- All staff were amazing and so professional - Food was tasty and of high quality, and the chef was very accommodating to any additional requests - Rooms were comfy, huge beds - The game drive offered to kids under the age of 6yrs was a great offering - Stunning views all around the property

- There is an influx of birds in the dining area especially during breakfast. The birds were sitting on the cereals and pastries that were open. A health/safety concern in my opinion. A quick fix would be to properly cover all food (not with a serviette that the birds easily remove, which is currently being done) - A play area for kids would be a lovely addition since there isn't much else for kids to do - Drinks are expensive

Our stay at Ivory Tree Game Lodge in Pilanesberg was nothing short of extraordinary. We spent two nights at this beautiful lodge and had the privilege of going on four game drives, each more thrilling than the last. A huge thank you to our incredible guide, Vumile, who truly made this experience unforgettable. His deep knowledge of the wildlife, sharp instincts, and unwavering passion for nature gave us the opportunity to witness some incredibly rare animals up close—moments we will cherish forever. If you have the chance, we highly recommend requesting him as your guide! Beyond the spectacular safari experience, the lodge itself was a dream. The staff was exceptionally warm, professional, and attentive, ensuring that every moment of our stay was comfortable and special. From the welcoming smiles at check-in to the impeccable service at the restaurant and bar, we felt genuinely cared for throughout our visit. The combination of breathtaking landscapes, thrilling wildlife encounters, and world-class hospitality makes Ivory Tree Game Lodge a must-visit for any safari enthusiast. We will definitely return!

Firstly it's the humanity, every single staff member I came across was so friendly, they made our stay so comfortable... They kept us Informed about everything we need to know. Requesting service wa s met with a sense of urgency and efficiency... The Food was amazing we could not stop stuffing our face, forgot all about January diet. The game drive was also very fun our driver was patient and very informative. They made my sister's birthday extra special but decorating the room she was over the moon. Over all it's a 10/10 I loved it and would come back over and over again.

The weather which was beyond anyone's control.

What a fantastic Stay! We stayed for 3 nights and ended up going on 4 Game Drives. Our Guide, Answer, was extremely knowledgeable and even though I have been to the Pilanesberg many times before, I learned more than I have ever before. He absolutely made the trip! The food was exquisite! Coffee, Juice and Snacks before the Game Drive, Coffee on the drive, Breakfast when you return. Then a 3 course Lunch. High Tea at 4pm just before the evening Drive. Then drinks on the drive and closed off with Dinner! No one could go hungry here! The rooms were fabulous and the staff is so welcoming and inviting. I would stay here over and over again!

If I have to be super critical, the wine list was a little lacking. I would like to see more options there. The Outdoor shower was neat, but could be cold in the winter. Our rooms were the furthest from Reception. They picked us up with golfcarts whenever we requested so definitely not a bad thing! Just something to keep in mind.

The facility was first class, well organized, professional staff. This was one of the last holidays that my late husband planned for my son and I. He sadly died of covid on 9 August 2021, age 44.I shared this with one of the staff, leandre. The next day I was surprised with a complimentary spa treatment for my son and I. I was not expecting it at all, but their compassion, warmth and thoughtfulness really touched me. Although overwhelmed with sadness throughout our stay, I'm happy that I did this trip in my husband's memory. Thank you Ivory Tree Game Resort Milanie Bennett

An overall great experience with extremely friendly staff. Nice food mostly served at the table which added to the exclusive experience of the place. Really well equipped cabins with outdoor showers. My son very impressed with the wifi even if our cabin was located quite far away from the main building. Last but not least mostly great safari drives. We managed to get on five fine drives in total during our stay. Didn't get to see all of the big five though. But still an amazing experience for us being first time on a safari lodge.

When cats where seen and reported over the radio to the safari vehicles across the park it tended to create literal traffic jams in the bush around the animal spotting. This really takes something away from the experience and is definitely not something you want to share on insta.

The location was great, inside the Pilanesberg park surrounded by nature. The rooms were very cozy, great bathroom with exterior shower and nice thatch roofs, very quite area. We really enjoyed the game drive through the park. All the meals were very good, we had some crocodile for the first time, and the ox tail was fantastic.

Everything was great, if I had to say the only thing that disappointed was that the floors of the rooms were not real wood, it's vinyl with wood effect, which didn't contrast very well with everything else which was natural materials and of great quality.

It's always a pleasant surprise when one's expectations are exceeded, as was the case with our stay at Ivory Tree Game Lodge. The accommodation was very comfortable, the food was very good, and the staff were exceptional. It was genuinely the friendliest staff I've encountered. Despite the fact that it's expected to be treated well, they were authentically friendly as opposed to it being 'part of the job'. I've stayed in a few upmarket game lodges in South Africa, and Ivory Tree ranks amongst the best. Good value for money! Thanks for a memorable experience, Ivory Tree!

Very tasty, well prepared food. There was a good variety to choose from. It is a 3 course menu, for which I suggest one does all 3 courses. Room was fantastic, really enjoyed the outdoor shower, beds are extremely comfortable, the staff super friendly and the game drives (2 per day, morning and evening) were amazing.

Portions were a little small, BUT I was able to order additional dishes. There was also some miscommunication amongst the staff at time, mixed messages and unfortunately, getting confused with a group that checked out at 4 am and we got a call as well. For full board, I would've expected to have a few snacks, chips or nuts, when having a drink and not going on a safari. If you are hungry, you can order from a seperate menu, but at an additional cost. Perhaps be more specific about what you mean with full board inclusive, as I was surprised when we found out drinks were separate.

The lodge is right outside the Pilanesberg National Park and offers free safaris twice a day (we loved out female guide TK, she was great!) and full board with a wide selection of international foods as well as snacks before and during the safaris. We also really enjoyed the braai evening with the traditional dance group. Our room had a nice view and good size.

The WiFi did not work well in our room, and the floor in our bedroom could need a deep clean. The hotel should automatically provide one big bottle of water per person per day, not only one per room, when the temperatures are above 25°C outside. The desserts at lunch and dinner were super sweet, but the extreme amounts of sugar used in desserts or drinks is a common "problem" in South Africa. It made us not want to try the cocktails though.
