We received a very hearty, warm welcome. We booked only a few hours in advance. Even though their mobile and internet towers was offline which meant they did not receive our booking and we arrived early, they still had our room ready. We were very tired after hours on the road but they made us feel welcome. The lodge was awesome and we loved the feel of being in the bush although we were a stone's throw away from shops. The views are breathtaking and the amenities were good. We were there for a short time but would definitely go back to this hidden gem. The rooms was clean and very big and opened up to a lively garden. The bathroom was clean and the shower was large with lovely hot water. Beds was comfy and there is electric blankets if required. The rooms are equipped with tv and a kitchen with a fridge and kettle. The entertainment area is large and clean with a pool table, tv and pool. There is a large bar available as well as tables inside and out for your meals. They also have a venue for events. The gardens were very well looked after and there is a beautiful river/lake a few hundred meters away. All in all a 10 out of 10!

They always checked on us all the time if we needed anything and went an extra mile to ensure that our stay would be a memorable one. We wanna go back again. There is just no other place like the one we spent our weekend away at. We are going back for sure

The shower in room 6 did not have warm water and the pool was not clean. Otherwise everything else was 10/10

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend thornycroft lodge for anyone visiting East london, even when we came before time for our check in. The staff offered us a place to rest and wait for our rooms to be ready by the pool side and we enjoyed the great garden view. We are definitely coming back it absolutely feels like our second home and I can't wait to come back
