Brightwater was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking! We booked the apartment, which was clean, fresh and so welcoming when we arrived. The views of the mountain from the balcony are also lovely. The staff was very pleasant and super helpful with information about the area. The lodge is well centered and accessible to restaurants and shops, as well as the bay for an afternoon walk. We really did not want to leave, and hope to be back soon. My only suggestion would be to put a table and chairs on the balcony for guests to enjoy the sunshine and views. We used the inside chairs which worked, but a table would've been great too. Thank you to Alex & team for a wonderful stay!

Loved everything!

Location and breakfast excellent. Very quiet and comfortable. All staff brilliant and Alex is as friendly as they come. In other circumstances, it would be a privilege to have him in my friend circles. He loves his present location and livelihood and was/is more than enthusiastic to share useful informtation and give great ideas about where to go... as well as weather conditions on top of Table Mountain. We really regret that Turkish Airlines let us down and thus we missed the 1st night of 3, as Cape Town has an abundant wealth of fascination and wonder. Hout Bay is excellent for tranquility - but good facilities, especially restauraunt by the beach. If I could, I wold certainly come again. In my fantasies, I am there frequently....

In a perfect, natural location, a few minutes from the ocean coast and the harbor with the seals, the dunes, mountains, fabulous. The shops are also a few minutes' walk away, and there is a direct bus to Cape Town. The place is friendly, Alex is a very reliable and helpful person, he solved everything we asked about. If you're lucky, you can see the sunbird from the window or the squirrel in the street, we woke up to the sound of the ibises in the morning, you can endure 12 nights like this :) We would go back now :)

Loved the warm welcome and interactions/conversations with Alex(owner) and Lily(caretaker). -The room had loads of natural light and they are extremely relaxing and comfortable. -Views are not sea facing or anything special but the windows have shade from trees which also helps with privacy. View was not an important point for us and we enjoyed bird watching on the adjacent trees, so for us it was good! -Ample parking, safe street. -Restaurants closeby. -We were able to store our luggage with them and park oir car in their parking lot much before check in time and head out for snorkeling activity. -Short driving distance from beaches and town. - Our first time in Hout bay and Alex and Lily gave us a great orientation of the town and Alex recomended some cool things to do. -Dont miss the enterance door, its an art piece. -Safety of the cottage is very good. *One incedent to mention is the day of checkout we had to leave early in the morning and Alex was extremely accomodating and took special effort to pack some delicious goodies for the way/breakfast.

-This property has an old cottage style design with narrow twisted stairway. I think all rooms are on first floor. We had some luggage and somehow dragged it up - a bit of struggle. Just something to keep in mind. -Washaroom is tight for long legged people around WC. But the bath area is spacious.

I loved the safety, the hospitality and warm welcome of the owner Alex. The serene and peaceful atmosphere. It was definitely home away from home. The colour contrast of the room, bedding and furniture was very welcoming and relaxing. Loved the decor of the house and it's structure..just amazing. This home is really something to explore and ask questions with answers that were even more interesting. The bathroom and toilet had complimentary toiletries and I lived the comfort of the onsuite. Secured premises whereby the owner shares the gates password with only tenants and you are provided a key to the home andto your room tocome and go as you please. This B&B is very close to many restaurants and stores..just loved it as we popped out to a store. Definitely value for money as it was R774 pee night including a brekkie which was amazing! All sorts for our persusal, entertainment and endulging pleasure. We could sit and wherever we wanted, inside, outside etc....Owner is very heartwarming towards guests and picks up a conversation easily...not overbearing at all as he allows tenants their space too. It's definitely a must book again for us. There is a family room with a balcony too...for approximately 4 people...coffee, tea etc with a kettle and a fan, TV with Netflix and wifi provided while you stay...Honestly! Who could have asked for more???? This is defined MORE!

The fact that I HAD TO LEAVE....

I stayed one night at Brightwater Lodge and was warmly welcomed by the hosts. The room was clean, comfortable, and full of character, with everything I needed. Despite being close to shops and restaurants, it was peaceful and relaxing. A lovely place with a personal touch—I’d happily return for a longer stay.

There was nothing I didn't like and everything was good.

I loved it so much I want to go back already! Great host, comfortable bed, wonderful location, and delicious breakfast. It was the perfect place to stay in Hout Bay. Felt like I was home and safe and happy :) wifi was good, too. It was great for couples, lone travellers, and families - highly recommend!

Cozy rooms and nice ambience, convenient position close to beaches, shops and restaurants but also Constantia wineries and Cape Town city centre. Definitely good value for the money. But the real plus of the lodge is its host Alex, who made his best to make us feel at home and enjoy our staying at most. Our trip would not have been so rich and pleasant without his precious advices and suggestions and, of course, his famous smoothies!

Perfect location for our overnight stay in Hout Bay. Everything you need is in walking distance. The staff confirmed our arrival and were eating for us as we pulled in. Large room, spotlessly clean. Even had a full bath with endless hot water. Breakfast was a feast and the owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The off season rate was an amazing deal. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Comfy beds.Stocked bar fridge for purchase is a nice touch when you forgot your snacks.Quality ingredients for breakfast,jams was delicious.Hope to try these smoothies I hear other guess speak of next time.Alex was a great host,very happy group..Thanks for making our short stay pleasant.great value for money..We had Chromecast and various TV apps bonuses aswell.

Could do with aircon in places.Weather was good thou so the one window that can open in our room was sufficient.
