We travelled as a family of six, including four teenagers, and were truly amazed by the facilities offered at the resort. We booked three rooms, and the staff thoughtfully placed them next to each other—something not all resorts do—allowing us to stay close as a family. From padel and pickleball courts to multiple swimming pools, golf courses, running trails, and even hippo sightings, the variety of amenities was impressive. The spa was also a highlight—absolutely amazing! Although we usually opt for a chalet, the hotel rooms were clean, comfortable, and pleasantly surprising. An added bonus was the included breakfast and dinner, which were delicious. The chefs went above and beyond to accommodate my daughter’s gluten-free needs, and the entire team was incredibly friendly and helpful. This was a perfect spot for quality family time across all ages and offered great value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this resort to others!

the space between the bathroom and cupboard made accessing the bathroom and entrance a bit difficult but overall can't really complain.

Great family & nature focused resort. Peaceful. Awesome cycling / walking track round the property. Very well managed and maintained.

Breakfast could have had more variety of fresh fruit.

Fantastic location and beautiful gardens around the golf course. Stayed in the hotel section. Crisp white linen in the rooms and puffy white towels in the bathrooms. Excellent entertainment staff for the kids. Children loved the pool and playground area. Large buffet selection at the main restaurant. Cozy main bar and good vibe around the golf bar (especially when the Springboks are playing).

Some of the hotel staff seem a little unfriendly (or distracted, which is a shame since most of the staff are very welcoming). Restaurant service needs improvement with poor attention to detail (had to ask for cutlery and crockery on more than one occasion e.g. soup spoons, tea kettle often not hot). Plenty of waiters but never around when you need them. No F&B manager visible checking to make sure guests are happy. Hotel Room TV is not HD, so not ideal for watching sport. Limited channels available (cartoon channel not working for kids). Bathrooms are modern (but tight) with lovely showers.

The location of the hotel is absolutely exquisite. We loved it. The surroundings are utterly gorgeous. The hippos down at the river are wonderful as always. Our room was clean, large and gorgeous.

The room didn't quite match the luxury of the photos on booking.com We had a swim and the staff were playing music from the bar area which was pretty terrible. The bass of the sound system doesn't work and the music didn't add to any relaxation. The quite surroundings would have been better. Breakfast and dinner were good. There's a distinct lack of vegan options, which was disappointing.

The property is really nice spread across a huge area, probably the biggest in hazy view. The property is very near to kruger phabeni gate around 13 kms, so early game drives can be done comfortably. The rooms are nice well designed with all the amenities. Finding vegetarian food option in south africa is a tough task, but special thanks to both the head chefs for doing everything possible and making special vegetarian food apart from set buffets for all of us for all three days. Kudos to the whole sabie river sun resort team for making our holiday nice and wonderful.

To be honest, we liked everything! Breakfast and dinner each day was excellent, with great choice and fantastic staff engaging with guests. Location is perfect; Kruger Park is less than 20 minutes away and Blyde River Canyon just over an hour away. We love our golf and the on-site 18 hole golf course and facilities are superb and offer amazing value for money. The course is in terrific condition and the noise of hippos in the dam constantly reminds you you're in South Africa! All staff and the management team are on the ball, friendly and this adds to the overall experience. We stayed 4 nights and wish we had booked more!

We couldn't fault Sabi River Sun Resort on anything.

The accommodation with extra large beds, very good food and all the sport options (golf, tennis, bowling, running, swimming, padel..), hippo's and crocodiles in the garden.

The door key cards didn't function well, so after trying and failing to open your door for a dozen times, you had no other option than going back to the reception and replacing it. I needed 3 keys for only 3 nights. Other guests in the building had the same issue. Advise: keep the card key away from your phone and other cards.

Breakfast was good, but the evening buffet was somewhat of a disappointment. I did speak to the assistant food and beverage manager about it. I was impressed with the concern he showed and that he seemed to care.

The evening buffet on Friday. I live in Pretoria - do I really need a braai? NO! It wasn't even a good selection of meat. Tiny pieces of steak, chicken drumsticks and an average boerewors. All previously coked and kept warm - so where was the braai experience?? The salads were quite good though. Drink prices were INSANE - R 38 for a coke. I'm sorry, but that is a definitive example of a rip-off!!

Absolutely beautiful resort. Very well maintained and with plenty of amenities (golf course, pools, tennis ...). There are hippos in a river next to the golf course. Excellent breakfast. A special thanks to the guys who cooked our eggs. They were perfect. The dinner buffet was excellent. There were different offerings every evening and the waiters offered excellent service. Also, a special thanks to the barman who made excellent drinks. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The resort is a short drive to Phabeni Gate. It is also possible to visit the Blyde River Canyon but watch out for potholes in the road toward Graskop.

Great place for a break away, very nice rooms and facilities, a lot of activities in the place to keep you busy, amazing golf course to play on, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Also located not too far activities one would look forward to doing, and a number of stores and restaurants in the area. Cannot recommend this place enough!
