the hotel staff are very friendly this is what makes the hotel. The rooms were bright and clean. the pool area was nice and relaxing to sit around if I can give some feedback on some small improvements - floor length mirror in rooms - more water to be provided one small bottle not enough between two - air conditioning units are very noisy and not very effective in the rooms - put some scrambled eggs out in the buffet rather than having to wait for the egg ladies - better access to Taxis. very difficult to get one from hotel - have extendable mirror in bathroom for shaving, my husband found shaving very difficult because the mirror is behind the sink

the noise. there were a lot of functions on and people partying round the pool area until 1-2am. the next day there was lots of broken glass by the pool. this needs to be stopped or time limited

The Garden was serene, a small piece of heaven on earth, well kept! The hotel rooms were spacious, there was a breakfast seating provision for bigger groups in one of the conference rooms to avoid long waiting times. The food was delicious.

On Saturday the bar was extremely busy, sit in orders were given priority over the room service orders. The hotel is not accommodative of families of 5 in terms of family room sharing unlike other hotel groups that are accommodative of the sharing requests and you only have to pay extra for meals. It would be great if the Southern Sun group can look into this and be flexible like other hotel groups especially in this tough economic climate. Kindly consider putting food labels in the conference overflow area for breakfast, the chefs serving eggs did not have an idea as to what type of sausages were served there , weather it was chicken and pork or both pork. Invest in additional food labels for that area, the idea of an overflow is great, Just this small detail to work on

There’s plenty of breakfast options to suit different needs, even vegetarians. I also liked the friendliness of the staff. The checkin process was also very quick and they showed us to the room, which was nice. I liked the fact that there’s entertainment daily for the kiddies and the music around the pool area makes a nice ambience. The cleaning staff is also very honest because I forgot my phone in the room when checking out without realising, and they called me to inform me that the cleaning staff found my phone and handed in to housekeeping. I also liked that there was an option to include a cot for my baby and the mattress was soft and comfortable for baby. Thank you for the baby cosmetics too.

I didn’t like that there’s no facility to prepare a Baby’s bottle or warm up his formula. I had to ask the bar area to assist me.

The facilities were good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The check in process was quick this time.

Our family room was not ready and we only checked in at 4pm so it should have been ready at 2pm. We were given a different room and that room did not have a bath tub for the kids. There was not much shower gel and hand wash etc. In the bathroom and only 1 bottle of water in the fridge for a family of 4. The aircon is very outdated and makes a loud noise when it's on. It should be upgraded.

The food, the room: bed and pillows 👌 the vicinity and river view. Everything actually 🤗 we really enjoyed our stay at Riverside Sun ☀️

The inconsistency when it comes to outside food consumed in the vicinity of the pool area. People were roaming around with baskets 🧺 and woolies shopping bags carrying their snacks and beverages whereas my family and I followed the instructions and bought snacks and beverages at the bar and left ours in our car.

The breakfast was great and had a large variety of foods to choose from. There was something new every day. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and the entire hotel was kept clean. The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable.

Some of the items on the menu at the hotel are slightly overpriced. The hotel itself is of top standard, but I didn't expect the normal things like soft drinks to also cost a premium. The diner-time buffet is also quite pricey.

What an amazing hotel, an hour from Sandton and right in the Vaal River. Safe secure parking and a warm welcome into the item at reception. We were shown to our room which was a twin.(this was asked for) Room was amazing with great air conditioning. We then spent time in the fantastic gardens and by the pool. Time for dinner and we had an incredible meal in the restaurant. Great comfortable beds were slept in and woke up and had again a brilliant buffet breakfast. If you want a brilliant getaway where nothing is too much effort for the staff, then this is it. I could not fault a thing about this hotel. This will definitely be our getaway from now on. Also kid friendly!

Absolutely nothing!! All was fantastic.

The breakfast was tasty. There was enough egg stations to cover the amount of guests at the time considering that the hotel was fully booked for the weekend. the are enough facilities for kids and adults. the area is not too far from the other places (Shops ect).

Our cars were in the sun most of the time. There is no basement parking, or maybe we were not told about it. from the cars to the rooms is quiet a distance and we don't get any assistance with our bags.

Rooms very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great but it was very busy though, the omelet lady makes the BEST omelets we have ever had. The Pool and garden area are very clean and well kept. Sadly the tap was wonky in the bathroom basin in the room, the aircon in the room is EXTREMELY LOUD and old, it sounded like we were in a tumble dryer all night.. Dinner was basic, they focus more on buffet style food.

Tiles in shower were a little slippery and a safety hazard (the rubber mat didn't hold and was also sliding on the tiles, so couldn't be used) Toasted cheese & onion sandwiches ordered from room service was poorly made and not appetising. It consisted of 1 slice of processed cheese and loads of onions, and triple layer bread making it very bready. It didn't taste good at all. This is quite a simple dish that you shouldn't get so wrong.
