Whilst POD Hotel Camps Bay is a modern, comfortable, relaxing, well designed boutique hotel, what makes it really special is the team. The team from arrival to departure couldn't have been more helpful. Warm, friendly enthusiastic people who genuinely want to make your stay a pleasure are very rare and this describes everyone we met at POD. On arrival Nick deserves a special mention as he had to deal with our very long list of initial questions and he couldn't have done any more for us. He arranged a guide for Table Mountain which resulted in us climbing it via India Venters, a route we could not have navigated on our own. It was spectacular. He recommended & booked the Codfather restaurant which was first class for local seafood. And he arranged a driver for a trip round Cape Point, again with an excellent lunch restaurant booking along the way. The front of house team couldn't have been more helpful & attentive bringing us a steady flow of complimentary coffees & chai's which were also excellent. Concy was especially thoughtful & helpful at breakfast. The team are always making sure you have all you need, but not in an intrusive way, in a genuine friendly and helpful manner. Finally Neesha helped us to arrange Whale watching at Hermanus aswell as recommending an excellent lunch spot where the whales could be watched from the shore. She also was very kind on our last day, arranging a late checkout so we could shower after we returned from our hike which also made a real difference and allowed us to have a very relaxed departure. Neesha had also arranged breakfast packs for us as we were leaving very early on or hike which was a really nice touch. I am only sorry I don't recall all the names as the entire team deserves an individual thankyou. You all combined to make our stay wonderful & memorable and we would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at POD Camps Bay.

Great location at the top of Camps Bay. Perfect for walking on the beach and exploring the suburb. Also really close to the Lions Head home start point so ideal for sunrise / sunset hikes Staff are all so lovely and friendly. Completely faultless and cannot do enough for you. Parts of the hotel feel a little dated, lots of white LEDs / mixed warmth lighting in the rooms. The combination of only slightly frosted glass, a thin gap around the door and downlighting in the toilet mean you are basically visible when taking a number 2. Not ideal :) The sea view is between 2x large buildings, not immediately obvious from the online photography. But it’s still mega!

Hotel just off the main road, but in walking distance to restaurants and bars and just across the road from the beach. Most rooms have ocean view. We had a big room, very light, with all the things that are needed. We even got a hot water bottle service in the evening, because my partner felt a bit poorly. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice from a good small but mighty buffet and dishes to order. They offer all sorts of sweet treats and hot chocolates which are available for free in the room. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Our only issue taking away a couple of points from the score is the toilet/ wash basin/ shower set-up. As a single traveller it is of course not a problem, but if you share the room be prepared for it to be open. There is little privacy. Even the toilet business, which was a separate cubicle, could be seen from the room. We also missed hooks for jackets etc in the room.

POD really deserves the title boutique hotel. The attention to detail, the friendliness of the staff from reception to breakfast and esp the evening staff was exceptional. Located in 2 row of Camps bay the terrace offers a beautiful view in the beach/ocean and sunset. Rooms are beautifully furnished/decorated. Breakfast delicious. Nice Beach bags are provided.

Like in so many places in Camps Bay, there is a construction going on next doors - did not bother me because of builders holidays but you might want to double check.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Nothing was left to be desired. Breakfast was delicious and well organised. The menu was also quite large. However, there is no buffet, which was fine for us. The location of the hotel is really good (20 minutes by car to the V&A Waterfront, 10 minutes to the Table Mountain cable car). We also enjoyed the many complementary amenities such as stocking our car with water whenever we left the hotel, snacks at the pool or popcorn and candy for a movie night.

It's a pity the hotel doesn't offer dinner. As an alternative, guests can have food delivered and the staff will heat it up and plate it for them. There are also many options for dinner near the hotel along the beach. However, the view and the hotel are so nice that we sometimes would have loved to have dinner there.

Clean and spacious rooms, complementary hot drinks and wine in the room, great location, beyond friendly staff who will make you feel so comfortable! Great breakfast, they brought hot water bottles to the room as well as popcorn as we ordered hot chocolate in the evening - very thoughtful!

Nothing - we personally prefer other parts around cape town rather than camps bay but if you stay in camps bay then this is the perfect choice!

AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE STAY! The staff were some of the best we have ever come across and went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable. We stayed for our honeymoon and very kindly got upgraded to their deluxe suite which was so beautiful with breath taking views of the ocean. The room itself was so comfortable with an extremely large bed, fantastic bath and shower and all the extras you could possibly need and more. The location was absolutely perfect and we are so grateful to POD for such an amazing stay and really can't wait to come back, thank you so much again! We had a truly special stay.

Absolutely nothing- everything was perfect!

This is a really smart boutique hotel in a great location for all that camp bay has to offer. The staff were excellent as was the breakfast which was the best we had throughout our stay in and around the Cape. Our only disappointment was the size of our room which was very small and poky. Unfortunately it was the only room available and it was described as small so no criticism of the hotel.
