The location is amazing. The property has gorgeous views from it's viewpoints. No need to pay to go into Three Rondavels viewpoint nearby when you can see it from inside this resort. There are great hiking trails inside the resort. I wish we had stayed longer so we could do more hiking. The views from our bedroom window of the canyon walls was beautiful also. It was nice to have a restaurant onsite since the resort is far away from any other restaurants. Our unit had a kitchenette so it was great to have the option to cook our own meals also.

We had two cabins. One was in a quiet area. The other unfortunately was near a cabin that was partying until 2 am. It was disappointing that resort security did not shut that down given that they have a 10 pm Quiet rule.

The location of Blyde River Canyon Forever Resort is truly spectacular — conveniently positioned with access to great hiking trails suitable for a range of fitness levels. The natural surroundings are breathtaking, and the overall experience of being in the canyon is unforgettable. The self-catering facilities are excellent, including an outdoor grill area, which we really appreciated. While the on-site restaurant offers a decent buffet (especially for breakfast), we recommend making use of the self-catering option for lunch and dinner if you prefer more flexibility. Reception staff were efficient, though not especially warm or welcoming. Still, everything we needed was handled smoothly. One important note: there are two Forever Resorts in this area — one at the canyon rim and one at the base. They are about 90 minutes apart by car. If time allows, visiting both locations gives you a much richer experience of the canyon’s scale and beauty.

It is a large resort and it was clear that reception staff were simply doing a job and didn't seem to enjoy their employment very much, so the service was minimal and transactional. This stands in contrast to the many smaller properties in the area where a more personalised and caring service is provided.

Breakfast and dinner was ok. I loved Security in the resort that enabled me to jog around without fear of being mugged. I loved that they have a laundromat that guests can use at no extra cost. Loved the shop that sells all the necessities. Friendly staff. The pool is nice and big.

The carpets gave a terrible smell in the rooms. The closet was tiny for a couple staying 6 nights, had to keep our clothes in the suitcases. The kitchen curtain is see through at night. As much as the resort itself is beautiful it is located far from the places of attraction which required a lot of travelling.

the location is perfect - if you book a room, make sure you book a chalet with a view: the views are amazing!!! the little covered patio is amazing when you have a chalet with a view. the whole resort is very big, there are a lot of walking/hiking path. the upper viewpoint is spectacular and from the lower viewpoint the walk to the Thula falls is really short. we were super happy we came here and stayed for 2 days to give us plenty of time to explore the beautiful Blyde Canyon. they have a restaurant on site with breakfast and dinner buffet or a la carte menu. But you do also have a kitchenette.

there is only wifi in the restaurant - which I think is a shame, as you don't have wifi in your room. especially as it is advertised with wifi and the restaurant was a long walk or a drive with our car away, so not very convenient.

The location is wonderful! The restaurant staff is kind and the cleaning is done everyday so this is great. The guy for horse riding was gentle!

No clothes rack provided and the unit we booked was not what we get. The cupboard under the sink need some maintenance and the air conditioning is super noisy and does not really do the job. But this is if we want to be fussy. We took the breakfast 1 morning and we were quite disappointed to find no fresh fruits, only canned fruits and this is not acceptable for South Africa where there is lots of fruits.

No wifi in the rooms

It was our first time camping & we absolutely LOVED IT!!! The tent was neat with comfortable beds, air conditioned, fridge & all the utilities promised… Common bathrooms were very clean & the laundry room was operational but I didn’t use… It was also good to hear guards patrolling at night… Most people were hiking but a runner in me couldn’t resist the Baby Monster 5KM, super cool solo run… Stuff were all minding their business hence I didn’t get even one name (I always remember names)…

Excellent location to see the Blyde River canyon-upper view point. Lovely hikes-the reception desk could be a bit more knowledgeable (possibility even have done the hikes for personal feedback) lovely pool, well stocked shop. bottle store. Great for families with kids

outdated chalets they need a refurb but they are well equipped for self catering. Clean. Slightly over priced for the chalet rate, but the facilities and amazing location are reasons for this pricing. Baboons a problem but people are warned and need to keep chalet locked at all times.

Perfect accommodation to experience canyon views and the surrounding area. Great customer service, on request we were given an appartment with spectacular views. It was a bit isolated on the edge, but overall we felt very safe at the resort. Nice staff in the restaurant and everywhere on the premises. There was also a shop (moderately well stocked) and a petrol station with liquor store. It's all very spread out and on the mountain, so you have to be good on foot or always drive.

Kitchen equipment a bit oldish but it was not a problem.

Arrived Saturday afternoon 17h45, restaurant inside the facility was expensive, for me traveling with family it was unaffordable 😓 Tried the Cafe inside the lodge, they had pies only 😓 My last option was the garage at the entrance , drove there guess what?! It was closed 😢, closes at 6pm. It was Saturday night no where to go , we slept on an empty stomachs 😓😓
