Excellent service. The cleaning and maintenance as well as the restaurant staffs are courteous, friendly, and highly efficient. The ladies at reception made us feel very welcome and were very accommodating. The room was spacious with a very spacious bed, and the view from the room over the vineyards is just glorious (as seen in the photos). The pool is big enough and well maintained. With many foreign tourists we enjoyed the added entertainment of a local minstrel band on NYE - even had one of the waitresses joining in to dance to the music. The spirit of Cape Town.

This place felt like a little oasis, perfect for families as our family room was more like a huge 2 bed apartment. The staff went above and beyond to help us arrange special treats for a friends room after they got married, helped with washing and were generally very warm and welcoming. Going to sleep with the sounds of crickets and birds was really lovely.

Overall rooms were a bit tired but I think it's reflected in the price and didn't take away from the more rural charm.

This is our second stay at Country Guest House- and this stay was as great as before. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and helpful, I don’t want to single any one out but the reception ladies go out of their way to help! We stayed in room 1 the first time, room 6 the next. Beautiful spacious room with huge king size bed and amazing views! It is in close proximity to so many restaurants, shops, wine farms, other attractions.

We were greeted with a big smile At reception. The wine waiter in the restaurant recommended a reasonably expensive wine but asked if we would like to try it first! It was delicious and we went to the vineyard the next day and bought a case! Our waitress was very jovial and efficient. The food was delicious. Great atmosphere. What more could one want?

We had just got off the plane from the UK. Left snow behind but arrived in drizzle so we didn’t swim. Next morning was fine with an excellent breakfast.

Our room was spacious,with a very comfortable bed and a pleasant patio area.There was a large shower with lots of hot water and lovely toiletries.Breakfast was very good,with a nice selection - and the poached eggs were perfect,compliments to the chef! One evening we had supper at the restaurant,which was situated a short walk from our room and found the food and service to be of a high standard.Our parking bay was conveniently situated right outside our room,making it easy to carry our luggage in and out. The surrounding gardens were beautiful and the location handy for both Somerset West and Stellenbosch.

The decor is a little tired and the room could benefit from a few cushions and pictures,just to give it a more homely feel.The wardrobe is inconveniently located in the corner and has very little hanging space.There were a few tiles in the bathroom that should be replaced and an extractor fan would be an advantage, instead of having to open windows.

Booking was made on the morning of our 4 night stay as a result of having to revise our plans due to the severe storm which struck the Western Cape. It was not until turning into the drive we realised this was the same property at which we had stayed in February 2018. Everything was as we recalled from our previous visit - aside from one or two changes introduced as a result of the Pandemic which we viewed as improvements - but our accommodation looking out on the vineyards was a huge bonus compared to our previous visit when our view was of the pool. A great team of staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Very comfortable room; excellent breakfasts as was dinner on the night we dined in the onsite restaurant.

The location is great and nearby all sorts of attractions. Our cottage were private and spacious. Out stay at Country Guesthouse truly exceeded our expectations. Oh and the croissants were soooo freshly baked, breakfast was scrumptious to say the least.

There is an extra blanket in each room but more blankets would have been nice. We didn't want to keep the aircons on during the night and it gets freezing during Winter nights. 😉

Tranquility and landscaping and the green scenery surrounding us. Its in a bush but yet so luxurious.

Overgroud with peiple. If you drive far and still have to eat at the restuarant. There is to many people their and no room service options and aparently you hae to book even if your a guest at the guesthouse and the reception have not told us this before hand.

The room was great, large amount of space with a big comfortable bed. Some of the facilities could do with a refresh, but overall it had everything we needed for our stay. The views from the Cottage (1) were stunning and the pool area was perfect. The restaurant on site served a delicious country breakfast. We would return.

The breakfast staff were exceptionally accommodating. Lato yah helped us to book in earlier as we had a wedding to attend. She also went out of her way to accomodate some family who did not have a place to stay due to arriving late. Latoyah is top class and has definitely got our stamp of approval for a return visit.
