We travelled as a family of 5 with 3 active boys. The property is beautiful, with enough space for kids to run around, and we found a small reserve next to the property if you fancied a short walk during the day. The weather's been quite cold and rainy, so we have had plenty of indoor time - there isn't a tv. However, we managed quite well without one. Close to all the attractions in Hout Bay - fish & chip restaurants, on the myciti bus route, Chapmans Peak, etc. Good wifi, comfy beds, staff are on the property so they help with any issue, laundry service, clean property, and delicious breakfast every morning was an added bonus.

There is an informal settlement a few km away - it's next to the police station - but honestly, there were no safety issues here. We felt fine with our family. We were out late one night until after 11pm, and besides the poor street lighting- we felt absolutely safe in the area. We had plenty of blankets, but maybe add a heater in the bedrooms during the winter for added comfort.

The property itself is stunning! We loved the big beautiful gardens with tall trees, the playground, the swing and the pool. The setting is secluded and magical. The owners’ dogs were super friendly as well. All of the staff were amazing. The apartment was serviced daily, and any request we had was met quickly. They provided us with fire wood for an evening braai, as well as beach towels, cooler box and beach umbrella for a day out and about. Particularly thoughtful and handy was the box of kids toys left at the door of the apartment which our toddler busy for a while. The WiFi was good, beds comfortable, bedrooms spacious and living room/kitchen well equipped. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for an amazing stay!

We spent a couple of nights here before moving closer to the water front. It is quiet and secure, with parking, beautiful gardens, and a cold pool, because of rain and unusual cold front.The room had a comfortable bed and bath along with a patio area. A small free standing heater was in room to take any chill out. The couch outside was used regularly by some of the 7 mostly well behaved dogs. I can see where this might make for a family reunion place. We found it central for our trips to south Cape, the national gardens. Hiking Table top from east side. You need a car. Food in Hout bay area was good.

There's not a lot to complain about. Met our needs. Friendly staff and clean. Common walls on both sides. We had a couple next door one night, and we could hear muffled sounds. Dogs could give an early wake-up bark. The common TV room might need some love for sure, but it was off-season. The price compared to waterfront or camps bay was reasonable.

Rating: 10/10 This charming cottage, set in a large, lush garden, offers everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The hosts are incredibly kind and approachable, always ready to help or share a friendly chat, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A special highlight was their wonderful pack of beautiful, friendly dogs – they brought so much joy and warmth to our stay! If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with fantastic hospitality and a cozy atmosphere, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

Grant and his family were friendly, approachable and discreet. Ben was a real gem and made our stay exceptional. He was also very friendly and even made a fire for us with the wonderful Namibian wood which we braai'd on, of course. I would recommend this little water and garden oasis for young families as there are lots of facilities to keep the little people entertained like a playground, swimming pool, and amazing swing. Our hosts Silvia and Grant were very friendly and accommodating. The Waterland Lodge is a perfect place with nice garden views. Our lovely cottage with a spacy terrace was neat and well equipped. The Waterland Lodge is situated in a great safe neighbourhood with close proximity to many sightseeings, awesome beaches, shops, restaurants and nature attractions (by car). Each morning we were pampered with tasty breakfasts – provided in a picnic basket. The numerous recommendations and MUST SEES to visit were so special and exciting. We loved our stay and definitely would like to return asap. The garden was exceptionally beautiful with all the water, mountains and all the places were one could sit and relax. The owners were very accommodating to our needs and could be contacted via Whatsapp. They granted us lots of privacy. The manager, cleaners, gardeners and even the dogs were also very pleasant. A special thank you to the sons who let is in late at night and Grant who arranged a wonderful breakfast basket for our first morning. We’d love to come again. Thank you for the marvelous stay.

The enitre place is amazing! They have lovely 6 dogs in the property who are absolutely adorable. They make the place lively. The whole setup is very beautiful and peaceful. The lodges are very nice and cozy. There is everything you will need in the kitchen too. Also the owners are very helpful and nice people to deal with. We loved everything about this place and would recommend everyone to stay here.

A really beautiful location and an immaculately clean large bungalow style property that we had the pleasure of spending 3 weeks in as a family of 5. There is a great outdoor play area for children and private and shared outdoor spaces plus a nice pool. The cleaning and maintenance staff could not be nicer and the owners were really welcoming and even provided our boys with two boxes of toys to use
