We were warmly welcomed by Sarah. The room is lovely and equipped with everything we needed. The queen size bed was comfortable. They offer a good variety of streaming channels for entertainment. We really appreciate the filtered water they provided. The surroundings were tranquil and we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

Even though we knew that this was a remote destination and expected some gravel roads, the last section of the road is more suited to 4x4 vehicles, which I wish I knew ahead of time.

Amazing tucked away stay. Staff made us feel at home the moment we arrived. Room was clean, comfortable and accommodating. Braai was provided, which made the stay even more relaxing. Everything was exactly what we wanted and needed. I found no fault.

The place is, as it's named, tucked away. You need to go through gravel road, don't let that stop you! You'll enjoy the fact that it's tucked away. Be a little adventurous, take the road. 😜

The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable . They were friendly, attentive,and willing to help . The level of service we received was truly exceptional and exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay with outstanding service.

Everything was lovely, including the hosts. Beautiful place, with a dam a short walk away. Central location for everything in Somerset West. The room has everything you need, including a generator for the lights and fan in the room, and also the TV, with surround sound, during loadshedding.

The curtains smelt of cigarette smoke, which we assume were from previous guests even though there is a 'no smoking' sign on the room door.

while it was off the beaten track it wasnt really only 700m from the main road but the amazing thing was you felt you were on a farm or in a nature environment. the sounds of nature and very little of the noises of the world made it super special.

my wife has been suffering from bad eczema so an aircon would have been a big blessing, but everything met what we were expecting, it was more health discomfort than a resort discomfort. everything was great.

The owner is very friendly. Felt comfortable to be there with my child. The place is clean, even with the loadshedding we had kinder like emergency light so we did not run out of electricity and the wifi was still available to us. The room was spacious. The yard was clean.

Absolutely nothing

The room was lovely - it was clean, very comfortable and just enough for a short stay for two people. Sarah was very kind and welcoming. She checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed. Our favourite part was spending time sitting by the dam nearby to watch the bird life, of which there is plenty. We were especially excited to see two beautiful fish eagles swooping down very close to where we were sitting. This is the perfect place to go if you want some quiet time alone or with your partner.

Sara is the perfect host, and Tuckaway is the perfect place to stay when in the Cape Town area. The self-contained accommodation is immaculate, very comfortable, and looking out onto an amazing garden, with the mountains of Sir Lowry's pass providing a breath taking backdrop. Quiet and secluded, the beautiful beach and welcoming village of Gordon's Bay, Somerset West and the excellent Somerset Mall are all minutes away by car. I especially like this area for giving easy access to many points around the area within a leisurely drive - Cape Point and the peninsula, Betty's Bay, Hermanus, Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Cape Town itself are all close at hand. I hope it will not he long before I can again return to this beautiful "home away from home."

TuckAway is really secluded but also close to amenities. We love the location and the privacy. The hosts are friendly and the place feels like home away from home. I would recommend any couple that just want a break to visit TuckAway. Loved the bath tub toooo

That there wasn't a kitchen sink but a plastic wash basin was provided to clean some dishes, we made it work

The scenery was so peaceful. The owners went the extra mile to have things (necessities) in the place that you won't find in other self-catering units. It made it feel like home.
