We had a forest pod in the grounds of the Camps Bay Retreat. The pod was lovely- small but well-equipped, extremely comfortable and with a beautiful wooden verandah. The grounds are gorgeous- full of wonderful Cape flora and fauna. We had head torches with us and they were very useful for negotiating the paths at night, but a phone torch would also suffice. The location is amazing - you can get to the beach in about 2 minutes, through a gate in the grounds. Camps Bay Retreat itself is magnificent - a beautiful 1929 house converted into a plush hotel. Breakfast on the terrace every day was a huge treat - delicious and we also had a couple of drinks every evening on the lawn to watch the wonderfully sunsets over the ocean. Our bar bill at the end was incredibly reasonable. The staff were extremely professional and skilled. If we return to Cape Town, and I so hope that we do, I would stay at the Camps Bay Forest Pod 100%. Thanks you for a wonderful stay.

Oh my goodness, little did we expect to have access to such a beautiful property and all it's amenities. The view, is worth a million bucks, and WOW and the staff are so lovely, in particular Benson, what a fabulous guy, and the concierge Daniel also so lovely! The food is delicious, the breakfast included is enough to keep you going all day and highly recommend a dinner too just to enjoy the best sunsets ever!

We had the forest pod 1 and it was not very private, people walking past could just look in and there were workmen busy there all the time so that was a minus point for us. A simple net curtain would solve the problem. The door was also pretty tricky to lock but the pod itself is fab, comfy and clean. The only thing is during load shedding getting there at night after a few beverages could prove a little tricky ;P

Spectacular breakfast, included. The restaurant is in the Main Camps Bay Retreat beautiful hotel which we had full access to, we ate there in the evenings also, it was the best restaurant we found in Camps Bay and is exclusively for the use of the hotel and pod guests so always a table available. We had the choice of 4 swimming pools, there was also a padel tennis court we were able to book and use. Wonderful hotel, the forest pod room is an economical way to stay in this gorgeous hotel. The room is tiny but sweet and lovely. The bed was made every day.

Location is fabulous right at the bottom of camps bay. Views are stunning! The grounds are very well Maintained and you feel in a different world with lots to explore. Staff are very attentive. Breakfast is amazing and nice to be able to order off a menu. We loved staying in the pods but if you are a couple would suggest they are only suitable for a couple of nights if you are visiting the area. For longer stays of two people or more I would suggest the main hotel or the accompanying accommodation options at the top of the property. Be aware if you are in the pods it’s a hike every morning to breakfast but at least you earn it!

We had a few issues with leaks and safe not working but these were addressed as soon as they were raised.

Camps Bay forest hotel never lets one down, this time around was even better, my partner had a emergency and needed an urgent assistance, the Hotel staff working at the that shift was exceptional, we were able to get an Ambulance and got rushed to the nearest hospital and all went well, thanks to the gentlemen that went above and beyond to help us. We'll never forget that, and that's an add on to the amazing hotel in Camps, my favorite spot. I've been there multiples times and I'll continue to be your guest. Cheers!!

Nothing to dislike

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Camps Bay Retreat forest pods, and we can't stop raving about our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the attentive staff. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was exceptional. First and foremost, we have to commend the staff for their outstanding service during breakfast and dinner. The meals were not only delicious but served with genuine care and attention to detail. No request was too much trouble, and we felt incredibly well looked after throughout our dining experiences. A special shoutout goes to Sizwe, whose impeccable service made our meals even more memorable. Moreover, we were impressed by the tranquil beauty of the grounds. It provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and rejuvenation. We found ourselves immersed in nature's serenity, which was exactly what we needed after a long flight. The proximity to shops and restaurants along the Camps Bay beachfront was another highlight. We enjoyed exploring the area and witnessing the breathtaking sunsets—a true treat for the senses. And let's not forget about the on-site spa! It was a haven of relaxation, and we indulged in some well-deserved pampering after our journey. Lastly, we want to extend our gratitude to Damian and Simon for their warm hospitality and ensuring that our every need was met throughout our stay. Their attentiveness truly made us feel welcomed and valued as guests. In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend Camps Bay Retreat to anyone seeking a memorable getaway. I loved the gardens and the landscaping. The forest pods were an interesting change of accommodation. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent.

Traffic noise in the room was more than i expected. We stayed in pod 1 and there is a bit of an eyesore - there's a nursery behind the pod, and it's not so great for privacy, and takes away from the forest feel. There are also a lot of stairs to the pods so accessibility is limited to people who can walk stairs comfortably.

Beautiful location, the Forest Pods were secluded and private with great access to the Camps Bay Retreat property facilities. Staff were outstanding and attentive.

The beds were too soft for our liking - felt a little worn out as it collapsed in the centre. The bar spirit and wine selection at the restaurant was quite limited and the beer selection was very limited too.

The staff working in the reception and restaurant is very nice and welcoming. The place is very beautiful and it exceed my expectations. The Garden, the view, the pools, the room, the paddle play ground ... They have different prices , and they care for attention. Recommended

It was very windy and we couldn't enjoy the beach. The showers didn't have much water

We were very happy to have choices for breakfast. Staff are very friendly. We were very happy with the service we received from Muneeb and Andrew has such great positive energy about him.

When we booked the hot tub it was a little chaotic with waiting for our gowns, etc.. But the experience exceeded expectations thank you.
