We had such a lovely two night stay at The Manor. Highlights were the welcome from our hosts which was exceptional, the views from the outside terrace and the enormous, comfortable beds. The air con (which we only needed for a short while in the night), was the quietest unit on our stay and the room was large and comfortable. We had superb breakfasts each day in a lovely part of the house, again overlooking the small bay. The room was beautifully decorated with high quality furnishings. We walked into the village, a safe, easy walk on a footpath by the beach and had a fantastic meal at Zest, so much so that we returned the next night. We also visited the book shop, huge place to get lost in and a great little bar next to the book shop. Very friendly locals. We then drove down the coast to Betty's Bay, a stunning drive, to see the penguins and visited Harry Porter Botanical Gardens which was absolutely lovely. We would definitely return, thank you.

Loved our stay!! The family room we stayed in had the most wonderful view of the ocean. Was lovely sipping wine & looking through beautiful trees onto the beach in the evenings. The sea was also quite warm for Cape Town…. An easy pop across the road to a lovely beach makes it super easy with young kids. Breakfast was great! They even had gluten free muffins for us! The room was also very large & super comfortable. Thank you! We will definitely be back!

We loved everything about Manor on the Bay! It was an amazing stay at this immaculate and spotlessly clean four-star property situated right by the beach in Gordons Bay. It is run by the owners, Oliver, who is French and Yamin who is Burmese, who live on the site, which is a big plus in our eyes! Nothing was too much trouble for them. They advised on restaurants, places to go, booked a manicure, provided an extra pillow, plates for a picnic, and iron aand ironing board. It has large beautiful comfy rooms with Kingsize beds, tv with Sky, small fridge and kettle and three of their rooms have mini kitchens which I would advise if booking for a longer stay as you could then buy food from Woolworths( equivalent to Waitrose) situated a mile away. Breakfast was superb each day with wonderful French music playing as we were eating. Such a good choice of food too. The property is only 22 miles away from the airport and close to all the vineyards, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Cape Town. It was perfect in every way!

1. Location is perfect and gives you ability to: - Walk by the beach front - Walk to the city center 2. Safe location: - Walking at night was not an issue 3. Rooms size: - Room was for a family but still it's very spacious - Nicely furnished with all amenities

I would have preferred a more flavored breakfast i.e. I am used to adding herbs and spices when making eggs, mushrooms etc.

Although a short one night stay our hosts Yamin & Olivier made us feel at home from the first minute. From the welcome sherry, the honesty bar in your room and the goody bag on departure the small touches made all the difference. The breakfast was a feast with a good variety of options and one of the best I have had on my many travels. Yamin & Olivier could not do enough to make you feel welcome.

The only thing to not like was that we were not staying there longer! When travelling we do not go out of our way to look for faults but even if we did, we couldn't find anything to spoil this short stay.

The breakfast was excellent and the hosts very accommodating and welcoming. The house has an interesting history too, which I found fascinating. We were in the area for a wedding and The Manor was a perfect location from which to get to all the activities and the reception during the course of our stay.

Wonderful property. The rooms have a wonderful view and are very comfortable! The beach is just across the street and restaurants are nearby. The owners are very friendly and welcoming! We felt like home and would defenetly come back. Thank you for the welcome -drink, our lunch box for our early travel to the airport, organizing a transfer for us and especially hosting us in such a welcoming and friendly way !

The Manor on the Bay is a beautiful guest house located directly on the water. The rooms are squeaky clean, the beds outstanding and the breakfast excellent! Parking facilities on the premises make it easy to come and go. Last, but not least, Jenny, Sebastiaan and their son are wonderful hosts that go out of their way to enable a pleasant. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful property, in a beautiful location right opposite the beach. We had a fabulous welcome, nothing was too much trouble, and the room was outstanding. The sunbeds outside our room on the terrace was just what we needed when we arrived after a long flight.

There was nothing to dislike about this property.

The Breakfast was very good so thank you for the care you prepared it with. The Manor has a wonderful location and setting and we would like to return to it and hopefully in better weather!

The room is clean, spacious and one can see that housekeeping is done by well trained personnel. The view was macnificent and that helped a lot when the weather was not that good. Choice of wine is also good.
