The location of The Marley Hotel was beyond ideal—truly perfect for anyone wanting to be in the heart of the action while still enjoying complete peace and quiet. Despite being in a lively area, I was never bothered by noise, traffic, or any outside distractions. One thing to note is that the entrance is at the back of the building. If you have luggage, be prepared to go through a parking lot and take the elevator up to the hotel. It’s a small inconvenience, but nothing that takes away from the experience. The staff was absolutely phenomenal—extremely kind, welcoming, and attentive. What stood out most was how unassuming the hotel appeared from the outside. While the exterior could use some modernization, the inside was immaculate. Every floor, every level, every space smelled absolutely incredible—it was easily the best-smelling hotel I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable, stylish, and centrally located stay in Cape Town!

It was a small boutique hotel ( it was not cookie cutter) it was beautiful in a way that is different from your standard hotel and they were extremely attentive to our needs!!! I had mentioned we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and they had flowers and champagne waiting for us!!! I was very impressed!

The room had different levels making it look dramatic but my safety of not falling was on my mind as we navigated the room after arriving exhausted or coming in after a long day of wine tasting! I kept saying be careful don’t forget there is a step in a few places in the room!

It’s our 2nd time staying at the Marly! We absolutely enjoy staying here! Our room was facing the ocean, with stunning views over Camps bay beach and promenade. Room terrace is really good for practicing yoga, and also for contemplating the amazing Cape Town sunsets :) Location is exceptional, stuff and service are wonderful and breakfast/brunch is exceptional (served until 11:30am)

So, the hotel is on top of a club (chinchilla), and you can hear music until late. Also you can’t leave varanda doors open because of the smell of food, that comes from restaurants below (mainly at night time)

LOVED the location and it had the BEST breakfast with a bakery that made me think I was in France ! It had a gorgeous pool / lounge /restaurant on roof top overlooking beach/mountains that reminded me of Rio Brazil! Everyone who worked there had BIG SMILES and were anxious to help with whatever you needed!!! And the Gelato store on the street level was YUMMY!

Some of the room have steps and that can be scary (even though it looks pretty) but when I mentioned it I was immediately told they could change our room ! How nice is that??? (We opted to stay in that room bc it was large and bright and airy but I had to be careful to remember so I didn’t fall and start my vacation with a broken ankle!)

We got surprisingly pleased to see how jolly, accommodating and attentive the staff was. The food from all the restaurants was exceptional, Special thanks to the waiter George for making us feel at home, Deon from one of the restaurant: spotless service. Pearl from the spa is an exeptional therapist too. The view from the roof top terrace/pool deck was breath-taking. Best hotel we experienced in Cape town during our stay.

Would have loved perhaps more equipment/machines at the gym, but really grateful with what was available on site, some nice weights range, 2 cardio machines, it was good enough.

The location and facilities are exceptional. The rooms boast stunning aesthetics and feature breathtaking balconies. Although we requested a bed instead of a chair outside and were unable to accommodate this request, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring a positive experience overall.

We did encounter a slight inconvenience with our Uber drop-off as they were unfamiliar with the location, necessitating us to navigate from the roadside. While not a major issue, a preemptive message from the hotel explaining the situation could have alleviated any confusion.

The hotel is very nice, location in Camps Bay is safe enough but maybe don't go walking at night. Beach or mountain views are both beautiful. Breakfast was lovely. Room is very clean, comfortable bed. Service is very good, you can call them for anything you need and they're very helpful and quick.

I think the room misses the mark. It's just not that nice for what you're paying, the living area is dated, there's an old fashioned tub that's cute but not practical to use. And little things made getting ready in this room clunky - the shower has no shelves to put your things so everything is on the floor, the bathroom doesn't have any outlets so you can't dry your hair in there, not a lot of counter space. It's worth about $350 USD a night and we paid close to $600 - really disappointing.

The hotel sits atop an outdoor shopping mall with 8-10 restaurants that can all be charged to the room. Every one was good... There is also a high end organic grocery attached, with prepared meals!

South Africans don't drink like americans. if you want a double, you have to get a double, double.

The location (right by the beach), the interior decoration (spacious and beautiful with high ceilings), the food (great tasty breakfast with fabulous choices) the staff (warm, welcoming and ever ready to help), the customer service (truly exceptional, not one complaint) , the stunning views; EVERYTHING was on point, 100%, Top Marks through and through. I can’t recommend it enough. Amazing people!!! I try not to stay in a hotel twice but I will come back to The Marly with my family once I have the chance. Truly amazing experience, can’t complain. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for their warm hospitality and never expecting a reward. THANK YOU!!!

Difficulty locating the entrance at first. if your taxi doesn’t know to drive up through the car park to get to the reception on the 3rd floor, you’ll have a hard time getting up with your suitcases. Guessing it’s the way the structure has been built but once you get a hang of the entrances and exits, you’ll be fine.

Staff were so lovely - very attentive and friendly, they definitely made our stay! Rooftop is great with nice views and comfy loungers. Breakfast is lovely with lots of options. Everything spotlessly clean. Had a great massage at the spa too! Mountain View from room is stunning.

Decor in rooms not really to my taste but a personal preference and everything really clean so can’t fault it too much. Just not sure would say it’s 5 star in that sense.
