Staff pleasant and very accommodating. Food great, game drive excellent, pools n kids sections fabulous.

Overall lack of cleanliness. Shower drain blocked. Mould on shower floor. Most of the wicker place mats had old dried food in them (2 breakfasts and 2 dinners 10 people in our group) . Bird droppings on the seats at breakfast and dinner.

Kwa Maritane exceeded our expectations in every single way! I cannot wait to book out next trip.We were delighted to find such a big variety of breakfast choices. Since we are salmon lovers we loved that smoked salmon was also an option during breakfast and some dinners.

I liked everything! My eldery parents came with us though and simce they have trouble walking, and were situated very far from us at the opposite side of the lodge. It is the first time we saw them in two years and while this was supposed to be a very sepcial holiday it was such a shame that although I made 1 booking for both my parents and us, we were allocated rooms at opposite sides of the park which was very inconveneint.

It was our second time, and we LOVE Kwa Maritane. The guides are incredible-they are a treat and the game drives and boma dinners are an amazing experience. Especially for the kids. Great rooms and facilities, more than enough to keep everyone entertained.

Upon our previous visit we reviewed the same - the restaurant service and staff is really not up to scratch for a 4 star lodge that also showcase South African hospitality. The staff is not friendly, and their knowledge is extremely lacking. The lunch service is slow, and the 2 couples sitting around us also had to complain about the food taking up to 1.25 hours. (And the restaurant was dead quiet except for the 3 tables.) We waited more than an hour for 1 soup and 2 toasted cheese sandwiches. Management seemed inconvenienced by our raised concern. Also, the reservations department was very confused and paying for my booking was an extremely difficult task.

Our stay at Kwa Maritane was absolutely fantastic and exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The service throughout our entire visit was exceptional – attentive without being intrusive, and always with a smile. And the food! Oh my, the food was simply amazing. Every meal was a culinary delight, with a wide variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. The location is also brilliant, offering stunning views and easy access to wildlife. It truly felt like a perfect getaway.

Keep on eye on the traffic over a long weekend. Was a very difficult and long drive from OR Tambo at the start of a long weekend.

Very relaxing environment. Staff were very helpful and attentive. The Spar was a very enjoyable experience! My wife and I visited on 3 occasions for different treatments - very professional and relaxing

Our Game Drive was a bit disappointing. The Guide, Israel, was very full of self importance and was not particularly engaging towards the passengers, particually at the rear of the vehicle. Pulling off whilst they were still standing up trying to take photos and also not stopping when people wanted to stop and take photos! Very disappointing!!

The shower was not that great

Great starting point to visit the Pilanesberg National Park. Really liked the game drives, with a 5:30 and a 16:30 option (take the early one to see more). Morning and dinner buffet was great with large variety of fish, meat and vegetarian options that were freshly made to preference at a bbq station. Staff friendly and problem-solving. Family-friendly (we weren't a family) facilities, lots of resort-style options from tennis to mini-golf to pool to table tennis and foosball.

Indoor buffet varied in choices. One day really great (see above), the next day somewhat reduced (potentially this had to do with canceled bush dinner).

Our stay was AMAZING! 3 days of exceptional experience in the middle of Pilanesberg reserve. 4 safaris with 4 different guides, all them really nice and attentive. The rooms are confortable, shower is delicious. The hotel is really KIDS FRIENDLY, with mini golf, tennis, pools, kids parks, chest, etc. Food was surprisingly good! It was my husband's birthday and they were nice to bring him a happy birthday cake. Elephants drank water in front of the restaurant. Amazing stay!

Nothing could have been better.

I first came to Kwa Maritane in 2015 and have been longing to come back! May I just say that coming back did not disappoint at all! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and well maintained (even things like the minigolf which usually ho forgotten). There’s many facilities, from the 2 pools, to the tennis court, mini golf, hide (to watch the animals) and so much more. The staff is so kind and welcoming and the game drives are just the best. The rangers are so knowledgeable and will really do anything in their power to show you the coolest wildlife! Let’s not forget the great buffet, very varied and delicious food. Last but not least, the rooms!! Omgggg we had the most beautiful and spacious room with a balcony. I cannot wait to come back

Nice large, well appointed and spotlessly clean room with very comfortable bed and great patio area with superb view of game park perimeter fence close by. Good supply of bottled water and mini toiletries in clean, well designed bathroom that included a bath. Great evening turn-down service with bushveld animal-themed mini chocolates on pillow. Helpful, friendly staff, quick response to maintenance issue with bathroom tap. Good daily game drive included in my package stay was a real delight and highly recommended. Unique Bush Hide 180m into the bush with underground tunnel access was intriguing and is a great feature, with ability to monitoring the webcam without having to physically sit there for hours waiting for something interesting to appear. Very good food, nicely varied over the evenings, served in a clean, well serviced restaurant with stunning panoramic view of savannah and of the constantly topped up water hole that attracted a stunning variety of game during my stay, including a large family of elephants. Fantastic feature that brings the wild animals up very close and personal to guests.

Minor maintenance issue with bathroom tap was quickly seen to, but not 100% fixed, although bath tap was a working alternative so only minor inconvenience. Noisy, fairly old aircon meant I couldn't sleep with it on at night. The room was full of mosquitoes when I first arrived, fortunately I had my own can of room spray to fumigate, but I noticed cleaning staff who entered twice a day (including evening turn down service) left the door wide open for the duration of their activity in the room, which explained to me how so many mosquitoes gained access to the room each day. Come armed with adequate anti-mozzy aerosol to fumigate each and every night of your stay.
