It's a charming manor with a lot of original features preserved. We checked in early evening and were welcomed with a zucchini dish to snack on while having our drink at the bar. A nice touch. Staff are super friendly. Breakfast was nice with enough options to choose from on the hot menu.

Breakfast was included and it usually includes coffee. We ordered our cappuccino and at the end were given a bill because only filtered coffee was included and not cappuccino. It was not a big deal for us but I don't think it'll cost them much if they included that too. Just a suggestion.

The hotel is beautiful and very close to town. The staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. I travelled with my son and his family which included my 1.5yr old grandson, the hotel was very accommodating to our needs and even kept the Chef on later than usual to allow my Daughter-in-law to put her son to bed. Our bedrooms were delightful in decor and the whole hotel and a homely warm to it. We had to leave early for our flight which meant missing breakfast, they kindly put breakfast bags together for us which were really good and full of choice.

Unfortunately the bathrooms were not great, the taps were very difficult to use as was the shower - in my room it had been installed at an angel so you could not run the shower before getting in. The plumbing in my son's room (sink and shower) were extremely loud, which meant they had to use my room whilst the baby was asleep. We did only stay for 1 night so I am unable to say if the bathroom situation would have been fixed if we were staying for a longer period of time. The other downfall of the hotel is the amenities close very early at 10pm so if you are travelling and arrive late, both restaurant and bar are closed

The colonial decoration in the hotel and comfy bed and lounge area. Indoor/outdoor seating in the restaurant . Excellent cappuccino coffee and breakfast.

Slow breakfast service and lack of sugar, salt and pepper on the table. Broken empty plant pots at front of hotel needed clearing away. Rose plants on edge of pool need planting in pots. No staff around in the bar and lounge in the evening. Waterhammer from nextdoor room in the morning - noise was horrendous but having reported it it was much improved! ⁹

The breakfasts were varied, individually served and well cooked. The staff were exceptionally helpful, polite and friendly. We had dinner on several nights and the quality and presentation were faultless: they were great value for money.

Not sure I could find any fault. There wasn’t a lift to the second floor which the elderly would appreciate but I think there were bedrooms on the ground floor. Although parking wasn’t at a premium, the chaos on the gate always managed to find us a spot.

Very nice, modern and safe hotel. With a lovely garden to sit outside. Many locals also come here to enjoy lunch or diner. Nice small pool to take a quick dive. All quit, luxurious, relaxed, well arranged and comfortable. Good restaurant. Nice rooms. Nice breakfast. Staff in the restaurant area very nice and helpfull. Located well in the lovely small town of Houtbay, close to Kaapstad.

No staff after 22:00 to service you. But we were off-season. Staff is lovely and working hard nevertheless.

We had wonderful holidays in Manor and really enjoyed the stay. Initially we booked a room for 2 x nights but ended up staying 5 x nights. The hotel is just great: interior is beautiful and authentic (my recommendation is Zulu room), lovely lobby and outstanding restaurant serving breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Food quality is fantastic and prices are good. I would like to highlight the staff that was just great and helpful, especially the waiters in the restaurant! We would definitely like to come back one day!

Our stay at the Hout Bay Manor was beyond expectation. The hotel is stylish in every way, even to the finest details - the decor, the comforts, the rooms, the staff, the linen, the food. It's quality from the moment you walk through the door. Everything is carefully thought through and elegantly presented - for example, we needed to leave very early on our final day to start our long drive, and we were given a delicious, thoughtfully-planned packed breakfast of fruits, homemade granola & yoghurt, nuts, seeds and bottled water, complete with recyclable (wooden) cutlery. Such a memorable stay!

Absolutely wonderful experience at Hout Bay Manor. Gorgeous house, with beautifully decorated, spacious room. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and fresh. The beds are really comfortable, and amenities with everything you need. Would definitely go back.

Nothing really. Loved everything about Hout Bay Manor. Note that it is a bit far from the central area of Cape Town, so a car is recommended.

Relaxed vibes, fantastic breakfast, very good restaurant plus nice separate bar, gorgeous courtyard, clean and spacious room, lovely staff, very convenient location, the whole character of the place.

Size of the pool - it would be good for small kids

We love staying at Hout Bay Manor, not only is it walkable to shops and beach, it's set back off the main road so it's peaceful. It's classy and stylish, personal and the food is great. Highly recommended.
