If you are looking for a place in Wellington for any purpose, look no further. It is guaranteed that all your expectations will will be exceeded! Mara and all the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and it is impossible to describe all you will encounter there. The views are breathtaking, and this is no exaggeration, the rooms are lovely, superbly clean, and you have more than you could ever expect from a guest house. There are so many special extras, too many to mention, but I can just say you will definitely not regret going there. The breakfast is probably the most decorative and tastefully created breakfast we've had at any previous guesthouse or hotel. To conclude, we will most definitely recommend Mara's guest house to any person who wants to stay over in Wellington.

Everything perfect

Fabulous outdoor set breakfast which was healthy ands tasty which was a perfect start for the day ahead. Attentive service and spotless rooms plus the host Mara was incredibly helpful offering advice and recommendations too visit including tourist spots plus restaurant recommendations. Also Bovril the dog was a delight and super friendly.

Breakfast was served outside, with excellent service and beautiful table setting. The breakfast included fruit and yoghurt, juice, coffee/tea, and a frittata.

If I was given a choice, I would have preferred an English breakfast, and not a frittata. Perhaps maybe a menu could have been provided the night before, where guests could have chosen a breakfast for the morning.

Stunning scenery. I wish we had more time to sit and absorb the view. Staff were so pleasant. A great place to chill out and appreciate nature. Nice lounge and dining area for breakfast.

Would have been good to have some flexibility in check out time but it was Easter holidays so we understood the reasons why

Breakfast was stunning. Hot and cold was served. Great atmosphere and view over the wines and mountains is stunning. Room was spectacular with every small detail catered for. Nothing missing.

Very welcoming hosts and a lovely dog, Bovril. Tranquil, peaceful, beautiful view, even though it's right inside Wellington. Coffee, milk, juice, cake and cold water available. Location maximum 10 minutes from everything. Not really affected by load shedding, as they have a device to keep the power on in the room. Best experience: sitting under the starlight, view of the mountains and vineyard and having a drink with my husband. You can't beat that! Definitely recommended!

There wasn't much not to like.

I do travel a bit and I must say I have not seen a place yet where such attention to detail is given. The look, feel and attention to detail is exceptional. Small, sexy glass bottle of milk and a bottle of berry juice in the fridge. nail clipper in the bathroom, they bake something every day and put it in the 'complimentary' basket, so you can just walk by and help yourself. Of course, the view!!!! The Wellington mountains, the vineyards! Ah, and the people! How do you get staff to be so friendly! O don't think there is any other place to stay in Wellington! Tobie

We struggled to connect to wifi and the password did not seem to work.

Relaxing and very friendly place to stay. Very nice staff. Always with a big smile and helping out. If you look for relaxing time - this is a place. We loved the pool and the terrace. Breakfast was very tasty and served with love. Thank you! Mara is a walking wikipedia - she knows her stuff =)

Our hosts and staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating making us feel right at home in Wellington. The open hose made for great conversation as we enjoyed wonderfully prepared breakfasts every morning of our stay overlooking the vineyards & beautiful view.

A nice little gem in a calm area. Beautiful views from the terrace, great outdoor space, nice room. Everything in this guesthouse is done with love. Mara and the team are super friendly and help where ever they can. The breakfast ist just perfect and the team always has some nice cakes or sweets at hand. We can highly recommend this guesthouse and became best friends with the cute dog.
