room was superb, large, spotless, comfy beds, balcony with sea and Mountain View’s. The top floor communal area was wonderful. Fully equipped kitchen and huge balcony, we made plenty of use of it. Location great, we also walked to the Hussars Grill, a wonderful restaurant just up the road. Highly recommend.
